On the Diet Pepsi Jazz, is the chilled sample product that comes from the department manager what we are susposed to purchase? Or we susposed to purchase product off the shelf?

IF they chilled it for you, you buy those bottles. IF they DIDN'T chill anything, you buy it off the shelf. Hope that helps.

My toaster oven is a white sunbeam. It was OK today, but each batch baked differently.:confused3 I have a knob for temp. degrees and one for time (including "stay on").
If you did the biscuits today, but didn't sell out, what did you put for the two questions about "What hour did you sell out? Range 1-5"?:confused3

I went to my ST today to have them chill my product. Out of the 14 2 liters I am suppose to purchase for sample, they only had 3 2 litrs of one flavor. They said they would chill it and call the Pepsi vendor to try to get some more in by tomorrow. I hope they do b/c I do not think it will take me long to give out 3 2 liters of samples then I will have to spend the rest of my time handing out coupons. I do not understand why this happens so often. Can't they tell the stores there is a demo on this date, make sure you have product b/c it can increase your sales. Oh well, good luck to everyone else.
I posted earlier that a demo manager was complaining that he couldn't order the product for the demo, that the company vendor did all the ordering. He was pretty frustrated, as this was the 2nd demo with insufficient product.
He even wrote a note on my store report form about not having enough product stocked.

What is a Flat Earth Chip anyway? :confused3

It's a new baked snack product by Frito-Lay. Each 1 oz. serving has a 1/2 serving of either a fruit or vegetable. Comes in 6 delicious flavors. Can you tell I read my script? :lmao: There's more to the script, but too much to type.

I also have a cheap $18 Walmart toaster over and did fine with the biscuits yesterday. I just kept a very close eye on them. If they looked like they were getting too done on top, I turned down the heat. I also rotated the pan half way through because the ones in the back when cooker faster than the front.

I am off to Target now to check on my Diet Pepsi. Fortunately, this event is only 2 miles down the road and not 30 minutes away. I don't mind running down there to make sure it is chilled. I would rather do it this morning instead of having problems later. I don't want to fool with a cooler.

Good Luck everyone:wizard:

Yah, that question was screwy. I punched in zero. On the form, I wrote 0-did not sell out.

When you do drinks, do you go ahead and keep a few poured or do you pour it as people want it??

I do what Brivers did in his Enviga display. See pic#2 http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=17306188&postcount=4652. My table looked just like his. :thumbsup2 Except I only displayed one case of each flavor & placed an empty can on top of each case. It gave me more room to work & people could see the cans.

I display each flavor & place a few cups of each in front of the appropriate bottle. I placed a small stack of coupons between each flavor of cups, so it was quite clear.

I keep a few poured cups out at all times. I don't wait for customers. A crowd can show up & you get wiped out. If I was taking "drink orders" I would be too backed up. :)

I have the diet pepsi Jazz event today also. I am bringing a table, napkins, cooler and Cups as this target never receives kit nor gets any memos (eventhough I kindly gave them the letter 4 weeks ago when I booked this event)

We will see what happens.

I probably should get to packing some stuff too. I didn't get to it last night. Have a good day everyone. See ya when we all get back. :thumbsup2

Drgnfly30 (Christine)....check your gmail account. I sent you an email. :)

I am back from my first weekend of events! I did Flat Earth Crisps yesterday and Diet Pepsi Jazz today. I love the store and everyone I met was fabulous. Not only were they expecting me, but the manager heard it was my first event so he set up my table *and* pulled my product for me. They were amazing. All of the team members were just great.

The Flat Earth chips event went pretty well. I stressed a little just because it was my first job and I wasn't sure of myself. But I quickly got the hang of it. I sold a lot of chips and people generally seemed to like the product.

The Diet Pepsi Jazz event went great. Most of the two liters sold. I had a lot more confidence and enjoyed it much more today. This was a great start to my new job!

Thanks again for all the help. I look forward to more events and chatting about them here with y'all! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Warning (LONG)...and I'm cranky. ;) I swear its the eclipse. Workers were saying people were witchy today. One girl quit & walked out.

I arrive over 1/2 hr early to deal with any issues.
No product chilled. (surprise)
Only 4 bottles of Black Cherry Vanilla on shelves. No space or tags for others flavors so who knows if they even carry it. (gee, another surprise)

So I bought (4) 12 pks instead. 2 Black Cherry Vanilla & 2 Strawberries & Cream. Again, no Carmel Creme. (I tried using that soda can opener thingy. I can't figure it out. My finger tip hurts again.)

