Want to join me in my waiting for some kind of announcement

I just tried, for kicks, to use my pin offer for free dining that expired February 16, and it came up to a page that said,

Walt Disney World® Pinned Offer

Valid for stays most nights September 30 through December 22, 2012.

Then in red...

Your selection (package, room only, tickets only) is unavailable. Please make another selection.

So, maybe it is really coming?! Because my pin offer was for spring dates, not fall.

That is encouraging that new pin # may come out. Now if only I get one. Last one I received was in Jan 2010

I am impatiently waiting too though I know October discounts aren't announced until July usually. I have never gotten a pin in all my years of trying. If no discount comes, we will have to stay off-site (and, honestly, with news that EMH is likely going away as an onsite perk starting in September - see rumors board - we may go that way anyway but I would so rather be on property).

Not to be Debbie Downer but it does say 2012, not 2013. I certainly hope new dates are coming though.

Belle, is it me or is it more painful hearing all the possible promo cuts? Our family of 4 really counts on FD and we usually stay at Mod to get the regular dining. Pulling my hair out trying to figure any possible totals, with could be discounts. I am driving my family nuts. We are going regardles, shhh don't tell Mickey that, but really could use a good discount to make the saving easier.

like I said, Painful and in real need of some pixie dust to put me out of my misery :hourglass

I am going crazy too :scared: We will be going either way it is just a matter of where we stay, with FD we will go mod :thumbsup2

Thank God! Was starting to think I was the only one going nutty and praying for something! At this point I will take any announcement just so I can start planning and chipping away at my balance.

Really??? There are several "waiting for discount" threads for Fall/Winter with lots who are in the same boat (and the one you joined in on as well) - why would you think you are alone???

Have to have a discount, or we can't go.
Free dining would rock. Anything close would be good.
I pine for the good old days...we went the first year free dining was offered (Aug. 2005), stayed at a Value, got full Disney dining plan, which then included appetizers and tips.
Those were the days.
It was probably my large family's voracious appetite that caused them to scale back. :rotfl:

Here's hoping for some sort of :wizard:

Hopefully something comes out so you can take a trip! I loved the good ol' days when you could get the free dining and crowds were actually low! I typically travel on the "low" season and over the last 5 years only see an increase in crowds during the times I"m traveling. Now I read on here days where people say the park is empty but I think those days are harder and harder to find. Disney must be doing something right to have less discounts and larger crowds, for the most part, year round...

YES!!! This is what I'm talking about! It has been 2005 since we visited the world and stayed at Poly with free dining for 5 under 3k! And that was 7 nights!! Most the free dining deals now state 5 nights and 6 days...I'm not fooled, I know that they're stealing 2 days of my escape away! Now we have 3 teenagers and by the time we go in September one will have turned 18 so will be paying more for adult...:( We need big deal for 2nd week of September! Malacajo..we will do our best to get there!! :)

I had 6 kids at the time, and 5 of them were under 10.
Now I have 8 kids, and 5 of them will be OVER 10. YIKES.

And ignore when they say 5 nights 6 days...they usually have a minimum stay of 2-3 nights, and tickets at least 1 day. The 5n/6d is just a marketing thing.
We've had free dining for more than 5 n each time.

I agree! The ads often make it sound like what they're offering is the only option but in reality it's just a suggestion. Last year we stayed with FD for 9 nights so it's possible to book more or less nights than the ads suggest.

I'm joining in hoping for a FD offer. I have a BB booked from last summer but have 3 friends I've helped book trips who are currently paying full price in late August and 2 other families who will book if a FD offer comes out. Here's hoping it does!! Time will tell.

Hoping we hear something soon as the current offers end next month.

That is a relief! It has been way too long since we booked at the parks! I used to be really savvy with codes, now I'm learning all over again...we have been doing the cruises because with kids sail free and lower categories that fit 5, it has been much cheaper to sail than do the parks! We've done three cruises and the kids really want to see what's new at the parks, they've never seen the rollercoaster at Animal Kingdom (Himalayan or something?)

Having five over 10 does hurt the pocket book!! :)

I am trying very hard to be patient and wait for a RO discount or FD. I called to check on the AAA discount for the October dates we are considering, but we really rather go first week of November, except because of Jersey Week doubtful there is any discount at that time and I have my heart set on staying at the Poly.

The rumer that only QS will be offered at the Mods and Deluxes scares me since it is only the two of us the savings will not be much and we will have to upgrade to DDP. I am sure if Disney goes with only QS for FD they are counting on most upgradeing so they will have a TS each day.

Waiting :headache:

FD rumors scare me too as we are a family of 4, one being a 16 year old boy that can eat like it is his job. FD is a huge savings for us. I did the math from last years meals... we saved a ton $$$ So I am praying to the Mouse Gods they they have mercy on me and all my DIS friends and offer the Regular FD. :worship:

Last year we booked our September FD trip the first week in March, so possibly we will know as early as a week from Friday!!?? A girl can hope!!!

maybe if we all cross everything we have collectively we can wish them into having mercy :tink: on us and release something... LOL

I meant being as impatient as i have been for just something to be announced. I am not doing good with the waiting part. Might be that I only get this one break all year long and work like a dog up to it. Was just trying to see if i had company in the "I am not good at waiting". I was just as crazy last year waiting for something. And was just a conversation starter. Tis all. meant no harm or duplication. :flower3:

waiting with you. we will need 2 or 3 rooms and want to do mod. 3 generations. my family asks me every week if the deals are out yet as I am the planner. I know it was July last year so I figure we have a bit of a wait still. also I am checking airlines constantly too. Our dates are 11/30-12/7
