What type of water filter system do you use in your home? We purchase several packages of bottle water a week, I would like to cut down on the cost and help the environment. TIA

I use the Brita pitcher. I buy the filters at Costco (usually when they have a coupon). I also think the filters can be recycled at Whole Foods.

We are considering a reverse osmosis system. (Just got a new fridge that haas an icemaker and a water dispenser.)

We were at a home show this weekend, and the estimate (verbal of course) was $604 plus $40 for the permit fee - if that helps you at all.

This is the only copnay we've looked at - so don't knwo if this is a deal or not.

We have a RO at our kitchen sink. It's a lot cheaper to replace the filters than it is to by bottled water.

We use a Brita pitcher at the lake house and DD(24yo) has a PURE pitcher that she keeps in the fridge at school. Both of these work about the same.

I use a brita pitcher...we have extremely hard water that tastes HORRIBLE (which is funny b/c the town next to ours has some of the best tap water in the entire state). The Brita does the trick.

We have this, which was already installed when we bought our house about 18 months ago. I'm not very "handy" so I probably wouldn't try to install it myself, but someone who is handy could probably self-install.
