Ok, I have a general question that has come up in my family since we stated planning this trip. Whenever my mother is going on a trip she packs a certain kind of sandwhich that she only eats on trips. Here's the gross part.... it's a cheese, mayo, jelly sandwhich on toast. and she says the more squished it is(like put it in your backpack in the beginning of the trip and don't eat it until the end) the better. I just wondered if my mother is the only person in the world that has ever eaten this. I won't go anywhere near it. I refuse to even look at it.

ewwww...I have never heard of anyone eating that combination. I used to eat bologna with ketchup on toast when I was a kid and everyone I know thinks that is gross. Doesn't the mayo spoil just sitting around in the backpack? (especially in the heat?)

I've gotten food poisoning from too warm mayo - you don't ever want that! I thought I was going to die - barfing and diarrhea (at the same time) for 12 hours straight. You are smart to stay away from that sandwich. Nobody in my husband's family will ever eat anything with mayo on it unless we know it is straight from the fridge - and fresh (we ALL got it that day).

I'm with you.....that is GROSS.

I'm kinda wondering what it means that seeing your thread name, I had to open it immediately. LOL

My 6 year old son eats the same thing except his bread isn't toasted and he adds butter. I thought he was the only one ever. He also eats it right after I make it for him, I wouldn't let it sit all day. It looks nasty fresh I can't imagine it after sitting all day!!! He's been doing this since he was 4 I was hoping he would outgrow it!

Who made such a thing for an innocent little child? OHHH, I can't wait to tell my mother that someone else eats her sandwhich. She'll probably wanna try it with butter now.

Please, Please stop this maddness!!! I do not want to be in line next to these people when the warm mayo starts to kick in. not my idea of fun having warm mayo barffed on my shoes while in line at the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!! Just have a simple jelly with peanut butter sandwhich and call it good. :flower1:

Hey I warned everyone reading this that it was gross, so don't blame me!!!LOL!!!

That is gross, but here's a few from my strange family.

Peanut Butter on Tuna Fish
Strawberry Jam on Hot Dogs

So, don't feel bad there are many other strange people in the worlds!! :earboy2:

My mother in law let's him eat any combination he wants. She also taught him it was okay to mix chocolate and strawberry syrup together in his milk. Grandma's are great for this sort of thing, especially ones that can't say no! The sandwich and the milk are the two that have stuck with him.

I used to work at a Dairy Queen and we had one customer who had a strange choice for hot dog toppings. He always got lettuce and tomato. I have never seen anyone else eating that combo. Doesn't sound real gross, just different.
My SIL put mustard and picante on top of a chimichanga. That was not appetizing to see.
I have never been one to mix my foods too much. I still hate it when the green bean juices touch my other food.lol

ME TOO!!! Everyone thinks I am  that I don't like my foods to touch! I wish I could have registered for those sectioned plates (the ones you used to get in the cafeteria) when I got married! I also only eat one thing at a time, then move my plate around for the "next" item. :confused3

My son also eats tuna and peanut butter sandwiches. It's really gross but he loves it. He saw it on tv one day. Can't remember the show but they had tuna sandwiches and pb sandwiches in a picnic basket and they got mixed up. Well, after seeing that DS asked for a tuna and pb. I gave him half a tuna sandwich and half a pb sandwich. Wouldn't do for hime. He put them together and ate the whole thing. I really thought that would be it but 2 years later he's still eating them

I guess stick with what works for you but imo ewwwwwww....... :rotfl:

:goodvibes

That's why I love watching the Food Network=especially when they do foods
like hot dogs and they show the different parts of the country and what people use for toppings, very different, my dh and myself sat there and said, that's different, but I guess if you raised from a small child-it isn't different

My kids loved butter and ketchup sandwhiches, yucks :guilty:
now, when I tell them my daughter now says gross! :earseek:

When I was dating my dh, he was young and had his own apt and no money so he loved to make tuna (hot) in a frypan, what a gastly stench!
He only made it once......and eveyone knows why that is, 22 years later-whenever he reaches for a can of tuna we both look at each other---
hot tuna......that has to be stenchiest smell on earth!!! :confused3

3 more weeks until Sunny warm :sunny: FL!
:cheer2:
