Was live now great memories from the 9/21 DVC Member Cruise!

Wow this is so cool!!!! Have fun you guys :)

So DVC has a DVC member special cruise?? Cool!

Have a great cruise. I remember how much fun we had on the Member Cruise last year....wish we could be there this year....oh well, another year hopefully...

Thanks for the well wishes everyone and Andy thanks so much for the awesome photo's!

Karen & Mike - happy to hear you made it to FL. Best wishes settling in and we'll give you a call when we get back on Thursday!

Oops - the above was from me - didn't realize Mark was logged in. :lmao:

Hello everyone! Day one is coming to a close and what a WONDERful day it has been.

We have a great DIS group on this cruise and have really enjoyed getting to know each other over the past year. At the DIS meet today we celebrated some of that fun. Gary OKWMember presented awards for our online game. Those who posted at the 100 mark were pirates while those who posted at the 99 mark were deemed Elizabeth Swans. So he gave out a swan to the top poster there Dave (manascarfan) and gave out a shiny red car (a Lightening McQueen toy) to the top pirate poster Annette (acourtwdw).

Robin (TnRobin) came up with a game on how well you paid attention to the thread and we gave out some DIS prizes.

We even had time for a group photo (to come from Mark tomorrow).

After a nice dinner and some shopping we went and delivered all our fish extender gifts. 5 decks later we are tired but had a great time and hope everyone enjoys the sweet treat we left.

Now we are back in the room. Tonights gift is a cute pin that says Welcome Home and a special edition of Disney files magazine listing who all we are going to see this cruise.

First up - Don "Ducky" Williams the renowned Disney illustrator whose story is a true inspiration.

Inspirations from the World of Sports include Patrick Henry Hughes (musical prodigy and game day hero) and Vince Papale (the athlete who the movie Invincible was based on). They are hosted by Linda Cohn from ESPN.

Imagineering inspirations include Tony Baxter (Sr. Vice President Creative Development Walt Disney Imagineering) and Bob Weis (Executive Vice President Creative Walt Disney Imagineering. They will be hosted by Tim O'Day who did such a great job last year.

Animation inspirations include Dorothy McKim (Development Producer Walt Disney Studios who is going to be doing an Animation Shorts festival at sea) and Floyd Normal who worked on Sleeping Beauty and will do the HD premiere of it on the Dumboton!

Last but by no means least are the Musical inspirations who will be performing on the last night. Sierra Boggess who plays Ariel on Broadway, Kissy Simmons who plays Nala from Lion King on Broadway, and Ashley Brown who plays Mary Poppins on Broadway.

It looks to be a very inspirational cruise! Good job DVC!

That lineup sounds outstanding!! Have a ball, someday my DH and I have to get on this cruise, the prizes always sound so great. Have a blast!

Heading to bed for the night, Cheryl is already snoozing. Had an awesome first day and night. Full of canapes right now. One interesting thing is that down in the lounge area hallway DVC is everywhere as is Deevey See. Many decorative overlays. And the Pixar bluebirds.

Such a fun report...I wish we could join you one year, but not in Septebmer. Keep the photos coming (if you can) ... it is like being there....(sigh!)

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pictures above :)

I'll have more to add later when Mary gets back with the camera.

thanks for doing this live report

looking forward to hearing all about it

What is a 7 night trade out?

And while you are answering questions, what is the nightime enertainment/Shows for the member cruise?????

We were at WDW over the weekend and probably saw you at Toy Story Mania as we were there in the a.m., too, and did it twice :)

Loving your report - thanks for sharing the info about incentives even if they are only good on-board -- it's still good to have some price points.

Have a great time!

II is Interval International - it is how DVC trades out vacations all over the world. They can go anywhere II goes for those 7 days. I think Mark and Mary won a trip like that one year.

Last night was the Golden Mickeys.

Tonight is the Toy Story stage show, as well as Pirate Night.

And while you are answering questions, what is the nightime enertainment/Shows for the member cruise?????

Today's schedule was/is:

9a WD Theater: the sales presentation Mary already covered the deals on, they also talked about Ko'Olina some, official groundbreaking will be next month!:cool1::thumbsup2 Can't happen fast enough for me. Wish I could go out to attend it.

9a Studio Sea:Welcome home Hughes Family, where they welcome the family of Patrick Henry Hughes, one of the inspirational guests who has overcome seriosu physical issues in amazing ways.

3:30 WD Theater: Inspirations from the World of Sports(Mary's there now). Host ESPN's Linda Cohn sits down with Vince Papale, the actual person whose story was told in Invincible, and Patrick Henry Hughes.

3:30 Ducky Williams inspires your inner artist: He is in Animator's Palette giving inspiration to the inner artists in learning to draw their favorite Disney characters.

4:45 Season of Disney, Disney's best kept secret. They're going to screen that new Travel Channel show up on the big screen ArielVision.

Tonight is Pirate Night and has its own stuff along with the Toy Story the Musical in the WD Theater.

Tomorrow:

more or less the same schedule as today except,

2pm Animation Inspirations a Shorts Festival at sea: WDAnimation's Dorothy McKim presents 4 treasured shorts, including rarely seen titles and one future release.

They also run the other DVC events in the afternoon as well, everyone should have a good opportunity to see everyone. :)

10pm Animation Inspirations: Sleeping Beauty HD Premiere Host Tim O'Day and legendary animator Floyd Norman talk about his work on Sleeping Beauty then present the movie fully restored in HD under the stars. Presented on the ArielVision screen top deck, midships. :)

and Day 4: Back at CC

First the 10:30am group picture.

Another session with Ducky at 3pm.

All in all sofar a very solid lineup of guests! :)

Everything sounds great, but the screening of the "infomercial" on DVC. It bored me in small size... Kind of Scary on a BIG SCREEN LOL!
