Does anybody know what the weight limit is for these? I realize they can seat 2 people.

My wife (105 lbs.) and me (175) took out a water mouse last year at DD. We both fit in it ok. The problem was that we sure did slow the thing down. Some kids were out on the water cruising past us. It looked like we were in slo-mo.

Don't know if there is a "wight limit", but how much you are carrying will detemine how fast you go.

Off the top of my head, 300 pounds comes to mind. For speed and more fun however, you probably want to keep the weight well under that.

Yep, it is a 300LB limit. But, do keep in mind that it really does slow you down having 2 adults in one boat. If you really want to be in the same boat together, maybe consider renting a pontoon boat. You'll be much more comfortable and you can lounge out on the pontoon.

Hubby and I thought we'd rent one together, but we were told that in reality, they are built to hold an adult and a child. We ended up renting two of them and had such a fun time. Hubby kept complaining that his was much slower than mine. Hmmmm....could have something to do with that 75 pound weight difference. ;)

Anyway....rent two of them...you'll have soooo much fun zipping around the lakes!!!

Another hint...make sure you rent from either the Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary. Any of these gives you access to two LARGE lakes. I rented one last summer for myself and my daughter at the Caribbean Beach, and the one lake there is very small in comparison.

Have fun!!

I agree with TwinMom7. Definitely rent one over at the Magic Kingdom resorts. We rented from The Poly a couple of years ago and had a blast. The Water mice are my DH's absolute favorite thing to do while at WDW. A year later when we went back without the kids we made the double mistake of renting one for both of us to share (can you say SLOW?) and renting it over at the Boardwalk (can you say BORING?) That whole lake is a no wake zone! We had to pay again so my DH could go over to The Poly and go a second time! Anywhoo, rent them over by the Magic Kingdom (we like to rent at the Poly obviously) and get two and get them for an hour! Worth every penny. They are a blast, espescially when you can go fast!

I think it's around 300-350. They are one of the best things to do at WDW!!!! One of my favorites...:D Rent them from the Contempo. The rides over there are the best. You can go so close to a monorail passing by, it's awesome!

...love them sooooo much, I am beginning to think the reason why we visit WDW is to rent the Water Mice!!!! Now, our decision of which resort we stay at is partially based upon whether the Water Mice are available or not!!!! (so, it's CBR and WL for us this summer....:D )

Countdown to WDW:

2 months - 23 days - 3 hours - 28 minutes until our NEXT FUN-FILLED FAMILY ADVENTURE (including the "Mickey boats" [that's what my DS's call them]:D )

we rented them last year. my wife (about 110) had fun but i (260) had to spend the time watching here run circles around me. it was very, very, slow. i really didnt enjoy it at all. for me probably wasnt much faster than paddling a canoe.

I was on one Thursday. The weight limit posted on the dashboard is 320 pounds.

Hi, this sounds like big fun :D A safety question - If going on one of these boats with a 4 year old, are there life jackets and/or seat belts? Also, how deep is the deepest water you will be riding in if using the boats at the Poly?
Thanks :)

there are all sizes of life jackets... and if you rent at the Polynesian or the other MK resorts, you'll be boating in some fairly deep water, as you'll be on the lagoon itself. But it's lots of fun... just make sure the fronts of your thighs are slathered with sunscreen. I didn't put any on mine and I got burned there:(
