Sorry about Jen not going, but we will still have bunches of fun! I have a suitcase that I keep Disney related stuff in year round. Headbands, lanyards, etc., and stuff that we use in the room - an organizer for the sink area, laundry bags, etc. Its all packed and ready to go!

I've been looking for white tshirts with black bands but so far no luck....

Because swimming in salt water sucks. I have always hated it. Living as close to the ocean as we do.....I love going to the beach, but not swimming there. Those pools on the cruise were horrible....they were unheated because that does strange stuff to salt water. They smelled horrible. I don't know, maybe others like it....but yuck. Good luck

Oh happy Friday!!!

I woke up got ready and came down the stairs........ something hit me. a beautiful smell. it was a Disney smell. can't quite explain the exact smell BUT IT WAS DISNEY!!! I have a HUGE smile on my face!! i don't know where the smell came from. I don't know what triggered it. But it was there. and i am a happy girl. the smell stayed with me until i hit the expressway. all the way i was floating on happiness!!! it may have been from my delivery yesterday:

Other news. I was off yesterday. The weather really is taking a toll on my knees. the pain was unbearable. nothing helped.
until about 11ish i called my parents asked them to go to lunch. So off we went.
Of course Disney came up i have no idea how as they are NOT Disney lovers.. I did mention how I would LOVE to get them out there.
they showed interest!!!!!!! can you believe this?!?! I am jumping OUT OF MY SKIN RIGHT NOW!!! granted my step dad is all about money and how much it will cost. that's fine. i would pay for the resort stay. they would have to pay for tickets. which he might get the military discount?? i know nothing on this.
and pay for the dining plan.
I was really looking into a Disney cruise for next year. since they showed interest in possible going to Disney the Cruise is out. Way more important to get my parent's with me!!!
So possible 2015 trip (i can't believe it!!!)
My step dad would need a wheelchair/scooter.. Rather a Scooter. can he go into a line with a scooter? Or would he have to stand in line?
He is a disabled vet. so he would have all the necessary paperwork needed. i just have NO CLUE in how to start this. D~ i need your knowledge of Military tickets...

I was a but upset for when this PTR is over the TR is over. i wouldn't have anywhere to write out my crazy life! well.. i might just be making a PTR for the family!!!!!!! how exciting!!!!!!!

Great idea to take a picture of your box of Disney stuff. I should do that soon, too. We have lots of stuff collecting in ours too... But I would like to purchase a few more things before I take the picture. Mainly, I want to get everyone's costumes purchased. We have half of them so far.

Good news on a possible trip with the fam!

For disabled people in scooters that cannot leave them they can usually ride most rides in them. Te CMs will direct you but you typically go through the FP line. We did this a lot with my MIL in her wheelchair, several rides you even park the wheelchair on the ride if you need to! Like Buzz, IASW, etc... Others you can stay in your chair/scooter through most the ride then transfer to a seat once at the front. The CMs were always so helpful!! You also have special seating at all the shows where the scooter can go.

Not sure on tickets but I'm sure there's a discount for him!

If you run into the problem I always have - we NEED more than 4 park days - so in that case, we would have to buy 2 sets of military tickets and cross our fingers that Disney lets us use them back-to-back (sometimes they don't... It's a crapshoot). Sooo... If that's the case - it's better off to buy directly from Disney (or through AAA...)... There is also, Shades of Green, the military resort on property... They also sell tickets to miliary personell - at a nice discount. The only issue with that, is that it requires a trip to SoG before you can enter any park, so you can get your tickets... And at that point, you won't be able to do any FP+ selections for him until you have the tickets. Here's the link to Shades of Green: www.shadesofgreen.org and there should be a "tickets" tab at the top. In the end, rather than deal with all the hassle... I just buy our tickets right from Disney - it's easiest.

Forgot to comment on the BBB, I think you will LOVE it! The boys probably wont care for the initial feeling you get when you walk in, but I think they will LOVE the makeovers and swords and stuff!

And you have a few different hair options, you dont have to do the super tight bun!! Some kids even bring in those wigs to look like a certain princess, but I feel thats stinks bc you are paying for your hair to get done!

MAKE SURE you walk across to Castle Couture right after your makeovers and get your photo shoot done!! (You do NOT need to buy the expensive packages with the photos included if you have the photopass bc you will get the pics free) No one told me to do that and we found out about it later that day, but most of Olivia's makeup had sweated off already.

I also loved the photos of your Disney box, mine is starting to get fuller now too, I may need to do a post on it eventually!

I saw the color one (i think?) There is NO way she will keep her hair up after we are done with the parks.. which is fine she will enjoy it for as long as she can.. i adore the bun. Saturday 2 baseball games then i was my cousins sponsor for her confirmation (2 hour mass ) my wedding was shorter. then had the party afterwards.
Sunday worked job #2 then had the kids school sports banquet.

If your parents make the trip, both of your rooms should qualify for a military discount - it's usually pretty substantial. He just has to actually be there when you check in to both rooms and you need to book them together and you can't do it online. Our last trip, we went with my parents (my dad is retired Navy) and I called and booked both rooms with my dad's military discount but I put our own credit cards on each room. It worked out great!

I just read the details and it says your have to be active duty or retired so I don't know if it would apply in your step dad's situation. Worth a phone call.

I wasn't suggesting that you stay there, I was suggesting that you could buy your tickets from them. YOu can do that.

However - as an added note SoG is a GORGEOUS resort - it used to be a Disney resort (the Golf Resort) before the DoD purchased it from Disney to use for Military personell... I am hoping, with the huge remodel they are undertaking, they will add a decent restaurant/food court. However - we are now spoiled by FQ, so I am not sure we could ever go back?

If your parents make the trip, both of your rooms should qualify for a military discount - it's usually pretty substantial. He just has to actually be there when you check in to both rooms and you need to book them together and you can't do it online. Our last trip, we went with my parents (my dad is retired Navy) and I called and booked both rooms with my dad's military discount but I put our own credit cards on each room. It worked out great!

I just read the details and it says your have to be active duty or retired so I don't know if it would apply in your step dad's situation. Worth a phone call.

Yes, you will... Sometimes cheaper doesn't = better though, there are some inconveniences to think about, which to me aren't always worth it.

However - as an added note SoG is a GORGEOUS resort - it used to be a Disney resort (the Golf Resort) before the DoD purchased it from Disney to use for Military personell...
