We are leaving MCO on 10/12 and had a 12:20pm non-stop to BDL. I received an email this morning stating that they had changed my 12:20 to 12:30 and now it was stopping in ATL . . .

I called up and stated how I had a non-stop and now it was being changed to a 1 stop and stated I wanted the next available NON-STOP flight . . .I was given the 6:55pm flight with no problem or cost to me . . .

I'm not sure why when they make changes like that they don't email you and give you an option rather than just sticking you on the closest flight time without thinking whether or not you wanted a stop . . .:confused3 I mean you would just assume someone who booked a non-stop flight would want a non-stop flight . . .

I just figured I'd give the heads up . . .:thumbsup2

expecting way more "thinking" than the airline computers actually do!!!;) My guess is their prime parameter is closest time not the number of stops. Glad you were able to get a more acceptable alternative!

That is exactly why I'm going with Southwest for our next trip. I got sick and tired of Delta making changes and not notifying me. They would make nearly 10 changes each time we booked and never told us. I had to check the booking details every day just to make sure they didn't make changes that were too drastic.

Time changes have worked in my favor my last 2 trips with Delta. I was on award tickets and the flights I really wanted were more miles. So I waited for Delta to make a time change, called and got switched to the flights I really wanted.

We've even allowed Delta to "bump" us to a later flight once. It was only 3 hours later but they refunded half the cost of our tickets to us. It was back on our card halfway through the trip. $500 more spending money for us for just missing 3 hours of our first day. Some people may see that as a waste but our first day is a day at DTD. No parks. So it really doesn't matter to us what time we get there as long as it isn't too late. We always fly out around 6am and when we got bumped we left at 9:15am. No big deal. We still got to Disney by 12:30pm. Just in time for lunch. :cool1:
