I got home today and still no Coppertone kit. My starter kit was here but that was it.
Tommorows event would be my first so I don't have signage or experience to rely on...It is an off-date, plus it is 50 miles away.
So should I just unbook and let some one else pick it up off date? i wanted everything to go bettter for my first event. I just don't feel prepared.
How bad does it count against you to unbook events??

I would say they couldn't count it against you if you unbooked under these circumstances. I didn't get my Coppertone Kit for last Monday (off-date too), but I had done one on-date and had the signs, shirt, hat, etc..

Are you supposed to do the green tea too? It probably wouldn't be bad if they had the tea in stock, but if you're stuck there with just 3 cans of Coppertone and no signs, or brochures/tatoos to give out, 5 hours is forever. I know because the store I was at on Monday didn't carry the tea, I stood there with just the spray and a few brochures and people avoided eye contact with me except for a few hoping I had coupons (didn't).

When I didn't receive my kit, I called for an MC card increase to get cups. I didn't get a live person and I left a message. Later I found out they didn't carry the tea so I didn't need the cups, but if no one is around and no one returns calls, I don't know what you're supposed to do.

50 miles is a long way. I'd not unbook, but send an email and say that you'd be glad to do it as soon as the kit arrives - btw, mine never arrived and no one responded after me leaving voicemails and emails.

I emailed Taylor Friday but no response. I would't be able to do another date until Sat/Sun. ( I just got a new day job:thumbsup2 ) I don't know if they will let me wait that long.
Maybe i should just wait for some thing else to show up.
BTW how long do the rest of you drive?? I have seen a few local but they go really quick. The rest are 45-65 miles.

If you're up for it, go - but call first to see if they carry the tea. I guess if you're not even getting an email response, it'd probably be better to unbook if you decide not to go. I'm sure it can be done next weekend, but I'm sort of thinking maybe they don't have any Coppertone kits left because I didn't get one and neither did you for the off-dates.

Congratulations on your day job!

I don't drive far at all - maybe 3-10 miles. I live in a suburb of Mpls./St. Paul and it seems as though there isn't anyone doing this on my side of town. I look at the events in a 50 mile radius and they disappear in some areas pretty quickly.

Hi everyone... Been so busy around here with the kids and stuff...
Last week I was at a Target, first time there.... One lady was very crazy, thought she owned the store, the other lady I didn't talk to but she booked both their events because the other lady didn't have a computer... Anyway.. watched them arrive late, mess around take a long break, making me wait for mine..... they finished around 3:10... When I finished one was just coming in from a smoke break.... anyway, the LOD had already talked to someone about them and when I got home all of their events were back up for grabs for July.. guess they let them go.
I drive anywhere between 5-40 miles for my events, mostly 30. But I will take off-dates up to 55 if they are expressway all the way.
I'm doing the Dansani plus today. Hope they have some in stock.. This store is either hit or miss.

Wow, that was fast.:) Hopefully, my $25 will arrive soon.

Hope I didn’t mess myself up. I decided to do the Pretzel Crisps event on the 21st (WM with SPi) instead of Flat Earth Crisp (Target with TMT). If I’m going to work, I’d rather do 5 hours vs. 4 hours. Since TMT doesn’t want us unbooking ourselves, I went into my TMT account and selected the “Contact Us” tab at the home page and asked for them to unbook the Flat Earth Crisps. The email went to my coordinator at SPi. Taylor will probably think I’m nuts asking her to unbook something that I don’t have booked. I remember a couple of months ago when someone on this board unbooked a 4 hr. event for a 5 and the 5hr event was cancelled then the 4hr one was gone. Hope that doesn’t happen to me.

No Coppertone showing up here. Wouldn’t mind working the 20th.

I finally went into “MyPoints” and selected my daughter’s school for the Points program. It showed 3 participants for the school. Guess I have competition within the school.

I just checked for my DD school and it's finally listed, so I added it to both screens (TMT & SPi). When I got to the second one it showed 2 participants, so you may not have as much competition as you think.

Could this be Martha? :rotfl:

cynjam - I bet you're right. When I registered my school through SPi, it showed 2 participants and then when I went in through TMT it showed 3 with a total of 49 points. I have 33 points with SPi and 13-15 with TMT so that is probably a total of both my accounts plus the "other" person who only has a couple of demos.

I'd better get off of here and off to Target.

Just got back from my Dansani event.... Got audited today.... Glad I was doing great!!
He sat in the food court area behind me for awhile before he got up and came up to me. He asked me a few questions and then he said he was from SPI and he was an auditor. He then asked me a few more questions... (I remember him from a Target event a few months ago..) He said too bad he didn't have a gift card but he said be on the look out next time.
Anyone else get audited today?

what questions did he ask you? So he did not give you a 'bonus' or anything for doing everything correctly?

Back from Dasani Plus. No kit -- and they usually do have it. Good thing I brought one, but I ended up with no coupons. They had chilled the product & some extras.

