Wasting away again in Loserville-(all welcome to grab an adult beverage and come in)

Before I was a Mom

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -

I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom

I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,

the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Boy did I need that....thanks!!!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LOSERS

I have had the best Mother's Day ever. DS is in the Army and is now somewhere in the Middle East. I made up my mind I would not cry because I could not talk to him today.

During lunch my cell phone rang, I did not recognize the number, and it was my DS calling to wish me a Happy Mothers Day. Forget about not crying. But these were tears of joy.

Just needed to share.

Best Mother's Day gift I've heard of today!

 Glad your DS was able to call today

My MIL (and myself to a lesser point) was in that situation when FE was deployed last year.

Lara, I was thinking of you as I was copying and pasting! :goodvibes How is the boy?
I agree, best mother's day present of the day. A phone call from a far away child! :cloud9:

Morning all....fever broke last night...then came back in the middle of the night, but not really like the other times....now there is zero fever....I'm praying that we're done. I will not know for sure until about 7 when all the medication is out of his system. Didn't get a lot of sleep again last night, but I'm really hoping we're done with this episode.

Schools are also delayed for two hours. Wide spread power outages and dangerous road conditions (bad storms all night). That gives me an extra two hours to figure out what's going on today.

Lara,

Sorry your little guy has been having such a rough go of it right now.....not to mention you :sad2: Hopefully the worst is over & he's bouncing back now.

hrh_disney_queen, that poem (?) was great. Gave me a smile and made me mist up a little. I'm glad you shared it with us.

tngramma, I am so glad you got that phone call.

Still sending my good thoughts your way, Lara.

Nothing going on here. I have to do some laundry and that's about it.

tngramma~Awww! So glad you got that call from DS! :goodvibes

Lara~ Hope the boy is better. Sending good thoughts your way.

To everyone else, hope your Mother's day was wonderful. :lovestruc

Not much going on here. House needs to be at cleancom 2 by dinner tonight (my BIL will be here). Upstairs is clean and ready (except for the toys in the bathtub), but the downstairs floors need work. Shouldn't take too long. Oh, and the dishwasher needs to be unloaded/reloaded. Don't know how...we didn't eat at home all weekend...:confused3 Well, except for the McDonald's breakfast that I was served yesterday!:cutie:

Other than that, not much new...DD told me yesterday that she didn't love me (typical 3 year old, right?) and DH basically told me that I was selfish and ungrateful because I didn't like my Mother's Day gift. So, umm...yeah, I don't think I want to "celebrate" that one again...:guilty: Sucks to be me, I guess...

Aw, I'm sorry yesterday could have been better for you. I think sometimes holidays like Mother's Day might foist stress and expectations onto people.

I didn't get a card. DS didn't even say "Happy Mother's Day". DH didn't even comment when the first song we danced to at our wedding played on my iPod in the car. DD did everything possible she could think of to be naughty.

But, I did get to spend time with them all and to have a nice dinner than DH and I made together. I also got to share my love for books and reading with DS the day before.

Morning everyone! Fever free since noon yesterday.

Morning everyone! Fever free since noon yesterday.

:woohoo:

Went to DS5's End of preschool show last night, I cried, The theme was Kids In Motion so they did all these physical songs and stuff, well 3 years ago when he started there he still needed assitance coming up and down steps bc of his hypontonia. Yet last night he did the whole rountine, kept up with all the kids, sweated like a pig, and had a good time. I was so proud of him, oops here I go again, need tissues....

That's awesome. I take so many of my kids achievements for granted. Way to go to your DS!! You should be proud!

Does this mark the END of his school year??:scared: I don't even want to think about that here..

Awwww, it's one of those happy/sad occasions. I bawled when I dropped Nick off at Kdg. that first day. Man, that was hard. I felt like I was out of a job and no one needed me anymore. Now he is finishing 5th grade(next week) and I will probably cry again. Can't help it--I'm a cryer. I have tears in my eyes right now!

Good Morning Losers.

Awwww... that is wonderful. What a great accomplishment for your guy. :cheer2:

DS6 has his end of the year celebration on Monday. They are doing a slideshow of pics from their year at kindergarten. I can guarantee you I'll cry.

Ds5 last day is May 21, not sure why they had the show so early. I am not looking forward to them being home everyday. Ds10 goes into June

We've been the same way...seems like ever since testing ended, they gave the kids a mini break from homework. Now they are back to doing homework but my kids have pretty much checked out of doing it. I really have to get on them to finish it..
