Just back from 2 weeks in Orlando. We used the lottery to get the power passes and then upgraded one for the free parking and other discounts. ($60 to upgrade by the way). We went to get our express pass (we don't stay on or purchase the extra express pass) and our tickets wouldn't work. A CM told us that the first day they don't work because you didn't come through the gates with them (you go through gate with a voucher and go to guest services). He gave us special printed tickets that work like a ticket to get our express passes. We went back the next day and again, the tickets didn't work. The next cast manager said that the new passes don't usually work because they are a different system. Again, we got the special printed tickets. The third day we went to guest services and complained. They know the tickets don't usually work. They are working on it. They gave us the special tickets again, and three head of the line special passes to use on any ride.
Sometimes the passes will work, but not using the swipe thing. Put the pass under the machine like a bar scanner at the grocery store. If you get a good machine, it will read it.
Very frustrating!!! Especially when they acknowledge the problem!
Otherwise, we had a great time. Be there at opening. We did so much from 9 - 11:30. The people with FOTL must sleep till 11:30 because it was the same every day.