She won't let me set up any where else other than Food Ave because that's what the directions say  even though last week THEY moved me OUT of Food Ave (1/2 way thru event) because setting up as people enter the store was a better idea. Ya know what. I don't care. You don't have anything to sell anyway.

Customers not happy no Carmel Creme. They said they came to the store JUST because they saw it in the flyer & wanted to try it. Yeah, right.

This scene happened ALOT & I remembered it happened last year too.
ME: (in nice loud clear voice stressing the word DIET) Hi, would you like to try DIET Pepsi Jazz? .......(do script while customer reaching & drinking)
CUSTOMER: (after drinking one flavor) EWWWWW, its diet. (and reaches for other flavor)
ME: Um....yes, they are BOTH DIET Pepsi Jazz. You may not like that one either than.
CUSTOMER: Yuck!
ME: sigh..........
CUSTOMER: Do you have the regular non-diet one?
ME: No, its DIET Pepsi Jazz. It doesn't come in non-diet.

Greedy! (I seem to have this alot more at Target than at Walmart. :confused3 ) I went thru ALL 400 cups and had to go out to car to get more. I've NEVER gone thru all my cups in any event. Ran out of soda just at end. I had scimped on the sample size a bit to make it last as long as it did, because cans cost more than bottles & I didn't have money to buy anymore.

And this is my new favorite. It happened last week too at same store. They (grown adults & kids alike) put the empty cups back on the table. :confused3 Trash can is right there. (under my breathe....I'm an NOT your mother.)

Some that did go to throw cup away...almost threw them in my cooler..until I stopped them. WTH?

I know there are Target customers & Walmart customers.....but I really have to wonder about Target customers sometimes. I just don't get it at all. Walmart customers don't do this stuff at all. :confused3

And I spilled a cup of soda while placing it on the table & napkin. Just slipped right out of hand due to glove. Luckily, when it hit the floor & splashed, it JUST missed a customer.

I think I need a vacation from stupid people.

Most of my guests didn't like the Caramel Cream either. We didn't have much inventory, as most of the Targets in our area didn't. The people I had were odder - it seems that happens when I'm not "just" in the food area, but in an area where people are shopping for other things. I did have enough to sell 40 bottles, they really had to scour the back area for it.

No chilled product, thank goodness for my cooler! Ran out of cups before samples because I started only pouring cups about 1/4 - 1/3 full... why? because about 90% of the people hated it... not just the carmel cream but all of the flavors... worse than the first time I demo'ed this stuff..

And yes, people are just  putting the empty cups back on the table, touching every cup before deciding, not hearing the word DIET but continue to try every flavor anyway, and yesterday... I had to put 3 chips on a napkin for the sample.. people would pick off ONE chip off of the napkin & eat it, then go down the row doing the same thing.. even after me saying ever so politely, "You may take the whole napkin" and these were grown people!! I started to just sweep my hand down the table tossing the remains in the trash right in front of them and then stand there, not replacing the samples, until they left. And the genius who decided to put chips on a flimsy napkin instead of in a souffle cup is beyond me.. half the people would try to pick it up with one hand and drop at least one chip... I feel sorry for the person who had to vacuum that area up last night, there were crushed chips everywhere!!!

OMG one more full weekend and then two weekends off in a row... "I will not book any of those days, I will not book any of those days" I really need some time off!

You know what drives me even more nuts? When I have some souffle cups full of a product, and some loose items on a cutting board - and they will reach OVER the souffle cups and will take it off the cutting board. What is up with that? :)

I only put one flavor out today - I had two other bottles open of the other flavors, but I didn't keep them out (it would have been too crazy, and I didn't have the other product to sell except for a bottle or two each).

Hello I'm back from doing Diet Pepsi Jazz. I thought diet was universal. Someone wanted to know how much sugar was in the soda. I replied none, and I got the strange look. :confused3

People around here thought the Caramel was pretty good.

Oh I love my Target they were prepared as usual, chilled soda kit all waiting for me. However this kit didn't like me very well I cut myself on the extra cardboard thingy not the poster. I have no idea what that extra thing was for but someone sure sharpened it.

It goes behind the 3 sided poster... came in yesterdays kit too... I really like it... makes everything more sturdy & smooth looking.
