Warning for pet owners

If you give your pets flea treatment, be cognizant of how you open the package. I was giving my dogs Frontline tonight, and when I snapped the top off, it flicked into my eye! That stuff burns like hell! It was extremely painful (and still is). I made it to the bathroom to rinse out my eye, but it still feels bad. I'm hold with a nurse line to find out what else if anything I need to do. I never even thought about holding it away from my body or it splashing in my eye. Be careful with that stuff!

Yikes!! I'm always super careful with those, you just never know. Hope your eye is OK!

Hmm, that is very interesting. I'm sorry you got it in your eye. Yikes!
I use Frontline on my dog and every time I go to put him he freaks. He starts running as soon as he sees it come out of the box! So I wondered if it burned or what? If we didn't live in the Deep South I'd dispense with it during the winter. But here in Georgia we have year-round flea & tick season so it's a necessity.

Hope your eye feels better soon and nothing permanent happens.

It gave one of my dogs these seizure-like episodes. That stuff really scares me.

My youngest dog freaks when i pull out the stuff, too, but he is a big chicken. My other dog could not care less about it.
OP, hope your eye is okay. I was flattening an empty dog food bag (to get the air out so I could throw it away) and got a big puff of dog food crumbs in my eye. I also got a big glob of guacamole in my eye once, too. Don't ask...

It does feel a lot better today. This is what the vet gave me when we found a flea on one of my cats. Frontline for the dog nad Revolution for the cats. They told me the brand to stay away from is Hartz because it is a neurotoxin to fleas and has the same effect on cats and they have actually had cats in their practice die after receiving Hartz.
