Was anybody's AP rate better than the postcard rate?

I was disappointed to be on hold for 46 minutes and then find out that my AP discount was the same as my postcard discount. Further, there were no rooms available for the AP discount at any other deluxe besides the Poly where I already had my reservation. Our dates are Nov. 12-17. We have Poly for $233/night, tax included. Anyone else get a better rate? I just assumed the AP discount would be slightly more than the postcard discount.

It looks like my pin# e-mail rate from Disney is the exact same as the AP rates that are out today. I got YC with the e-mail pin# for $199 per night (221.83 w/tax) and that is what I'm seeing as rates on the boards today.

Too bad I already bought my AP's and I didn't need the discount. Oh well, that just means another trip to Disney!!!

Good luck to everyone out there in getting good rates!:sunny:

I am staying 12/04 for 8 nights. I received Postcard and it was exactly as the same rate as AP for Poly GV.

I think if you have a postcard rate, it is in the computer and that's the rate you are quoted--even if you ask for an AP rate. My AP is $229 for the Poly GV, but the email rate is $209. I called twice to check, and the CM said I had the best rate available for me ($229)--I did not get the email rate. The best AP rate for someone who had the pin email would be $209--which is the pin code, not the AP.

Just a thought because I saw many others post $229 this AM for the AP rate at the Poly GV.

The postcard rates usually are the same as AP rates. At least that's how it's been since I've been paying attention to them (since last fall). For a while it seemed like they'd release postcards, then an everyone rate that was a little bit higher, the AP and Florida resident rates that were the same as the postcard rates. Actually, in our case the email PIN rate was BETTER than the AP rate. I'm like dpic, we have the Poly in october for $209+ tax ($233 total). That is the same as the value season AP rates. The regular season (which is what October falls in) are $229+ tax so $255 total. The email/postcard offer was the same rate for the entire Sept - December time frame, the season change in the middle didn't matter; it does with these new AP rates.

I had a GV room at Poly with the email pin code rate of $209/night first week of October. The AP rate is actually higher, I think it was $229.

The December rates seem to be better than the October.

my experience is simliar to dpics. i received apostcard and was told when I called I oculd WL for 109 a night or values for 49 beach club for 199 and stuff like that. When I called and actually inquired about booking ( my company made my reservation and they used a corporate rate and only 10 more a night) the room they said it was gonna be 137 a night for a courtyard view at Wl the same as a AP rate.
So who knows

I have a friend who is going to be at the AS the same time as we are but she got one of those postcards and is paying $49 while I am having to pay $69. Does not seem fair. Am I correct in that only the person who gets the postcard can use it and it is required at check in? Worth a question.

The postcard was for anyone in the household. My father lives with me and my husband and he received one. They let us have it since it was the same address they said.
They did not say anything about us having it at check in. we just gave them the PIN number on the card.

Well, the offer is non-transferable so if, say, your neighbor got one and isn't going you couldn't use it but if your friend IS going and using it they can book up to 3 rooms using that code. The caveat is that if you are arriving sooner or staying longer it won't work. They can book up to 3 rooms for the same length of time or less but not longer. As long as you and your friend are travelling at the same time or you are staying fewer nights then s/he could book a room for you as well using their discount. If you are staying longer you could always split it into 2 ressies so you got the higher discount for at least part of your stay!

We looked into this earlier. I am meeting up with 2 friends at the Poly. I am going just my DSs and I and we are sharing a room with a girlfriend and her DD. We are also meeting another girlfriend who will be there with her family. I will be arriving on 10/14 and leaving 10/18. My girlfriend who is traveling with her family is arriving 10/15 and staying through 10/22. We looked into having me book her a room as well but it wouldn't work since she was staying longer. They are on the 5+2 package so it was better for them to stay with that than a discount for only 3 nights and rack for the other 4.

Hi Lollipop Mom, thank you for the information. It will not work fo rme as my friend is only staying three nights and we are staying 16 but it is useful info to have. I have booked rooms for my sister on my AP code and should have known this. Thank you for adding to my store of knowledge. LOL
