i am in town for business and wanted to go watch the Dream sail away on Friday. Where is the best place to watch?

Best view Millikens Reef: food not so such.
Fish Lips: best food but there is now a Casino ship that blocks the view. This is were the Port Canaveral webcam shoots from.
Grills: food is good a "party" place.

I really wish that stupid gambling boat would go away.

Has anyone been to Fishlips since the gambling boat is there? Can you still see the Dream depart from the top deck of Fishlips? Thank you.

the camera sits higher up than the upper deck ... and its view is blocked

I was there last week and it's an albatross. I was talking to our server about it and he said they all hate it. According to him, it's a boat no longer in service from Jacksonville and the PC port authority dictated it gets parked there until they decide what to do about it. The Fishlips people said they have jokingly talked trying to sink the thing. I can attest, it really messes up the view.

I did a little digging around. News reports from January indicated that Victory 2 was relocated from Jacksonville to Port Canaveral by the operator, citing consistent bad weather cancellations during the winter as the reason for the move. They added six cruises a week on the second ship in Port Canaveral starting February 2. They were still running Victory 2 on May 11 (when they last mentioned Victory 2 on their Twitter feed). Clearly something happened between May 11 and June 6 (by which time their website had already removed all references to Victory 2). And if I remember correctly, that's just about when the ship started blocking the view of cruise ships leaving the port.

We've enjoyed our meals at Milliken's Reef, and the view is the best of all of them...you get a great cruise ship dock area view before and after, and a nice long look as the ships turn into the channel. Plenty of tables not near the windows, though, so you never know.

For not eating, just watching, nothing comes close to Jetty Park. What a blast strolling around, putting out chairs to watch the ships!

Once again this shows people's like/dislike of food is subjective;)
