So I have begun to read this HUGE thread. Not all 215 pages, but trying to...

I am very interested in signin up for this. I would be especially interested in doing the wine tastings.

I was wondering how many jobs on average everyone is doing. If this has been asked before, I apologize. I was also wondering how long it took to start booking jobs after you filled out the ap online.

Thanks!

Help! My first event did not run because I never received my kit. I have talked to TMT and was told what to do. However, I can't find the address to mail my Store Report to. Can any of you veterans help?

While at Kroger this morning, there were several food demonstrators (same company - NCiM) there so I though I’d be friendly and check the products out. One demo table had a sign up they (the company) was seeking people to be demonstrators. Since the sign was there I felt it was OK to talk with the lady about the company. Apparently the pay is $9 an hour and you have to buy your table ($40) though she was quick to point out they didn’t take it out of your pay until you’d done a few demos. You also had to buy your hat and apron. Most of the work is weekends starting at 11:00 and ending around 5:00. The demo lady I spoke with had been with this company for 2 years and had more work available than she could do. I know this is less pay than MC, but I thought somebody may want to check it out.

Thanks for the link. With TMT having so little (aka "no") work, I went ahead and applied even though the pay is less. I'll always take MC work first, but during slow times, it's nice to have something to fall back on. I'm planning a trip, so keep that money rolling in :woohoo:

Doing my homework now for tomorrows 3M event.

Did anyone else visit the website for coupons? I did. You had to sign up (name, address, email, answer a few questions) to get to the coupons. Then in SMALL print, it says you may need to install a small application in order to print the coupons. I didn't have to.

But honestly, asking people to go home, have a computer with web access & printer, sign up, print coupons, THEN come back to purchase product.... THAT's just weird.  :sad2:

I've printed them all-- 5 pages worth. I'll bring them with me for anyone wondering if worth it signing up for.

$3 off starter kits; $1 off a refill; expire 12/27/06; you can print the coupons up to 2 TIMES.

I'M ALSO PRINTING A FEW EXTRA COUPONS FOR STARTER KITS & REFILLS IN HOPES THAT MAYBE I CAN SELL A FEW BY HAVING COUPONS FOR SERIOUS BUYERS. ;) :thumbsup2

DOES ANYONE KNOW if Walmart will even take computer printed coupons? :rotfl2: I thought I remembered someone recently saying they don't like to. Not this thread, but somewhere on the DIS of course. I've never tried it. Wouldn't that be aweful to sell one & find out the cashiers won't take the coupons. Maybe I'll talk to head cashier about coupons before event so they know they are from me & maybe they'll take them no problem. :confused3 Or, i'll know to not hand mine out.

I did the same thing.. I figured I'd bring them to at least show the customers what coupons they'll get... I was tempted to bring a few extra but just like you would hate for WM to refuse them... I do know that they work in the self-check out ;)

No self-checkouts here at our Walmarts.

If anyone wants to print JUST the coupons for the 3 products & 3 refills, it will take 2 sheets of paper.

I've got 3 events to do, so coupons only going to people who will buy it today since I've only got 2 coupons for each product & each refill.

Really, I don't think people will buy them. Me, personally? I'm not into these disposable EXPENSIVE cleaning systems today. :rotfl2: Great salesperson I'll be, huh?

I did an Easy to Digest Slim Fast demo today and boy was it a dud. The store was out of chocolate and I couldn't get hardly anyone to try the samples. The manager at the Big K-mart was not very nice either. The store was not too busy. Many more people sampled the Tums I demoed last week than the Slim Fast. I did work for TMG and no events posted until possibly 10/31. I'm being transferred to SPi. Did anyone else do the Slim Fast event? How did it go?

I used to say that too... until I saw (and smelled) what DS11 & DS16's bathroom looked like today... a long pole between me & it ~ along with gloves & a mask, might be just the ticket!!

I only saw the Slim Fast listed at a Kmart 2 hours away on Cape Cod - but less than 1/2 hr from my parents house if I want to stay there. For some reason, that 1 Kmart always has events completely different than any other Kmarts in our state. :confused3 Very strange. And, its still available..... as it usually is when its listed.

Too bad....dud events are long & boring, huh? I'm getting ready for 3 days in a row of duds. ;) But $ is $. :teeth:

LOL....good selling point. I'll remember that for tomorrow. :rotfl2: Its just me & DH.....and he's got pretty good aim. :teeth:

A sense of humor on these events is REALLY whats needed sometimes to sell something. :teeth: Real life sales pitch; not the scripted stuff they give us. :rotfl:

DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR TONIGHT. Don't want to get to store early tomorrow. :teeth:

I wonder if store receipts will have to correct time...so we don't have payroll problems. Might be good idea to check & have manager note explaining if wrong. :thumbsup2 Someone here had a problem like that I think.

Man I didn't even think about that! I will be double checking for sure! I do not want to try to sell that cleaning stuff for 6 hours to get paid!!

Getting ready for my first event... I was about to walk out the door when my husband asked me if I had changed the clocks back yet.. Oh no... It's only 8:45... Not 9:45... Now I have an hour to worry about what will go wrong today. Couldn't find my white shirt, had to wear my sons, which is too big.. Not sure what ice chest to use. Oh wish me luck today...

Good luck Wendy, you'll do fine!

I have to be at my 3M event in less than two hours & I'm sitting here in my PJs, I still need to take a shower, iron my clothes, make up, hair... I don't even have my table & stuff together... can you tell I'm in no hurry to get to this one!! It's going to be a tough one for sure!

I'm secretly hoping that the display won't be there so I can bail at the last minute, even though I said I'd do it either way....

I hate events that don't at least have coupons to give out, they are pointless IMHO....

I could NOT fall asleep last night....and then all the high winds kept waking me up. I think I got about 4.5 hrs sleep. ugh. I'm still in my PJ's too. lol

Few items:

1) Are we doing it with or without that blasted display? Are U even asking a manager if you can't find it? Are you really even looking for it, or setting up around the shelf display of product?

2) Are you buying kisses, which aren't in the original instructions BUT are listed in the instructions included in the kit?

Please respond all that are going!!!

I suppose if there is enough product, then I'll try to do event. But who knows, I might be asleep again by the time I get there. Certainly won't get in trouble if we DON'T do event, since those are the instructions. I suppose I'll know when I get there on how alert or motivated I feel. (zzzzzzz) Right now, I want to crawl back into bed.

And no, I'm not buying kisses.

I'm signing off again.
