I don't know exactly what the room discounts are - they don't publish them and you can't book them online - you have to call to get the quote. I do know they are always better than Florida Resident and Passholder room discounts which are sometimes as high as 30-35%. I know one time we were booked at Pop with a Florida Resident discount (maybe Passholder), when my parents decided to come with us we switched to the military discount and were able to stay at POR for a few dollars less than what we had booked at Pop.

Lol! I did bought the cooler bag last year! It was nice for bottles waters in the park, but I'm gonna try to pack lighter this time so I don't think I'll bring it.

i carry next to nothing in the parks. my camera alone weight too much!!!
The cooler bag can be for the car ride.. and for my day at the ball fields!!!
anything else i can think of.. I have to justify buying it so i must use it as much as possible!!!

AS you know i bought a Pin lot from E-bay. i just went through them and looked up Pins and scrappers etc.

Then i read this blog about traders:

Which showed me most if not all these pins are scrappers!!! the thing of it is. I am in NO WAY a pin junkie, someone who knows a lot about them etc..
I like them. they are cute. Disney will trade them I will be contacting the seller to let him he is a bad man for selling crap.

On that site it does give a couple of ebay sellers who are reputable. I might have to buy another lot of pins of the mentioned sellers!!! just don't buy from:

We have used the military tickets twice - in March we paid $169 each for 4 day tickets with park hoppers. We only had 4 days to spend at the parks so it worked for us, but like D~ mentioned, there's no easy way to add on past 4 days. A military member is limited to 6 of the special tickets per year (not sure if this is calendar or not). I'm going to check the fine print for using consecutively and using for the same person and I will report back.

I wouldn't worry about the scrapper pins. We have been buying our traders from eBay for years and I've never had a cast member question a pin. I also know that I've traded with cast members and ended up wtih scrappers. As long as you are just in it for fun and not trying to make money, I wouldn't worry about it.

So, I completely forgot you asked about our horse. Cooper is doing well, considering. I don't think I've mentioned it on the DIS, but right after we returned from our Spring Break trip, Cooper had to have surgery. While we were at Disney, DH noticed a growth on Cooper's gums. It grew very quickly and we had to have it removed. It ended up being a cancerous tumor that required removal of a tooth and shaving of his jaw bone. The cancer will most likely recur. So far, he is doing well. We've opted out of chemo/radiation because we just don't want to put him through all of that (not to mention the expense). He's 5 years old, which can be mid-late life for a Great Dane so we're just going to continue to love him hard for whatever time he has left. How old is your Great Dane? I feel guilty writing that we are opting out of treatment, but I hope you'll trust me when I say that it wasn't a purely financial decision and we did a lot of soul searching to decide what was best for Cooper and our family.

See this is why I was/am so reluctant to do the pin trading. How do I know...as I am walking through the parks....that the pin I am trading for is legit? I read up on it last year and was very worried about starting. Bradey traded a couple, but none of us really got into it because you just don't know.

You would like to think that the CMs know...but none of them I traded with even looked at ours. They just stuck them on their lanyards and went on their way to the next guest. How did they know mine wasn't a bad one? They will just trade it to someone else. If it was a scrapper....that next person would get it.

I know mine I bought were ok because I bought them right from TDS online or from the Poly down there.

Ya know...... I'm not. i have bought SO many pin lots off of Disney. and the kids trade like crazy. its not like we are looking for a special one of a kind pin, or we aren't looking for series. They like a couple of them and if they see one off of a CM they like they will trade there too. I honestly don't care if WE get a scrapper if they like it we will put it on the AWESOME pin board Suzi made and trade the ones they don't like. I just hope we don't upset anyone else in this.

don't be. on that site i posted they mentioned a couple of buyers of who to buy from. so this way you can feel a little better about buying. Disney police is not going to come after you...

I am with everyone else, we don't know much about the pins but we will just keep what we like and trade what we don't. we are in it for the fun of it so i really don't care if they are "real" or not...

You're not kidding!! But we aren't crazy about it. We have a couple sets. They get too heavy on your lanyard to have more than that. I have my princess shoes and cupcakes. Bradey has his Duffy collection. That's it. I have a few I will trade that I got on sale on TDS. I would love to get the villain shoe set too!

Your huge Chicago DIS meet is around the corner. How do I know? Because my flight is 3 weeks from Thursday out of Midway and I know you will all be together at that time.

No kidding they do get heavy!!! I only allow the pins they will either wear or trade to come to Disney with us. otherwise we have tons of them...

I really don't have much to report on. Meg had her first game yesterday she struck out once and they lost 6-5. another game tonight. then baseball meeting..

I only buy pins I want to keep, so no trading for me, but a trip or two ago, I had a young girl, probably about 7 or 8 come up to me and ask to trade for my Minnie as Tink pin. I felt so badly telling her no, but that is one of my favorites. Maybe I should buy a pin lot and have them on hand for trading.

I don't think I even wore my pin lanyard last trip since the pins are getting heavy. I may have to come up with an alternative way to carry them.

It doesn't specifically say whether you can or can't use them back to back. It says to contact the military sales outlet with any additional questions which would either be a base travel office or Shades of Green.

So, Free Dining isn't enough to make you abandon AoA?

Bad day hopefully something will budge.. Everyone is healthy happy and the trip isn't in jeopardy... more about baseball and the people who are really evil..
