Thank goodness I had noticed a posting a couple of weeks ago about someone being charged a higher rate upon arrival. I made certain to print out every piece of confirmation that we received from WDW.

When we checked-into POR last Saturday, I was told that I owed money on my reservation. What?!!! I had paid the deposit when I made my ressie. Then, I had paid off the balance a couple of weeks before our trip. In the front desk computer, I was listed as having a regular rate on my 8-day reservation rather than the AP rate that I had booked, paid for, and had been showing up correctly the 3 or 4 times I checked it (the last being the day before my arrival!!!). The CM checking me in didn't seem to care. I had to dig the paperwork out of the hot car (mid-90s temperatures with the heat index above 105!!). Even then, the CM acted as if it was my problem because he couldn't get the info I had on my printout (from Disney!!!) to show up on his computer. Eventually, he got permission to enter my ressie as a "7-day package". I don't have any clue what was up with that!!

This didn't make for the most magical of vacation beginnings. I don't know what would have happened if we hadn't had our printout. I guess we would have had to pay the $450 difference! This was especially irritating considering how much $$$ we spend at WDW each year. Yikes!

Hang onto all that paperwork until you've seen the credit card bill. I had a recent (non-Disney) stay that was accidentally mis-billed. A HUGE error. It was extremely helpful that I had all my documentation from booking to checkout. The hotel and my CC company worked well together, and alls well now.

I have to agree. I always take all my paper work with me on vacation in a two pocket folder with prongs for paper. One pocket contains airline info, the other contain hotel info. I print out an itenerary with ADR's as well. I also make small laminated ADR cards to carry on me. This has paid off twice so far, once they couldn't find our ADR in the system. The other I forgot the MNSSHP tickets in the room. With the info on me, it was handled in a matter of seconds.

Sounds like alot of us are organized and I thought I was bad:thumbsup2

I too have a two sided folder with all my Disney paperwork.

Always bring your paperwork because it's your only proof when you get to checkin as to what you are supposed to get. Paper trails can be a beautiful thing:surfweb:

The confirmations for the ADR's, did you receive confirmations by e-mail or snail mail? All we have are what we were given verbally.

Thanks!

If you call and make your ADR they will give you a confirmation number. That number is very important to have in case they can't find your ressie:scared:

Ok, we have the "over the phone" confirmations for our ADR's. The MNSSHP tickets make me nervous, evidentally we ordered our tickets during their computer glitch so we never received an email confirmation or our tickets and all we got was a verbal confirmation number.

Did you order them over the phone and give them your credit card? Check your credit statement on line or call your credit card company to see if the charge went through. I know Disney is fast so depending on what day you ordered it the charge should post within a couple of days. I ordered my park tickets online and saw my card was charged within that time frame.

Is the MNSSHP a hard ticket event like the xmas party? I got my MVMCP tix like 10 days after I ordered them. (was my cue to realize my wife and I REALLY were going to WDW!!!)

yes, MNNSH, MVMCP, P&PP and Night of Joy are all hard ticketed events at MK

Good point.

On our last visit in February at POFQ they had a water view room reserved for us instead of a king bed room. I told them that was not what I had reserved and proceeded to have a discussion with the CM who kept trying to tell me that was a request only. Umm...no...not at a moderate resort. I had my reservation confirmation which me which clearly showed I had reserved a king bed room. The manager looked at my paperwork, apologized and showed me the paperwork they had that did show us in a water view room. She said sometimes the information downloaded incorrectly to the resort. Because I had my information with me, the problem was quickly resolved.

We had a bad AAA rep in 2003. She made our reservations for June instead of July. The only paperwork we received was from AAA themselves. Nothing from Disney and nothing like the paperwork we received in 2006. It was just a letter stating our dates. They couldn't find our reservation and finally looked at my paperwork from AAA found AAA's error and found us a room. We didn't get the room we requested, but it was my kids first trip to WDW so I wasn't about to let a half hour mixup ruin their trip. On a side note--When I called AAA and let her know about the mishap all she had to say was "Oh sorry about that." AAA rep in 2006 was fabulous though. Word to the Wise--If you don't like your travel agent, trust your gut instinct and switch. It may be your saving grace!

I make sure to take along the paperwork I get when I book my ressie. So far (*knock on wood*) I haven't had to use it.
