Thank goodness I had noticed a posting a couple of weeks ago about someone being charged a higher rate upon arrival. I made certain to print out every piece of confirmation that we received from WDW.
When we checked-into POR last Saturday, I was told that I owed money on my reservation. What?!!! I had paid the deposit when I made my ressie. Then, I had paid off the balance a couple of weeks before our trip. In the front desk computer, I was listed as having a regular rate on my 8-day reservation rather than the AP rate that I had booked, paid for, and had been showing up correctly the 3 or 4 times I checked it (the last being the day before my arrival!!!). The CM checking me in didn't seem to care. I had to dig the paperwork out of the hot car (mid-90s temperatures with the heat index above 105!!). Even then, the CM acted as if it was my problem because he couldn't get the info I had on my printout (from Disney!!!) to show up on his computer. Eventually, he got permission to enter my ressie as a "7-day package". I don't have any clue what was up with that!!
This didn't make for the most magical of vacation beginnings. I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't had our printout. I guess we would have had to pay the $450 difference! This was especially irritating considering how much $$$ we spend at WDW each year. Yikes!
