How long does it take for an event to become available for an off date???
I got an event for Fuel up cereal and Fiber one bars and would love to do another one but their all listed for the same day. There's about 4 grocery stores within a 10 mile radius for Feb 17,2007.

Usually One(1) week before the event is supposed to happen... So for you look around 2/10/07.

I have the same thing happening for 2/3/07. About 2 weeks ago the walmart about 10mins from my house FINALLY had an event available so I took it. Well now those Candy ones everyone is talking about on the previous page at Kmart just opened up around 10 different stores around me. They are all for the same day Darnit.... I hope this lack of work discourage some of my competition and then I could book them off date

I looked for listings earlier when you guys mentioned candy. Nothing. I just looked again when brivers mentioned it, & now I got one!!! So far 2007: 1 event tomorrow & 1 event in Feb. sigh Great thing is both fall on weekends that DH has guards anyway.

It felt weird getting ready for tomorrow's event since I have worked since early Nov (pear event). 2 months. I hope I remembered everything. lol

Oh....and I can't believe how warm it is here. We broke records today, & probably will tomorrow. Predicting 70 degrees & cloudy tomorrow for Massachusetts on Jan 6. UNBELIEVABLE!!! (They said it could be 80, IF the sun comes out, but probably won't). I ironed my SHORT SLEEVE shirt for tomorrow. lol Just nuts!!!

Just unbooked the Granola event for a Hershey's event that is much much closer to home... also picked up that extra Kelloggs event that finally went off rate - I'll be working all next weekend now (yuck) but I can really use the extra cash to make up for $$ I spent on Christmas gifts

Great pics. I've been THINKING of making price signs on the computer ahead of time, but never get around to it. I end up writing it out on a index card at the store with a sharpee. Yours look good.

Did my HH & Progresso Soup today. I had a HUGE endcap of HH to try to sell. LOL, I've never seen so much. Made a nice dent in it. However, there was only 1 can of Low Sodium Chicken Noodle. 2 other flavors of Low Sodium, but I didn't think Minestrone or Gumbo would go over well. Looked on every end cap for more soup. Asked 3 employees who were speaking to each other while stocking shelves right next to a large display of Progresso soup...but there was NO low sodium soup there either. They just said if there was more, it would have been put out. So, I decided not to do soup, & just do HH. Fine with me.

I finally met another MC person. He was there to do yogurt & corn. Now, our shifts were 11-4. Its 11:15 & I'm almost done setting up, when he arrives & walks up to me thinking I'm here to do same demo as him. We clear that up. He heads off to buy product --carrying just his papers & no cart. He walks back towards me shaking head & mumbling. I ask him if he wants my carriage, since I'm now all set up & ready to go. He takes carriage, gets product & heads by me again. Its maybe 11:20 - 11:25 by now. Around 12:10, I decide to turn around & see if I can see where he set up. He's JUST SETTING UP NOW? Where has he been? (At end of shift I think I figure it out.)

So, 12:30 I think he's finally demo'ing. He keeps visiting my table. Taking about taking some wine events in NEW JERSEY that "Dan" emailed him about. (Ummmm, we live in MA. Hey buddy, "dan" - your best friend emailed EVERYONE. lol) Anyway, this keeps happening. He says he's gonna stay later since he got there late.

Ok, my time comes to break down & walk the store. Low & behold, he starts to too. We dump trash. We find a manager in aisle to sign us out. I head to swipe out ---at wish point I lost him. I get store stamp. As I'm about to walk out the out door, he comes walking in the in door with just his MC card so he can swipe out.

I THINK he bought product swiping in, THEN went out to car to get his stuff. And at end, brought stuff out to car, then came back in to swipe out. I SWEAR, he must have only sampled from 12:30 to 3:30ish on an 11-4 shift.

He also didn't have any gloves & asked me for some of mine, which I gave him since I always bring more. AND, he didn't have a hairnet, just a hat. WOW, surely a model employee. NOT!!! He started in July. First event Aug. And hasn't had too many. I can't tell you how many times he dropped Dan's name like they chat & email all the time.

I hope I never run into this guy again.

Splsh... I have witnessed other people from "other" companies doing that...its quite annoying ESPECIALLY when you know that person will get the same pay (microwave + 5 hours) that you will get for about 2/3's the time invested. I had that corn event ON-DATE yesterday so maybe he will make less as it should be an offdate or something. Wait, doesn't Walmarts off Dates have to be M-Th? Come to think of it, Walmart doesn't offer off dates on the weekends. So, with that in mind, what the heck was he even doing there? A day late, a buck short.

Actually, it was for today. Because when I booked my HH, I had choice of HH or corn for today, so I took HH. So when he got around to booking, he only saw corn, that's why he was confused when he first saw me.

Well, he could have JUST been plain confused, but that's another story.

Oh, I did pickup one new trick from my new "friend" today. He went in the back room & grabbed 3 empty milk crates from the dairy dept. He stacked them on top of each other (upside down) & placed it at the end of his table. Its ALMOST the same height as our table. (no significant difference). He then placed his microwave so 1/2 was on the table & 1/2 was on the milk crates. It sure gave alot more room on the table.

While I don't think I'll do this often, its a great tip if you are at the store already & find that your table is just gonna be WAY too crowded.

I think if I ended up doing soup & HH today, I would have been hard pressed for room to work.

Splsh I was the exact opposite... the shelf was bare where the HH should have been... not too much better on the soup but had enough to get me through 4 hours... I ended up sampling the HH for the remainder but hated doing it because you look like an idiot when they ask where it is & you inform them it sold out not even a coupon to give them for next time...

Oh, and just for the hell of it, i calculated out how many boxes of HH were on that end cap when I arrived. 9 boxes deep x 8 boxes across x 2 layers on each shelf x 3.5 shelves = 504 BOXES of HAMBURGER HELPER. There was more in the aisle too. SOMEONE got carried away. Yes, it was solid, I checked.

I sold 72.....leaving them 432 boxes!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaha

Just got back from Disney last night..... Boy was it great!!! Only problem was, trying to keep my kids out of the pool....... Back to reality.... 2 Events this weekend..... Soup and Salmon..... I want the chocolate one, but it is an hour from my house.... So I think I will pass...... Hope everyone has a great NEw Year!!!!!!

has anyone ever had to cancel due to weather?? do they let you reschedule?
Not that it will be a big deal but saw on the news this morning we may have ice and snow on Saturday when I'm doing Garnier.
