Waiting patiently for FD *fingers crossed* for mid-late August. I don't recall them ever announcing FD as late as May for the end of summer, usually end of March/beginning of April?

I have heard (rumors) that FD will ONLY be offered to those staying at Deluxe hotels, anyone hear this too?

I have heard the same rumors. Rumor also has it that the FD that they will have for Mods and Deluxe will be QS and you would have to upgrade to regular dining.

Since 2005, most of the August/September free dining offers have been released in late March or early April, but the exception was in 2010, when the August/September FD dates were not released until May.

I have my e-mail from my TA last year from MARCH 1 booking my free dining for September (2012). I just double checked and am absolutely sure of the date. By Feb. 29th last year people here on the boards knew about it. Maybe we will hear something soon.

No, November won't be included. October - December discounts won't be released until July or August.

I'm anxiously waiting for a discount for December. Mum and I have finally managed to convince dad, but he is still of the opinion that Disney is too expensive I've broken down the cost for him (and it costs less than the week in Aspen he also wants to do) but a discount would help my cause! We're hoping for RO as Free Dining won't be worth it to our family - we eat appetizers not desserts so would still be paying OOP for stuff.

I'm trying to convince the parents to stay at POR for the extra space it would give us.

I guess I'll be waiting till around June/July to find out though, given the historical data.

usually after the new year until the first couple of weeks in Feb you will find some of the lowest prices and good deals. I think you have a good chance of finding something

The discounts for Jan through Feb 12th of 2013 (this year) were released around Oct 9th 2012. They included a room only discount and a stay, play and dine discount. The stay, play and dine discount was basically adults paid child's prices for the dining plan and park tickets. For some people the room only discount was a better value. For some people the stay, play and dine discount was better. With room rates being at their lowest for the year, the room discount turned out to be a great deal for us.

We had been hoping for free dining for that period, since free dining had been offered for January in prior years, but unfortunately, it wasn't offered.

FD was around June/July. I got a tip around June 20th and called to adjust my reservation to get the FD promo.

Yes, and I do wish they did it earlier! I have to commit to something before that as airfare is typically lowest about 4 months out, ADRs at 180 days, etc. We have been toying with a DVC rental but I will be kicking myself if it turns out FD basic plan (not QS) is actually offered because that is our biggest savings potential. Add in the unknowns with FP plus and potentially FPs being portioned out differently based on resort level...and if DVC will be considered deluxe for that...well, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and less enthused than I want to be. Oh, and airfare in October is INSANE right now. Ack.

Coruth..Not to be a downer, and you'll have to check to see-but I hear that they will not allow anyone staying at Art/Animation in STANDARD rooms to have free dining promos?? Not sure at all what type of room you have booked, but def check into that!!

All free dining promos have a 3 night minimum, 14 night maximum resort booking requirement and a 2 day base ticket requirement.

Do you know is this a 2 day ticket requirement for everyone in your party? I'm new to having an AP and not sure how that works. Thanks so much!!!

I booked last night and asked about discounts. I had a great cast member on the phone and he told me to call back 6 months before the trip and ask for the discount to be applied to my reservation. He sounded pretty sure that there would be a discount, but he didn't mention anything of what type of discount it would be.
