I will traveling with my husband and two young kids (almost 2 and 5) October 18-25. I am trying to decide if doing a water park for one day is a good idea. I went to Typhoon lagoon as a kid and LOVED it. It was one of my favorite days while at disney world. I would like my kids to have that experience too but I am worried it will be too cold, especially for small kids. Thoughts?

We went to both water parks this past october, around the end of the month, and loved it! We had my cousin'd four year old daughter and she as a blast. It was definitely warm enough but we had a warm week. The crowds were really low as well. We hardly waited for anything. I would definitely recommend it!

Over the past 4 years, we've spent about 30+ days at WDW in the month of October. I don't think we had a day under 80 degrees in all that time.

I, too, have visited the water parks in October. Unless there is some freaky cold front happening October is always very hot and the water parks are a nice way to cool off. Plus I've never found them to be that crowded in October verses the summer.

Like pps have said, October is usually pretty good! November-February can be pretty hit and miss!;)

We have been in October three times, and it's always swimming weather no matter what time of the month we have visited! It gets pretty hot during the day, but not as humid as the summer months when you get towards the end of October. Usually early mornings and evenings get a little cooler, but during the day, you should be fine to swim.

Thanks for all the advice. Sounds like October is a great time to visit the world. Not too hot and not too cold, and less crouds. :cool1:

October is very nice, but it will be plenty warm in the daytime. Great for water parks, but "hot" for touring the parks. :earsboy:

It was HOT last October...even miserably hot & humid for several days during our Oct. 19-24 trip (heat index was in the upper 90's). It won't be too cold.

We were at WDW Oct 5-13 last year. I don't remember exactly which day we went to Typhoon Lagoon, but we had a great time. We went in the afternoon after spending the morning at Epcot. There were plentiful lounge chairs to choose from, the lazy river was almost empty, and we rode the Crush 'n Gusher many times as a walk-on. Compare that to our August 2012 visit where getting there at opening was necessary to find lounges and they stayed filled up all day, the lazy river was bumper-to-bumper, and it was too hot to stand long lines for the slides! We enjoyed the near-empty park in October. The water was a tiny bit chilly for me, but I'm very cold-natured and a big weenie when it comes to cool water. :rotfl: I only like swimming when the pool feels like bathwater. My DBF and my DS thought it was fantastic.

We did water parks in both February and March so you will be fine in October.
