Water Package?

EDIT: By the way, does anyone have any more details on the water package that comes with the cooler bag? I don't care about the water, but I wouldn't mind a DCL cooler bag if it's actually good. Where do you buy that?
I purchased just the bag from the bartender at the adult pool bar on one of our cruises. No need to have it filled with ice and beverage.

Is that a serious question? Or, is it so difficult to compute that someone not drinking from the tap may also avoid it from a soda machine?
Ok I get it. You are buying or bringing bottled water on board and you are not eating any food on board prepared with the ships potable water. Does that sum things up?😊

Some people prefer bottled water. However, the water on ships are made the same way as bottled water. So it is the purist water you will ever drink. Now if you buy some of the branded waters that add minerals to give them a specific taste, you might not like ships water, because so few people anymore know what unaltered natural water tastes like. It basically has no taste. Packing a refillable water container is all you need IMHO.
I think my first reply sums it up. Just know the rules if you are carrying on bottled water. Either way you will be fine.

Amazing inference. Keep going. Post # 58 is next.

There is so much incorrect in your first post that I didn't want to address it directly. It's essentially upside down. Let's see.

1. "the water on ships are made the same way as bottled water."

Bottled water like Evian is never treated like that on board. It is sourced from a glacial aquifer and only filtered to remove impurities. Nothing added, no enhancements. The water on board, on the contrary, is heavily treated. It has to be constantly chlorinated to cleanse from the bacteria and germs that would grow in storage and transport. Read the first paragraph of post #14 carefully.

2. "So it is the purist water you will ever drink."

If a heavily treated water is your definition of "purist" water, then sure. No water anywhere is pure - unless you want buy the distilled water sold in pharmacies. THAT is pure, but I would love to watch you finish more than half a glass of it at a time. :drinking1

3. "what unaltered natural water tastes like. It basically has no taste. "

Natural water has a LOT of taste. Natural, unaltered water has minerals. It's not coming from a distillation lab. It occurs in nature mixed with all that the nature has to offer. That natural taste is what gives each aquifer source a distinction.

So....... now that we all better understand the nuances in the production and distribution of water, :crazy2: we are on the 2/5 Fantasy sailing and are interested in purchasing the bottled water package. My question is "do the packages offered on the Navigator app include the bag?"

Steve

I will admit to skipping through a lot of the posts here so I may have missed it being posted already and apologies if this is duplicative. :teeth: We bought the water package on our December sailing on the Wonder. They only had Dasani and it was in aluminum bottles and did not include the bag. The price of the package was the same on the ship as it was if it had been pre-purchased, and was just under $70 for a pack of 24 including tip & taxes.

Wow, they make a lot on that water. Not sure if Dasani in an aluminum bottle costs more than the plastic bottle, but we pay 23 cents a bottle for Dasani bottled water, delivered, for our Little League Snack Bar. That $5.53 a case plus $1.20 a case redemption value, so $6.73 a case.

People who bring a refillable water bottle on board, how do you wash it?? I wouldn’t feel comfortable drinking from a bottle for 5-7 days that hadn’t been washed at minimum every other day (at home we wash them every day). I don’t really want to bring soap and a bottle scrubber in addition to the bottle, I am already an overpacker as it is! I’m wondering if there is a hack for washing bottles while traveling.

Bottle Bright: https://bottlebright.com/

Also useful at home at times (eg that thermos mug that didn't get cleaned soon enough that no matter how you wash it is just kind of funky ? Bottle Bright with hot water and left overnight solved the issue...).

ETA: We do also bring some dish soap.

on the 12/5 fantasy cruise
the water/bag package or beer/bag package was available
it was 6 water or 6 beer in the bag with ice
we saw them on deck and they were available on Castaway Cay

Related question, can we fill our cooler bag with ice from the drink machine before getting off the ship so our water will be cool for the drive home? Will ice in a cooler make it through customs??

Which Port? Should be no problem at Canaveral.

Which Port? Should be no problem at Canaveral.
Yes, at Canaveral. We drive and park at the port so it would be nice to have our water cool and ready for the drive. I usually freeze a few bottles so those should stay cold in the fridge during the cruise but I figure we will need to add ice to the bag to keep the water cold on the trip home. Thanks!
