Having sailed in a bump out cabin and a cabin next to a bump out, neither felt less private to me.

We sailed on the Wish and didn't think there was any issue with privacy on the balconies.

Same as above. We had a bump out balcony on the Wish and it was amazing. Definitely not less private and our balcony was noticeably larger than the ones that aren't bump-outs. Would definitely recommend.
