A Walt Disney World employee has been accused of using credit card skimming devices to steal information from hotel guests. Authorities say that Ana Rosa, a front desk clerk since 1997, had been paid by a man to place the skimmers on computers at Saratoga Springs Resort and Old Key West Resort. Some of Rosa's duties involved checking in guests and accepting payments.

According to WESH News, Rosa is accused of skimming 173 credit card numbers and is responsible for more than $83,000 in losses.
She says that she didn't use any of the credit card numbers taken from the three skimming devices. She would give the devices to a man who paid her for the information. She claims that he still owes her money. Rosa will be sentenced June 30 and will serve at least two years in prison, due to a plea deal she has made with authorities.

Heard about this on the DIS Unplugged, not good at all!

Ooooooh. I wonder if that's who it was that duped us last year...

Between checking out at SSR and checking in at OKW last year, my sister's credit card details got taken and a card cloned from them. Loads of payments were made on it around the central Florida area, mainly at gas stations. Thankfully, since she didn't even have a driving licence and could prove (if required) where we were at the times of the transactions, the credit card company refunded her money, but it was about £1500 in total!

I also heard about it on the DIS unplugged. I can't rememeber what they said she intended using the money for but it was something silly. Makes you wonder what she was actually getting paid by the cuprits. Did they catch these guys too?

Perhaps that was the deal, she gives his name for a 2 year prison stretch.
