Finally received a reply back from my email to TMT about getting my user-id and password to start booking events. The email asked to phone them to schedule my first event. Well, guess what? As everyone in OH has reported, they told me they didn’t have events into the 1st two weeks of December and to keep calling back. I tried getting them to give me a id and password so I could check, but they wouldn’t do it until I scheduled through them for the first event. What a bummer. :sad2:

Got my Godiva Kit yesterday & my first Wine kit today... haven't opened either one yet...

If I don't take pictures, I'll be one event shy of 25 points... guess I'll be sending in at least one  Of course I'm wondering how long it'll be before I get my $50 gift card for doing a zillion Proplan events!

Hi all I have my first event tomorrow and I have a question about the Store Report Form. Where it says "estimated product beginning inventory" do they mean the entire stores inventory? I think that is what it means but I want to make sure. Thanks :)

That's a little vague, isn't it? I always use the inventory on the shelf before I make my purchase. Then there are blanks for # used for sampling and # sold, and I figure those plus what's remaining on the shelf should add up to beginning inventory. What does everyone else do?

Count what is on the shelf for beginning and ending inventory.. counting it out helps when you have questions asking how much was sold. Subtract begin and end inventory and you're all set.. keep an eye on inventory if they restock mid event.

That is too bad they won't let you schedule first - it's too early really for December, though a few things are popping up here already.

Just book any event and then you will get the code and you can sign up yourself for earlier if they come up. I scheduled my first event at the end of July on the 14th of June by phone (the one you have to book by phone by the way will pay less because you did it by phone) and was then able to get online that day and booked that next Saturday the 20th or so and also in that week booked every week until the end of July. You do not have to make the event you do by phone the first. Jocylin at TMT told me that.

In my case she didn't know the area I live so she told me there were none in my city so what metro area did I live in and I told her Kansas City, so she scheduled me 35 miles away from where I live in Kansas City proper. Then when I got online there were many in the metro that were closer, but she just didn't know to offer me one of those, so there may be work in the first two weeks of December for you, but she is not aware enough of where you live, KWIM?

Call and book then get online!

Just home from picking up a few things at ST. Do ST employees often demo? :confused3

I saw 3 demos, 1 was a lady with tiny pieces of dark chocolate. When we walked by she just said "do you want some dark chocolate?" and that was it. Then I saw another demo station with no one there. Just a box of what looked like garlic or cheese bread maybe and a napkin but no one around?!
Then the last demo cart I saw was what looked like a ST employee because he has on khakis and the ST red shirt and he was leaning up against an endcap. We walked by him twice and he never said a word. I have no idea what he even had on the table but it smelled bad whatever it was?!

Have any of you ever done the Neurtrogena blends event? I have that next weekend and just wondered how they went!? :confused3

Don't know about ST people doing demos...but I was in my local Price Chopper grocery store this week & saw 2 food events for the first time. One guy had fresca black cherry soda along with those disposable bags to cook in crock pot. And then I saw another table, with no one there, with samples of bottled Nesquik drink from dairy dept. I wanted a sample but didn't take one since I had no idea how long it had been sitting out, and the bottle wasn't on ice either. :sad2: Wonder who they work for. :confused3

HEY everyone, 2 emails to Vanessa & friends this week (2 days in a row) regarding the ADP site & my log-in problem. She replied today (Sat) that she forwarded it to their new payroll person & I should have a reply soon. Yeah, I'll be holding my breathe until then. :rotfl:

Yes, the event instructions from my last job said there could be up to 6 events running at ST, "MC executes 3 events, and ST employees execute the rest."
I've seen 3 ST employees doing demos, but I've never seen 3 MC employees at one time. But I agree, the ST employees don't push the product.

There are rarely any ST events done by the store themselves where I am.

The Godiva coffee was a pain today! The store couldn't find it, so I started out with just the biscotti. Then they found it, so I added it when I checked out (did everything backwards), using some coupons so it didn't go over the total.

Having to unwrap each biscotti is what took the longest. It was busy at the front of the store, but hard to sell anything because everyone is on their way out. So a great (busier) sampling area, but not a good selling place. I did hand out lots of coupons. The Godiva coffee stuff is great!

The day did go quick, and people enjoyed both items. So I guess that is what counts. :)

COMICE PEAR INSTRUCTIONS are up. :thumbsup2 We get a pear slicer & get to slice pears. lol

SUAVE HAIR HOLIDAY EVENT INSTRUCTIONS are up too if anyone booking it. WEIRD COMBO.... Suave shampoo (promote only, no samples) AND LIPTON TEA BAGS. You would run water thru coffee maker & put hot water into cups & add tea bags. (no sugar & creamer to deal with although I still have all those Tassimo supplies like cups, stirrers, sugar, napkins, ....). Cups have coupon wrap on them. So, $6 extra for bringing coffee maker. This sounds like an event you can do even if Kmart cannot locate your kit. If no Suave to promote, do Lipton tea only. If no Suave AND no Lipton, then just make 75 cent purchase. If product, but no kit (cups & lipton coupons), then buy cups & run event. Its plain old Lipton Tea Bags...they've GOT to have those at the store. lol 5 hrs on a Saturday 12/9 only 5 miles from home.

