Anyone ever done an event at Kmart called Puring Pet Events? No instructions up yet, but its listed for every Sat & Sun from end of July to early Sept just at the Kmart nearest my parents house on Cape Cod.

Thinking I could take 2 weekends in a row (work 4 events) and just stay at my parents for the week. :confused3

Just wanted to get an idea of how bad it might be before I book it. It would be the week from hell if I had to put up with my mom for a week AND work 4 boring events. lol

Tues I emailed my rep to check on my kits (starter & Coppertone)for offdate event today 7/5. This will be my first event. Neither kit has arrived. She said they should be here today and I can do the event this weekend. Is this OK ?? Do I need to clarify that with someone or would she be the one to say???

P.S.
I thought most of the events were on weekends but everything is either on a TH or Fri for the next 2 months....

If your rep said its ok.....its ok. Just keep the email (incase) & note it at the bottom of your report form ---per so & so.

Most events are on the weekend, but in the summer alot of people go away or have plans with family. So harder to get people to work & probably less people in the store than a weekday.

Lately most of my Walmart events are on Friday. I have one booked for Aug. 9th, which is a Thursday.
Nothing new listed around here. But I have 2 jobs in July, and 1 in Aug., so I'm ahead of last year when I had no jobs at all in July and August!

Hallelujah, I was finally able to donate the extra souffle cups I had. :woohoo: Last month when I volunteered at the school concession stand I noticed they used the 2oz. size to put cheese for pretzels in. Today when I went, I took several packs in and they were thrilled to get them as they’d run out of the 2 oz. size and were using the 3 ½ oz. size which was to big. Unfortunately, their napkin dispensers don't accommodate the beverage size.:sad1:

MC/Spi just added a Super Target to my account and there are so many opening that I could work almost every day for 2 weeks - they only added one, which apparently no one selects (really bad area, but brand new store).

Do those of you who've been doing this awhile prefer doing Super Target over Walmart? If so, is it because you're busier and you don't have to bring anything?

Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps event showing up for 7/14 & 7/21. Here the 14th is at a couple of stores and at the rest of the stores on the 21st. That makes 3 events for the 21st now. I already booked Flat Earth Crisps at Target. Thinking of switching to Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps which is a 5 hr.

I do like ST better than Walmart. The only reason I sometimes take Walmart over ST is that the St is in another town so it's farther away for me.

At my ST, there is also a demo manager, who helps you out, answers questions, makes decisions about product issues and sometimes even has the product sitting in a cart waiting for me when I get there! He tries to check on us at different times to see if we need anything during the event. He's a really nice guy, and always writes something good on my report form.
Plus the customers are really nice.
I also prefer the ST tables over our cardboard tables anyday!

Thank you! You have me looking forward to it. The Target just became a Super Target, I haven't been there yet, but I'm sure it's really nice. I hope I get the kind of manager that you have.

Just when you thought it was over, Coppertone is up for 7/20!

The scary thing is that since I have almost no work for July I'm actually hoping for the rest to open-up to off-dates.

Received $50 in Walmart gift cards in the mail today from the points program. :thumbsup2

Wow, that was fast.:) Hopefully, my $25 will arrive soon.

Hope I didn’t mess myself up. I decided to do the Pretzel Crisps event on the 21st (WM with SPi) instead of Flat Earth Crisp (Target with TMT). If I’m going to work, I’d rather do 5 hours vs. 4 hours. Since TMT doesn’t want us unbooking ourselves, I went into my TMT account and selected the “Contact Us” tab at the home page and asked for them to unbook the Flat Earth Crisps. The email went to my coordinator at SPi. Taylor will probably think I’m nuts asking her to unbook something that I don’t have booked. I remember a couple of months ago when someone on this board unbooked a 4 hr. event for a 5 and the 5hr event was cancelled then the 4hr one was gone. Hope that doesn’t happen to me.

No Coppertone showing up here. Wouldn’t mind working the 20th.

I finally went into “MyPoints” and selected my daughter’s school for the Points program. It showed 3 participants for the school. Guess I have competition within the school.

I recieved my gift card yesterday :cool1:. I have just 2 more events tomorrow and on the 21st. I really hate these dry times. Nothing is showing for august or sept by me. :scared:

I didn't see anyone else mention doing a quesidilla event at K Mart last week. Was I the only one that did that last weekend? It went really well. Those things are really good. I actually bought some of the stuff when I was done and brought home to make for dinner after making them all day at the store LOL. Had some more again last night too. Since the package of tortillias were open. I'm trying to use up what I have since we leave Wednesday.
That quesidillia event was my best event I've ever done because I also met an online friend.:goodvibes It was at a store close to one of my TGM buddies so I told her I was going to be there and she came in with her girls to try some quesidillas. We're also going to be at WDW the same time this week. Another funny thing about that is I have never worked in that town before but I had two events there within a few days of each other. Jen had one of her girls take a pic of us at the K-Mart event. A few days later I was at the Wal Mart across the street. I was standing there doing Coppertone/Cott and some guy walks up and said "I think my wife took a picture of you the other day." It was her DH and he recognized me from the pic. He was at WM getting tires on their van for the trip and didn't know I was going to be there. :)

I gotta add a tip here. I meant to back when Splash had the receipt incident but I didn't stay on line long enough at the time to type anything. DD was home for a few days and things were hectic. Anyway, I gleen so many good tips off this thread I should give a little back if I actually think of something. So, I bought this clear zip top folder thing at Wal Mart. It is just the right size to hold papers. I can put my store report form and event instructions in it. If it's a store I haven't been too before and I have directions printed out I just put the directions in on top and lay the folder between the seats beside me so I can check it on the way. I also keep a pen handy in the folder and zip my receipts in it. I also liked that clipboard idea several pages back. That would be handy too.
Anywho, like I said, I know that was several pages ago but I've been really busy lately and I try to read to keep up here but hadn't took time to post lately. I feel like I get so much good info off here that helps me I need to give back a little when I can. :goodvibes
I don't have any more events scheduled now till after I get back from WDW. I probably won't be checking back in so I hope everyone has a good week. I know I will.:thumbsup2 I'm taking my laptop so I can keep checking for events to book.

Dasani Plus tomorrow at Target. It looks like we are NOT getting 500 more napkins in our kit. And instructions don't mention serving with a napkin. :thumbsup2 I'll bring a few for spills however. Bringing a cooler also...since I'm expecting it won't be chilled & they probably won't have enough anyway.

And remember....its 11am - 3pm. :thumbsup2 Bring your cameras for the display contest.

I'm tossing a "gripper" in with my stuff for Dasani tomorrow. I have a hard time getting a good grip with those gloves on.

Good luck to everyone doing Dasani tomorrow. Wonder how many of us will be audited?

I volunteered at the school concession stand again today for 5 hours in the close to 90degree heat. At least tomorrow I'm in a/c. :cool1:

I got home today and still no Coppertone kit. My starter kit was here but that was it.
Tommorows event would be my first so I don't have signage or experience to rely on...It is an off-date, plus it is 50 miles away.
So should I just unbook and let some one else pick it up off date? i wanted everything to go bettter for my first event. I just don't feel prepared.
How bad does it count against you to unbook events??
