All this talk about TL and BB (and a trip to Aqualand in Majorca a couple of weekends ago - where the concrete was hot AND rough!) has got me thinking...

... what is the current thinking on "water shoes" at Disney's waterparks? Water shoes are specially made neoprene like shoes (look a bit like plimsoles). They are waterproof and designed to be warn at waterparks or in the sea or pool. Do Disney allow you to wear them on all/most of their rides?

Haven't beedn to a Disney water park for a few years...

Thanks,
Boo

Hi Boo, yes they do allow them, and actually sell them in the shops in the water parks, (more expensive than elsewhere though obviously!) I wore them at both TL and BB last year and the year before :thumbsup2

So no problem on any of the rides? (they didn't ask you to take them off?)

Already have a pair of them (bought a few years ago) and will remember to pack them - my sensitive little feet HATE the hote, rough bits you can get in areas of some of the water parks... Flip flops are ok, but you generally need to find somewhere to leave them whilst you go on the rides...

Hi!
As long as there are no buckles ,you can keep them on.
We used to wear flip flops, but they do slip off.
The ones they sell are the best.

Enjoy,
Lynn :sunny:

Nope, no problems at all. I wore them all day. Much better than hurting and burning your feet!!

We bought them from Walmart for about $5 a pair :thumbsup2

Our local Netto also had a huge delivery last week and my friend got her kids some for £1.99 / pair :sunny:

Do you need anything on your feet at Discovery Cove?

Yes, otherwise your feet could get scraped on the rocks rather than your shoes. My youngest managed to get a hole in his at DC because of a rock but I would rather him make a hole in that rather than hurt his foot.

We bought him another pair from Sports World for £2.99 which seemed an excellent price.

Very grateful for that response. We'll get kitted up before we go. Thanks.

yes they are a most :thumbsup2
we have the disney ones and been using the same pair for years

last year in the water park in Tenerife the boys were not aloud to wear them on the slides :confused3

Seem to remember them telling me to take them off on the big slides though!

Really, oh dear, that might be an excuse to avoid the big slides then... "Ohwe can't wear them on the BIG slides? I'll hold your shoes DH, and wait here, whilst you go on the slide..." :rotfl:

That might work quite well... ;)

we buy a new pair for the kids each time but DH and myself have had the same ones for a long time now. Were not allowed to wear them in the water park in Cyprus a couple of years ago though. you can but them over here in seaside towns like ours (weston-s-mare) but you can get them in supermarkets like ASDA and Sainsburys, also mothercare Adams almost everywhere really.