Now that instructions are up...I can't help myself..... I MIGHT HAVE TO BOOK THIS. :rotfl2: I'm another demo addict & I'm having withdrawals. lol

ETA: I did it. I booked it. :rotfl: :rotfl: And its Kmart, I'm thinking OFF DATES too after when they come up? No one has booked any of there around me yet. Weekdays wouldn't be nearly as bad during December...hopefully. ;)

No other events available except the remaining Tassimo events & LOTS & LOTS of wine events to far from home & all the Suave ones.

I wonder if people besides us know to look beyond the first 4 weeks of booking. ;)

I liked the Godiva event.. people liked it & I was busy so time flew... the only problem was getting them to restock the shelves & no biscotti... not even sure if they ever tried looking for it but not a big deal.. I did end up selling out in 3hrs.

I didn't buy cups since I had a ton left over from other events & I'm glad I brought them.. there was no way I was going to have enough $ for cups & swipe out! I didn't think to break out the coupons first because I figured I'd have plenty of $...

Only Wine events on my calendar for the next month & a half... the kit was kinda cool.. nice tablecloth, pens to give away, little plastic wine glasses, rebate forms!

I didn't know before if we were supposed to/allowed to use coupons, but I know others have and I've not heard of any problems.

I liked that everyone liked the items - but it was hard to keep everything out at one time. You could have a family of 4 come over, and wipe you out of half of what was on the table. But it was nice not being bored, I just wish I'd had everything ready to go (the Godiva, especially) from the get-go. I don't even know if I sold any biscotti, we didn't sell a lot of anything because almost everyone was on their way out the door (I handed out plenty of coupons).

There is still more biscotti, so I or someone else will hand it out tomorrow (I asked the manager whether he'd like us to do that).

I'm really happy...it's about 69 seconds away from my house. I don't think there's a liquor store closer to me than this one. And it sounds like fun...printing custom labels for people who purchase the wines being promoted. :cool1:

But I still haven't gotten paid for my event in the beginning of October. And no one is returning my e-mails! I think I'm going to try calling on Monday...Splsh, did you get any response to any of your 'mass' e-mails? (Pun intended!)

I'm supposed to do Tassimo next weekend...I hope I get the kit soon!!

You have a wine event to print labels? Cool....maybe I better go read some of those events. I thought they were all sampling...and I don't know anything about wine. LOL. Come to think of it, the ads I did see on Craigslist DID say they wanted computer literate people.

Of the email I sent to payroll, event co-ord, & Nikki....then resent again the next day, I've only gotten 1 reply from event co-ordinator saying she forwarded it to new payroll person & I should get response soon. Yeah, right.

ETA: Yup, looks like we have the Custom Labels for wine demo too, but all too far. Just noticed that some stores actually want 2 people for same day & same time, one to run wet event & one for the label event. WOW!!

They've been advertising like crazy on Craigslist in MA ---under Gigs / Events. One company advertising is Anthem Entertainment :confused3 for liquor events wants 21 yr old females -- send picture & resume. And the other ads for wine want computer literate over 21 & (no company listed but I'm sure its MC) state to send resume & photo. They've been re-running their ads every 2 days under multiple areas in MA. And then they mention possible additional work after holidays. I wonder how many new demo people will be my extended areas after this.

And they have much shorter demo shifts than we do.
What I typically see... set up at the same time as me, demo for about an hour and a half , disappear for a half hour and demo for another hour.
I have noticed many ST use just one person to do the store demos, they do one product, put cart back and pull out with another product on cart.

Most of the ST events in my area there are 3 MC (full 5 hours) and one ST employee (short demo shift).

It's fun to see MC people that I have met at other events. We help each other set up tables and look for demo supplies. Coordinate break schedules and hunt down a manager to sign us off. Sharing info on which stores are great and which are stinkeroo... had a stinkeroo one today but I expected as much from prior events. I did the organic chocolate today, DH does the same event at a different store on Sunday while I do the Sierra Mist Cranberry. Working the same store .. awww.. how sweet  :rotfl:

I am doing the Sierra Mist today, Hope it all goes well.... I wonder how big of cooler I need to bring to keep the drinks cool, We have to buy 12 2 liter drinks... They should be in the cooling case.... Where is that?? Oh well, Gotta get ready!! Have a great day!!

I have the Green and Blacks today - hopefully there will be enough bars! Supposedly there are 30 portions per bar, but I have bought it in the past when overseas, and I don't think that I can divide it 30 ways. We'll see, though!
