Millerwdwfans, I guess I should apologize that you have so much to read. Sorry. I get long winded sometimes & go into too much detail. Its how I think & work. I consider everyone here my "co-workers"...and I like to talk to them. :) Glad to have been helpful, but just returning the favor as everyone here was helpful to me. Then I guess I just got into that stupid "training" mode or "the answer person" that happens to me at every job I've ever had. I didn't mean too & I hope I don't offend any when I do it. My answers may not always be right, but they are what I do & I take any consequences for them. They really do just hire us & set us on our ways...don't they. ;)

I think I'll take my own cooler tomorrow to be safe. I don't plan on pouring too much in advance that it will get warm on the table. Its never happened in the past...but this is green tea..not soda. So who knows. Maybe you could line your trash can with 2 bags if you are worried about leaks. And I've never received an extra kit.

It was SUPER HOT here again today. If its like this tomorrow, people might drink anything...even warm green tea.

I've got Coppertone BURN-OUT. 4 more of these to go. 3 of them this week. UGH!!! But thank goodness I'm finally done all of those Honeycombs events. Give me something new to do already.

When I have had to throw away cups of soy milk that got warm (before I realized to only pour those on command as no one wanted to try soy milk) I would take a big wad of the never ending supply of napkins and shove them into the cup to absord the liquid. Seemed to work ok and no leaks from the trash bag. I also will do that after someone had tried a drink they do not like and throw it away--trying to use up those napkins!!

Very nice idea!

:lmao: "never ending supply of napkins" :lmao: Truer words were never spoken.

Thanks again guys. So I'll just e-mail them about the extra kit and see if they answer me this time. I really have learned pretty much everything from this thread, not them. I didn't even get a DVD like I saw some of you talking about. I would love to know if that gives any more info about what I'm supposed to be doing. It's like you said SplshMtn99, they just hire us and send us a kit and send us out there. I don't think I'll complain too much once I start getting my paychecks though LOL.
Thanks for all the ideas. I'm starting to see what you mean about that never ending supply of napkins already.:goodvibes
I hope once I get some experience I can contribute to the helpful hints too.
SplshMtn99, don't apologize for being helpful. I wouldn't call that being long winded. I would call that being generous.:) I think your background prepares you for problem solving. I know already when I've been doing events I've thought about some things I've read on here from you and others and it helped me iron out problems I encountered.

Beach ball Do you think we would get in trouble with the store if we tossed it to "willing" customers walking by in the hopes that they will stop at table? I'm talking just a couple of feet away.

Or maybe I'll learn how to spin it on my fingertip by the end of the day. ;)

Those tea flavors sound gross to me. :scared:

Just ignore me......I'm reading for tomorrow & have no motivation to go pack. lol

I just put my ice packs in the freezer, opened my kit, and came down here to print my instructions. You see where I ended up.:surfweb: ;)

I didn't get a beach ball. :sad1: I guess that means I don't have to worry about what to do with it. And as far as the cooler/ice pack thingys, I think my Walmart won't have tea tomorrow.:guilty:

Secretly hoping they won't have any in stock :rolleyes1

And this time I'm be sure NOT to check the backroom for more. :rolleyes1

I just got done labeling my cooler. I slapped a piece of duct tape on the side & wrote my last name on it & "For Demo Use". Let's see if the non-english speaking door guy says anything to me this time. It also came in handy to load all the junk into. :)

I worried about wether to even take that beach ball. I know some people said they didn't get one anyway. I'm just afraid I can see disaster waiting to happen with it. Like my display or things off shelves being knocked on the floor by kids getting ahold of the ball.
The tea is not bad. It tastes a lot like the flavored green teas we get in those little sticks that we take to WDW to add to water. I bought the White Tea with Clementine and the diet Green Tea with Pommegrant. DS loves them. I would drink it but not every day.

:rotfl: See, I don't have kids. I never even thought of little hoolagans getting ahold of the ball & tearing the store apart. :rotfl: I'll see how it goes. It probably fits nicely on top of the Coppertone sign. If its bothersome, I'll just deflate it & hide it. :)

I put mine on top of the Coppertone triangle display... that way it's out of reach of kids but still 'displayed'

Today I'm at ST. I wonder how I'll do today, I have cheese and crackers and a spicey pineapple sauce :rolleyes1

I'll trade ya. But I might be a bit late getting there. Long commute from MA. ;)

Ah, the joy of being in a rural area.

Me: Would you like to try some Diet Green Tea?
Customer: Is it like sweet tea?
Me: It is sweet.
Customer tries and exclaims: Ugh! It's that asian s^*t.

Other than that not bad at all. I'm dreading my coppertone only date. Why can't they send some coupons at least? People in my area want coupons.

Has anyone here ever been audited? It says on all the forms that there are auditors. I"m just wondering how prevalent they are.

Most commonly heard words today when handing out China trip sweepstakes...."I don't want to go to China!". One lady said she would rather go to WDW. :rotfl: Me too!!!!

I did sell 13 of the Oriental Emporium teas however. Some people bought 2. And a few samples ended up in the trash by customers. Thanks for that napkin idea.

I was standing near front door which is where HBA dept is, so I was able to get ALOT of traffic. While playing with my beach ball, people laughed at me & I asked them if they wanted a cold drink. ;) (HOT HOT HOT outside) Then I told them what it was. :goodvibes

I sold 4 Coppertone off the table. I didn't try as hard with that today. I haven't finished adding up my totals on that to see if anymore were sold.

There were 5 demos going on in the store today. I had the best spot. :)

People in ALL areas want coupons!

And I've never been audited...........that I know of!:confused3

People really loved the tea today! Once I got it chilled enough to start handing out samples they went like crazy!! I didn't sell that many packs, maybe a dozen or so.
The Coppertone on the other hand, no one wanted anything to do with testing it or taking the brochure.

The Coppertone / Tea event today was my first event ever, Wal Mart only had 4 12 packs of tea. All of them were diet green tea. I bought 1 and put the other 3 on my display table. They all sold within the first hour. I would have sold a lot more of those if they had them. After I gave out all of my tea samples, no one wanted to come to the table. I also had an issue with people spraying the coppertone samples around my tea samples. I had to throw away a few samples because they got sprayed. Coupons in the pamphlet would definitely have attracted more people. I think next time I'll try for an all food/drink event.

Today spicey pineapple sauce was a hit! I sold out of the sauce and the crackers. Still had plenty of the cheese though. I tried a little of the sauce and it was spicey

I felt like Ed McMahon and the prize patrol today. I gave away all the Coopertone junk that I have accumulated. I had t-shirts left over from previous events and plus an extra set that I cancelled on an off-date. I gave away 3 caps as well as the Cd"s that I had from the previous time.

It did help me sell Coopertone. People actually bought the coppertone just to get a t-shirt. I was so happy when I arrived and there was not any of the green Tea. I did not have room on my demo table for all the stuff.

The manager and the crew act like I was some rep. from the actually Coppertone company and they kept asking me why I did not bring them stuff and they even asked for the tester sprayers.

I was like whatever, I will be in here next week demoing something else. Go talk to the Coppertone people.
