Mass Connections is the parent company and Spi in one of the agencies.

If you work events other than ST in your kit there will be gloves. The ones at the dollar tree are LOT more comfortable. It's pretty uncomfortable to wear plastic for a couple of hours.

I've coped Splash's cheat sheet in my Word folder

SPLSHMTN99’s CHEAT SHEET pg 179 10/3/2006
For all the newbies, here's a little cheat sheet I made for myself after reading this entire thread when I was new & watching the DVD several times. Maybe it will help you with tomorrow & putting you at ease that you've done everything to prepare. (They were written for when the kit is sent to store, but really not much different.)

Day before event:
Print instructions & any emails received that amend the instructions.
Print store report form.
Call in to activate MC card.
Read instructions....and learn script.
Pack necessary supplies.

Day of event:
I arrive about 15 min early.
Grab a carriage & put my table & supplies in it.
Go to service desk & ask for mgr. Sometimes they come to desk with my box that was delivered to the store; most times I go to their office with my carriage (Kmart) --what ever they want.

If I'm near the back room, I open MC box & put contents in carriage & go get rid of empty box in back room compactor.

Then take carriage & go buy the stuff I need. (I just tell cashier the other junk in carriage is for my demo. No problems so far....and instructions prove all that anyway.) I'm usually thru check-out around 11. 11:10 at latest depending on how long I waited at service desk, or finding product, or check out lines.

Then I take carriage & go set up table.
Then I take carriage & grab some extra product for table display. I count the product on the shelf. Note quantity somewhere. Also note price & aisle # for customers.
Ditch the carriage when empty. Ready to roll by 11:15 most days. (first few events took me longer until I figured out this routine)

About 15-20 minutes before end of event, I put back any remaining product I took from shelf to sell (NOT the remaining product I bought to demo out). I count the remaining product on the shelf. Note it somewhere OR fill out answers on the report form.

I grab a carriage & start breaking down. Put everything in carriage. I put the stuff to go back to the manager in the child seat. All trash in my trash bag; and box up my table. I walk the store with my carriage, picking up any trash I find from event. Toss it in my bag. Head to back room. Throw out trash in compactor. Go to service desk & ask for manager to come sign me out. Give him/her whatever is left from event that instructions say to give them. Go swipe out thru register making a 75 cent purchase. Go home.

Immediately, complete report form if you didn't at the store. Call in results to Computerlink. Attach receipts. Prepare your own envelope to mail it that night or next day using address labels (if they were provided).

If doing another event next day, activate MC card again.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Here is the very last version I had made of that. I haven't read it again to see if it needs even more changes.

DAY OF EVENT:
NOTE: *Some event personnel that work thru TMT agency, like to buy product as soon as they get to store. They do this so they can make SURE that their swipe in & swipe out receipts cover the entire 4 or 5 hr event. If their reciepts are even just a minute shy of the full event time, they are docked in their paycheck.

O.k so I booked two jobs for August!! woohoo!! Thank you for all this info!! Are most of the jobs at Walmarts? Every listing that is up in pa. is for Walmart no other stores?:confused3 Thanks!!

Well, did another CQ Cosmetics today! Much slower than last time so it was a long day!:sad2:
Some people are so sweet and really appreciate getting something for free! One lady even said "bless you"!
But one lady was a real "fill in the blank"! I stated as my script TOLD me to that CQ products are formulated by some of the same companies that supply Estee Lauder, Mac, etc and she told me I was wrong! I finally told her the company I work for supplied the information to me an I assume they know what they are taking about! She sure took a free eye liner however!
Geez, if you don't want the product, or don't believe what I say, get over it and move away from my table! Can you tell it was a long day!;)

ldb1030 A while ago I was doing some event I can't remember which one but one lady came up with her kids and she wouldn't let them have a sample because of the sugar content. She gave me a lecture on how I was promoting obesity in kids. That same person had sugared cereals and all kinds of processed food :confused3 in her cart.

Is anyone else STILL waiting on a paycheck that you expected last week but didn't because of the holiday? :confused3

NEW EVENT: Kmart Sat 8/18. Glade Wisp - Flameless Candle.

Yeah, that's a weekend I didn't take one of those Purina events on Cape Cod at Kmart. So I can do it here at home. :thumbsup2

I've got 16 events coming up & a few more I'm waiting for off-dates on. WOW. So much for a slow summer.

/
16 events--WOW!!! I only have 3 but that's a good start I think. Now I just need my MC card and kit to get here BEFORE Saturday--I am thinking of using the "contact us" link on the website to email them and let them know I have an event and see if they tell me when my card and kit will arrive. I know the email said 10-12 days but I am cutting it close.

CQ on 8/10 is all I have on my calendar as of now!:sad2:

Leaving next Thursday for the big apple :cool1: so I'll have to check events while I'm gone using my sister's new iPhone!:thumbsup2

Got my MC card envelope today and the kit for the event I unbooked. The box arrived with a hole in the side on the diaper side of the box. The FedEx guy said to call and they will send another FedEx person to pick it up and when I asked if I had to notate the box open he said no. I immediately emailed SPI at the contact us link and told them the box had a hole in it and the only way I could verify product was not missing would be to open the box and do an inventory--and I will wait to hear from them regarding what they want me to do--I can return it fedEx or deliver to someone locally if they want.

Just picked up the Glade Wisp as well. I still can't believe that I'm hoping for Coppertone to go offdate.

I received my kit for Thursdays cereal event. Those are certainly different cups. Styrofoam with allergy warning printed write on it.

And we've started the "spending $" portion of our kitchen updating. Tonight we bought our frig & stove. I can't wait. I picked a slide-in smooth top electric range & a freezer on the bottom frig both in black to go with our existing black microwave & dishwasher. We've picked the new Silestone Black Canyon for the countertops but haven't found the best quote yet.

Looks like I'm going to be needing to do lots of events. ;)

We have been updating our kitchen as well... We are getting new cabinets plus counter top. Some new appliances and new floor.... Been working on it forever.... I hope we get it done real soon.. But we haven't even picked out our counter-tops yet...
Nice day yesterday day..... Did my event at Target, Helped lead do toast and jam for 20 mins till she found me a microwave bowl.. then I did salad spray on lettuce and corn with I can't believe it's not butter spray... Today I have pineapple pork kabobs..... Hope everyone has a great day!!!

well I haven't been able to log in for a week now. I've emailed Taylor twice and she hasn't answered me. I headed out to do job yesterday only to get a call that I had been unbooked and som eone else had b ooked it. ***. SOOOO I don't know what is going on.......

That's weird!

Who called you and told you that it had been unbooked? Wonder why they called you since they thought YOU had unbooked?:confused3

I also wonder why it let you activate your MC card if you were unbooked? That's REALLY strange.

The help desk called me and told me someone else was trying to activate their card but I had already done so and it showed it had been unbooked. I've emailed Taylor for the 3rd time and still no response. I wonder if his is due to that Harris Teeter that didn't exist last fri and the help desk not calling me back?????
