We are going the last week in jan. Is it very cold when you get out of the water? Is the water warm enough for a 18 month old?

I am guessing it will depend on what the weather is like during that week. We are going the 9th-16th and we aren't even bringing suits to even try. I would be a little hesitant putting a child that young in the water in January even if it is warm. That's just me though.

Well I know they heat the pools there so the water will be warm, but its really the the wind/if there a cold-front comes. I don't think I would want to swim, but I live here and I'm used to swimming in nice weather. I don't think that you would want to take a 18 month old but its really up to you and what you think is cold. I would play it by ear and if its to cold when you get there, then you have extra spending money.

yes you are right I think we may have to skip the water park. I did not think she would enjoy the water much anyway. My oldest are begging to go, maybe I can get dad to take them & the baby & I can hang out at the BC

January is one of our favorite times to go, and I can remember only once where we ventured into the pool. At the water parks there are large chunks of time where you're getting from one spot to the other, waiting in line (although those'll be short in jan!) where you're not in the heated water, and it can be *very* cold sometimes.

We've never run out of things to do in Jan, though, even without the water. :teeth:

hi
have used the parks to sunbathe in jan and feb as we have pap's but only about 8 days out of the two months were actually warm enough for going in the water! :sunny:

if it's warm it can be really warm..was mid to upper 80s for a few days when we were in Fl. Jan of 2004,thena cold front came in and it was winter coat 45 and bitter wind the next day and 2 nights :) then back up to high 70s low 80s for the rest of the trip so if you want to do a water park you need to be very flexible and go if it hits the temp you find acceptable.

usually one water park is closed, one is open at that time of yr

We swam 3 times January 2-9 2005 It was 82 degrees all week. The next week it turned cool and rainy. It is a hit or miss kind of thing.
