Finally i am doing an update! 
we all woke up at a decent hour enough for me to crawl out of bed and have my first cup of coffee before the craziness started.
as i was coming down the stairs ALL the kids came running at me.. ELFY IS BAAAAAAAAAAAACK.
yes, Elfy returned to have thanksgiving with our family. Elfy came with tricks and a letter.
the letter stated for the children to clean up their act, stay nice and respectful to each other, listen to Mom and Dad. then he decided to take an erasable marker- drew on ALL my photographs. ALL. people had beards. eye patches, my poor lion had alien ears and antenna's. my mirrors had little elfin doo dads everywhere.
pictures? Nope not a one. mostly because my woobie was put away into my room. and i had no idea where my cell phone was.
Sorry yet i am sure you can imagine... Elfy was hanging behind my lion picture HOLDING the marker. the jerk didn't even the decency to HIDE the evidence. 
Well the letter must have gotten to the midgets because this happened:
they took the cleaning up your act statement literally.
one full can of pledge, and a very strong smell of lemon later i have a clean house.
this elf may come in handy after all.... 
the time has come to start the FOUL. the kids were way too excited. I had just purchased a roaster and had no clue in how to use it. directions? yeah they were there.
in went the ugly monstrosity of a bird. covered and let it go.. started on every other thing we needed. the Thanksgiving parades were on. Kids wanted to watch the Chicago one, instead of the Macy's!! at 9am Jen and family started a new tradition of playing football. i declined since i had to cook so Tom took the kids and met them out. i don't know how long they were gone because i had my music, dancing around the kitchen cooking, and cleaning up as i went along. did i mention i had my cider?? yep went from wine to cider in a blink of an eye.
side note here. I HAVE... MUST... NEED, to ensure i wash dishes as i use them.. i don't know why it's an OCD thing with me...
then the light bulb happened...
I totally forgot about the turkey BREAST i bought! **facepalm** go running around the house trying to find it. I have a small fridge in the basement to help.. Nope not there!
back upstairs moving everything around. PHEW! there you are! rub this NASTY thing down throw it in the oven... Oops. thankfully it was early enough it would be done by dinner time
next thing i knew the door was opened and 3 frozen children and wounded husband came walking/stumbling in... the kids were very excitingly chattering about the fun they all had and how Dad is old and fat and can't keep up..
they CRACK ME UP!! i guess Tom had pulled several muscles during TAG football. I guess Chris took Jen out and found herself on the flat of her back. Hearing all the i was even MORE overjoyed i stayed home cooking, cleaning, drinking. 
after everyone took warm showers they were more the willing to help!
zack was my sous-chef. Meg played D.J. to keep the party ROCKIN! Matt? well he was... Being Matt. watching TV or whatever it was to keep him out of the kitchen.
As Zack played Chef Ramsey telling me it needed more salt, or "YOU DONKEY IT'S COLD" we were getting things done SO EASILY! laughing, dancing, playing, joking around, next thing we knew it was time... ALL of the food was done at the same time....
I'm getting good at this...
turkey was literally FALLING apart in the roaster. GEESH that cooks QUICK! the breast was done too!
then was the:
creamed spinach
Cheesy potatoes (which are now called Zack potatoes) i think they are called funeral potatoes?
Parm encrusted squash
stuffing - first time it came out PERFECTLY! this was my 3rd year making it totally by myself 3rd times a charm!!! i was SO DELIGHTED!
smashed potatoes (we're Irish remember)
DONE!
my SIL/BIL came and brought pies galore, and German potato salad (way too much vinegar for me.
My Mom had 2 hams, green bean casserole
corn
sweet potatoes
a couple of desserts...
of course BREAD! lots of rolls and stuff.
gettin ready to CHOW DOWN!
Lex was trying his darndest to get any scrap of food...
all i can say was.
YUMMMMMMMMMM oh MY GLORIOUS FOOD it was delish! first year ever everything came out PERFECT! i was so happy! I wasn't tired, i wasn't in the mood for murder, it was PERFECT!
after dinner Tom and my Mom do the clean up...
there were enough leftovers for a second and a third thanksgiving! by Monday of that week if i even saw an inkling of Thanksgiving food i was going to be 
Yet i was MORE then happy with having all the desserts...
made plans with my Mom to do our black Friday shopping. we were going to leave about 4:30am to hit the few stores needed.
Toys R Us wasn't great i did get a couple of things. then to Target. Here is where i found most deals and most of what i needed!
after a looooooong time i finally pulled my mom OUT and off we went to petsmart.
had AWESOME deals!!! i am not telling what i bought of course. you have to wait until Christmas like everyone else....
then was the big one.

