Warning all Disney Car Care Center at Christmas

Hi there,

For all those who were at WDW during Christmas, it was very busy, not the busiest ever but still busy. Every thing was great until we tried to get from the Wilderness Lodge to the Car Care Center on Boxing day. I had arranged a pick up at 9.35 which arrived at 10.50, I could have walked it in less than half the time.

On arrival lots of people were milling around the rental centre. Welocome to the queue after a further 50 plus minutes I was free. Please be aware that if you are trying to rent a car for Alamo, who were useless that day, do it first thing in the morning.

I told US Rent a Car in their survey what I thought of the Alamo service.

My only experience with Alamo was Xmas 8 years ago. Arrived boxing day, no cars, totally run out, had to get taxi to Disney and back to airport next day when they eventually got one, 24 hours without a car, they also did not tell me I had to pay for taxis and claim back, ended up having argument with taxi driver. Back at airport following day I had to wait about half hour for manager to refund my $100 then get the car with hard sell for upgrades.
By far worst ever rental for me. Not used them since.
Others like them and have no problems.

We were there Xmas day thru 3rd Jan, our 5th Xmas at WDW, for us it was by far the busiest we have experienced, 4hr 40 mins line for Soarin, 45 mins line to get a burger. This time it was way too busy for us, doubt we will do Xmas for a few years now.

Alamo/National also have a rental desk at the Dolphin Resort. So if the Car Care Centre is busy this may be another option.

Hi..

Yeh we are making use of the rental desk at dolphin hotel this year, going to use DME to and from the airport and they grab our car from there the day after.....
