Water park on a Saturday in September-- crazy or not?

We get in in the morning on Saturday September 18. We don't want to use a theme park day on our Park Hopper because we are usually completely exhausted and sleep deprived on Day One and I don't see us spending more than three hours at any park-- but I wouldn't mind burning off one of the options by spending a few afternoon hours at TL or BB. But I've heard water parks on Saturdays should be avoided at all costs. True?

I would say not crazy. My DH and I go a lot on Saturdays during the summer, when it's the most crowded, and we noticed last weekend that it wasn't near as bad as it had been. I think now that the kids are headed back to school, you should be fine. It's also generally less crowded in the afternoon.

Have fun!

I think you'll notice a drop in the crowds in September as opposed to June, July and August. I think you'll be fine. I personally love the waterparks, especially TL-- I could spend a whole day there relaxing soaking up the atmosphere.

IMHO I wouldn't use up one of your plus options when you said you are pretty tired that first day. I would opt for lounging around the pool at your resort. Or napping and then heading to DTD later.
Again just my .02 cents.

You might be OK.....We went to BB on Saturday 8/21. Got there when it opened and it was quiet until early afternoon (the people working there commented on how few people there were). In 2-3 hours you can do LOTS of slides if there are no lines! Afternoon thunderstorms do pop up, so going earlier in the day also avoids that possibility..

Have fun!

Well, yeah, there is a very good chance we'll never even leave the resort, except for maybe a spin on the monorail! I always like the idea of doing DTD, but my dd and dh don't really "get" DTD. We always get there and they're like "so..... it's just a bunch of shops? What's fun about that?" :p I like shopping but I know where they are coming from.

Burning off a plus option doesn't bother me though. There is no way we will use all three options in our stay; plus we have 2 unused options left on our passes from our last trip three years ago. I expect to keep running an options surplus!