Mom wanted to get the kids/Tom and I - clothes and who am i to argue with her?
shopping bags FULL to the rim i have to get her out of this store! she is shopping like she has millions!
i was a bit silly at this point and found almost everything and anything funny. i was in DESPERATE need of coffee. lots and lots of caffeine. Starbucks it IS!!! thank GOD. as i am singing and dancing in line yes others were staring i received my heaven in a cup we were on our way HOME!!!
I had to get back to try and nap before my job #2 started! able to get home more then enough time to take a quick nap!
didn't get home until 1am from job #2 since they were open over 24 hours and it was a WRECK! i can say it glistened when we were all done with it!
So there you have my Thanksgiving weekend! it was a HOOT!!!
looking forward to next year when the kids will be even more inclined to help!
Next up? I allow Christmas decorations.

the next morning i was more then eager to RID of the oranges hues and get into some CHRISTMAS DECORATING!
yep i am one of those who do not allow Christmas interfere with Thanksgiving.
Every year i have a Friend/Brother who stays with us around New years for a couple of nights.
It has turned into a tradition for Him to take down ALL Christmas decorations. It has turned into my tradition to put up every single decoration i can find.
I put up stuff the kids made back with they were 4.

this weekend i took the kids to see Frozen with Meg's girl scout troop.

I wasn't expecting much out of this one. I WAS WRONG oh so VERY WRONG!
the message is fantastic! the characters are the best! something for everyone in this movie...
Frozen has made it up for my top 5 movies.
This past weekend!!!
Friday as you know i was so beat down tired.. i haven't felt like that in ages..
i got through it.
Saturday was our FIRST games!!! thankfully they were home games so i didn't have to go very far.
got there about 9am for set up. Tom had to take the boys to their First basketball game EVER! and i was going to miss it.
well it went well! my grade was first to host, they all came when they were supposed to, brought baked goods for the sale (trying to get more money in)
good news:
8th won
5th won (my team from last year i still help them)
4th won (my girls) all three matches!
The psych 7th grade coach? LOST!
my BIL said somehow this will be his fault...
the boys also won their very first game too!!!i was so proud of all the kids!!!
The boys were picked up from the school by a friend of mine for her son's birthday party, THANK GOD. because they were getting a little rambunctious at the school with their friends. I was to pick them at 5:30. I got home from the volleyball games about 2, meg showered and we were off AGAIN to pick up the boys.
we needed a Christmas tree. I usually buy the tree around the 15th in tradition of my Mom and (deceased Dad) anniversary, Thats not long enough so this year we go it NOW!
we also bought this really cool jukebox that has 18 Christmas songs which is wireless remote to the tree! The kids have been wanting the dancing lights show forever. which i was secretly wanting it too to remember the Osborn lights... This will do..
Tom started to put up the tree which is a little bigger then expected.
he put it up. i figured he was just throwing it up for it to thaw.. this poor tree was FROZEN SOLID. he actually thought it was straight.
The tree was at a lovely 90 degree angle...
Went to fix it... the thing FELL ON HIM... I could NOT contain myself. it was the funniest thing i have ever witnessed! like a turtle on his back! OH HOW I WISH i had a device that would take a picture.. sadly i didn't. no where in site.
after him struggling to get out of under the tree he got it back up.
for it to fall again.
and again
and again.
it never got old...
never.
finally he was able to get it up to where it wouldn't fall completely until the next morning.
Then yesterday.....
I had made plans with my friend Chunk (rob) to go shooting. i haven't been out in SO LONG for a recreational shoot. i was really looking forward to this.
then we hit a cold snap... Cold isn't the word... i'm talking 20 below type temps.. I can dress for that. My woobie doesn't do well in that. on to Plan B Chunk text me. want to go to Museum of Science and industry? OH SAVE THE DAY! YES YES YES!!! this is where they have the "treasures of Walt Disney Archives" Of course i wanted to go.

