Is there much for a toddler at the WDW water parks? What are the pros and cons of Blizzard Beach vs. Typhoon Lagoon for a 2-yr-old?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

My ds was almost 3 on our last trip. We did Typhoon Lagoon. That was his absolute favorite thing on the whole trip. He really loved it all, the parks, the characters, everything, but when he talks about "Mickey's House" he always talkes about the water place. He liked the toddler area and really loved playing in the sand. We bought an ice cream sundae that came in a bucket with a little shovel and he loved playing in the sand with it. Blizzard Beach does not have any sand that I can recall.

I have been to both with a 2 year old (and a 3 year old) and while both are fun, BB is better for the tolder and young preschool crowd.

There is a section called Tikes Peak that is fun. There is only one enterance and it has a number of small slides that a parent can go down with the child on their lap (or child by themselves.) It has sand play area, (bring toys) jumping water and places just to hang.

In addtion the wave pool at BB is a lot more milder and easier to take young kids in (and hold in the waves.) TL wave can knock even adults over.

Both have a lazy river you can take the todler on. They have life jackets you can borrow.

It can be a really fun time. Especailly if the weather is good. :sunny:

If you are staying at a very good resort (Y&BC) you can get away with out going. However if you want to go to a water park, don't hold off because of a 2 year old. My DD loved it.

BB is better then TL, but if your heart is set on TL, there is kids stuff there too and both are lot's of fun.

Have a good time. :teeth:

Thanks for the tips! Anyone ever have a bad experience with a toddler at a water park?

I also vote for BB. Last year we took my dd (2 1/2) to BB. It is her absolute favorite. We tried Typhoon Lagoon and she does not like it as well. BB is all she talks about. She loves the slides and the lazy river. We are leaving in 2 weeks and she can't wait to go to BB. If she could see the princesses at BB we would never have to go to the other parks. :)

I did BB with DS1.5 last year. He really liked it. Tikes Peak was great for him and we also did the lazy river. We haven't tried TL, so I can't compare the two.