There were 70 bottles in the store. I bought 40. And sold only 14 of the remaining 30. I had to set up as people were leaving the store. Alot of tasters, but not alot of buyers. Coupons probably would have helped.

The 14 I did sell were probably because I had those chilled too & it was 92 degrees outside. So they liked having a cold drink while leaving -- but people always want to pay ME when I'm set up near the exit. No can do.

No auditor. I've never seen one either.
Glad to have my bottle opener with me today. :thumbsup2
How much where the coupons for out of curiosity?

I don't think I was audited. Nobody said anything to me or offered me an incentive. I don't think I could have done a better job than I did or usually do. Wenpop, I too am curious what types of questions you were asked.

This Dasani event sure went quick. This is the first time I've used up almost all of my cups. I arrived at 10:35 to have product purchased by 10:45, nobody knew I was coming so no product was chilled. It took a while for them to figure this out so I didn't purchase product until 10:53 past the 10:45 time TMT wanted us to check in. To get started I purchased 3 bottles from the coolers by the cashiers and they put the rest on ice which worked out great.

The first thing he asked me was what was I demoing and then he asked me what he had to do to get the coupon.. He asked me about the vitamins in the drink... Then he let me know who he was... then
He asked me how I kept up the number of coupons I gave out without writing it down, then he asked me about the amount of product available and if my box was ready for me when I got there. etc... just stupid questions...
\
He said they were working on the audit system and to look for a bonus in the future.

Splash - The coupons were for a free 20oz. bottle good until 7/15. That would have definately made a difference in your sales. My store brought 200 bottles up to me and I kept them close to the table. Most all of them were gone when I cleaned up and the end cap was half gone too.

Dasani was a big hit!

I had 333 bottles in store, after I bought 40 for sampling. They had some chilled, but not enough. They were surprised that some of the chilled sample cases were open and half gone. I "sold" 190 bottles, only used 16 for sampling, gave the other 24 to LOD for break room. I asked the LOD if she would take a picture, since I forgot my camera, again. I didn't have the customer interaction, but at least I'll get an extra point for submitting a photo. She even put a positive commit on the report form this time.
They were having a little trouble getting the coupons to work, since the 20oz was on sale for $1. The register would tell them the coupon ($1.39) was for more than the purchase price.

I really like the 11-3 shift better than the 1-5.

I only "sold" 145 bottles today, a lot of people just turned up their noses at me when they walked by my table... but all and all it was a good day... I was lucky I had my cooler still in the car from the green tea events and so I just got ice in the food ave area..... They were cooling while I sat up the table and stuff.. People were getting the free drinks before they even tasted the drinks in the beginning...but I didn't want to serve them hot drinks...
I had to tell a few kids no more... they kept coming over there and grabbing a cup or two...

There was no one at my ST doing the Dasini. Splash I bet the kit I saw was yours but you never came for it.

I did Bertoli pasta meals. I love doing those they go so fast people always act so surprised that they taste so well.

Free bottles? DARN!!! But I would have needed ALOT more product than what was there. So I guess it worked out that I didn't have a kit after all.

This is the only Target I go to. I never seem to have the inventory or sales amounts that the rest of you have. Maybe I should try a different Target. This store is notorious for not having much of what I'm sampling.

I did Bertolli today also. Of course my MC Card did not work. I told them (TMT) after my Diet Pepsi Max event that I had to use my own money to swipe out and could they send me a new card. They never did. I called MC/TMT and Patrick told me to try another register. That did not work either so he told me to use my own money to buy the Bertolli. Since I was never reimbursed for the Diet Pepsi event, I told them I would check with the demo manager and get back to them. Since that Target is so nice they Q-mosed it all for me. It was gone at 2pm. Why did they only have us get 5 bags?! Last Bertolli event was more. I had to just give out coupons for a loooong time.

Anyway, I called back MC and got Amy on the phone and asked her to please send me another card before my event next week. She said "what is wrong with these cards-haven't we sent you several?" (Like they cost them a fortune to send.) I said "no, this is my first and only card but it is not working any longer." I have had this card since last year and it just acted up-lol. While I was waiting to get the OK on the Qmos, the other ladies said do not buy product with your own money. Several of them had never been reimbursed!

Dasani was a bomb for me. No kit and no product. I hate that.

We decided to go to the beach this weekend. I figured I'd make a little money while I was down there. Sounds like a good plan right? I was supposed to do a Kashi cereal at Harris Teeter. Well, Harris Teeter did not exist on this road. I asked everyone, drove up and down and around, couldn't be found. I called the weekend line and got the machine, they never called me back. I didn't get to do the event and I don't have any receipts so I'm wondering how I get paid for that

I got in. Yippiiee!!!!! They said my kit will be here in 10 - 12 days and will include my login info and stuff. I can't wait to start booking events!!!!!!!

I do not think I did, but the way you described your experience, it sounded like the one I had at a Sarah Lee event I did last year. They sent me a Target Gift Card, but that was before this point system thing.

I started my event at 1-5 I just assumedthat it started at one. So if my auditor did audit I was not approached. Good job WEndy!!