I took the kids with as they were really excited to see Walt's desk and archives as well.
Chunk picked us up about 9:30 and off we went.
It was AMAZING. Teary eyed amazing!!!we spent HOURS in the exhibit more hours meandering around...saw that is started to snow... and a lot of it. We were all getting a bit grumbly.. we needed FOOD! left the museum about 3. and on our way to Riccobene's! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
as we were there a College film student was there filming a mobster movie
the kids liked watching that... BUT THEN...
Lo and behold...
Santa and Mrs Clause walked in. my kids FREAKED. no they weren't part of the silly movie being filmed. they must have gotten hungry from their long sleigh ride.. the kids kept coming up with excuses to walk past them, My straw is broken, i need ketchup, i need napkins (when there was an abundance) bathroom, you name it.
Meg kept saying she didn't see the reindeer. I just pointed up to the roof. Her eyes got HUGE and said OHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAh.
They had gotten their food and loaded a mini van... well that must NOT have been the real santa but their helpers? NOPE they took the van because of the Chicago air laws today... (thank you Museum!)
took us FOREVEr to get home, it snowed. People forgot how to drive. it was stupid.
i was so excited to get home to look at my pictures!!!
The kids had other activities in mind.
we decorated stockings, played sorry, then played headbandz (disney of course) I looked at the clock and it was time for bed.
TODAY i am going to edit my pictures because i am REALLY excited to show them to you! i guess i should pay some bills too....

Sounds like you had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving. All your food looks absolutely delicious!!! I'm with Suzi though...where are the pie pictures?

IT WAS AMAZING! i cannot believe it! it was PERFECT, did you see that?? PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am really excited to make it AGAIN!! this time the bottom crust will be done different.
I made it with cinnabon rolls!!! i have to change it a bit. it was DRY... other then that OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGGG it was DELISH!!!

Finally caught up after being off of the DIS for Thanksgiving! Sounds like you had a wonderful holidat. Mine was a bit more laid back being just me, Jim and my Mom. Jim does all of the cooking so I didn't have to wrestle with the bird. Mom and I slept in while he cooked and then after lunch we went and saw Frozen. I have to agree that it is now one of my favorites. And my non-Disney loving husband? He said he wouldn't mind going and seeing it again and he also downloaded "Let it Go" to his iPod. I'm going to get him converted if it's the last thing I do!

Sounds like a fabulous Thanksgiving! We had a great day too. Two of my brothers, sil, niece and her fiancé came as well as 2 of my kids. We had a good dinner and watched football all day, with the best game on last 
. I cooked, Charlie cleaned up!
We still don't have a tree I had planned to get one this past weekend, but I shopped all day on Saturday and wasn't anywhere near where I have to go to pick out a tree (I have a gift certificate for one), and Sunday we had terrible weather - 6 inches of snow in a couple of hours. I stayed in and sewed all day.

Isn't that song the best?!?! i LOVE THAT!!! between that and the song from Brave Touch the sky.. my daughter has them on repeat about 75 times a day!

Sounds like a fabulous Thanksgiving! We had a great day too. Two of my brothers, sil, niece and her fiancé came as well as 2 of my kids. We had a good dinner and watched football all day, with the best game on last

i got a text from Jen the other days asking about the dates.. I told her when..
then i just got a text from her RIGHT NOW... Chris put in for his time off.. Jen has her time off..
SO THE FIRST STEP IS DONE!!!!
then she tells me
YES they are a go for the POLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
OH HOLY COW i have never been SO EXCITED!!! they are finally getting into this! well Jen has been excited. Now that Chris has his time put in.. he is getting excited as well...
i cannot tell you all how much this makes me SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!
they are now on to the ADR stuff... I told her to jump on here so we can talk about it all without the prying eyes of children!

I have been following a construction update on the poly thread. it's still ALL rumors.
like Jen and i talked about it. we will book the Poly we will GO THERE if it's bad. we will ask to be moved. no big deal.. I can't worry about this. WE have 8 months who knows what will happen in 8 months!
