Is the MK welcome show viewable from outside the turnstyles? Where would the best spot be? We have friends traveling with us who've never been to WDW and I would love them to see the welcome show but they don't have park tix for that day (DH and I do). I was hoping they could see the show and then go on a tour of the monorail resorts before meeting up with us again for MNSSHP that evening.

They could go through bag check area and then stand in the middle area beyond them, but before the tapstiles.

Thanks Dan! That was exactly what I needed to see. Despite my many trips, I'm always as close as humanely possible to the front so I had no clue if anyone could see from back there LOL!

Wouldn't that be about a 7 hour tour? I'd probably want to head back to the hotel for a swim or to DTD.

They won't get a very good view. Unless they just adore the idea waking up early to see a mostly obstructed view of the show, I would recommend that they skip it. Personally, I can think of a couple of hundred things I would rather do with that time.

Perhaps a leisurely breakfast of Mickey waffles then a monorail tour followed by the party later that evening would be better? I wouldn't want my first view of the show to be obstructed.

Yes you will have a clear view standing outside of the turnstyles once you go thru bag check. This guy is standing between the turnstyles on either side. Just stand here in front of the planter and you'll have a perfect view. The show is up on the railroad platform so everyone infront of you should not block the view unless someone stands up on the planter.

***shaking head***

For starters, NO, they won't spend the ENTIRE time from park opening to our meet up touring the resorts. They'll tour the resorts and then go do whatever they want (swim, nap, etc) until we get back together at 2pm at the resort.

Second, the ONLY day they will have at MK on the trip will be the MNSSHP so their only chance to see the show is like this. I wasn't even going to suggest they watch it but when I told them what WE were doing that morning they asked if there was a way to see the show from outside. Again, it's THEIR vacation too and if they want to see the show (even somewhat obstructed from far away who am I to stop them?).

After seeing Dan's picture, I figured we'd try to situate them right in the middle between the turnstyles like the second photo shows.

Hasn't there been discussion on this very board that they aren't doing the Welcome show every morning? And that there's no real way to know ahead of time if they are going to do it or not?

Anything's possible. If there is no show then they can go about their morning tour and what not. If there is one then bonus. I have a feeling the Tonga toast breakfast will be enough of a draw to get them out of bed LOL!

AFAIK there is a welcome show every morning, although sometimes it is an abbreviated version that may not have a train or all the characters etc.

On EMH mornings the show is timed for the EMH opening, and there is not a show at the regular non-EMH opening time.
