I did the snack attack at a superkmart today. Was very very slow. didn't even go thru one pack of soda!!! wow. People were confused by the gum, it didn't help that there wasn't any in the store to sell. I had one lady lecture me about the benzoate in the soda and was yelling at her grandkids to not take anything, why did she even bother coming over? Just to lecture me. Oh well everyone else was nice and the manager and workers were also very nice also.

OMG today was sooo slow. No one in the store, barely gave any samples away. I hate not having signage, no one knows what I'm sampling. The store didn't sell the gum, only one bag of Wheat Thins & 8 12pks of soda in the whole store.

There are some off dates for the Soft n Fresh & Glade but I'm passing for now.

The Snack Attack demo was a disappointment. :sad1: I was in line at 11:40 at CS to get my Event box and didn’t check out with product until 12:05. :furious: They had no Wheat Thins, no Wrigly gum, and only 4 12pks of the Berry Lemonade and 2 12 pks. of the Green Apple. Bought 3 12pks. for sampling and only used 10 cans TOTAL. If it had been Target, I’d gone through 10 cans in the first hour. A lot of people didn’t like the Jones Soda. I had a few people who also though the gum was a packet of powder you mixed with water to get a drink. I too think lack of signage was part of the problem. I put a couple of empty cans up front on my table, but it doesn’t have the draw those nice side & front table posters do. First event I didn’t sell a dimes worth. Oh well, it wasn’t my fault they didn’t have product and Jones was expensive at $3.99 a 12 pk when Pepsi products were 4 12 pks for $10.00.

I had more people complain about the amount of sugar in the Jones. People were like 47 grams of sugar!?!:scared1: Being this was my first- do people always look at the nutrition labels?

I need you cheat sheet again!!!!!!! I have a friend I got signed up and she has her first event on 9/2... i figured your patented cheat sheet would help ease her worries.

Is this normal? For 3:00 am EST on Saturdays to be the bewitching hour for jobs?

Is this normal? For 3:00 am EST on Saturdays to be the bewitching hour for jobs?

It all depends... This date happened to be exactly 7 days before the 8/18 events... so at 3am EST (which is 12am PST their time) the jobs for 8/18 all went off date!

One huge thing I noticed is that TARGET now does offdates!!!! I booked two target ones although I am not sure I am going to get more than the show up rate because the kits are sent to the store and there is no way they will keep the kits for a week. Or does SPI send the kits according to when the offdate was booked now?

I think the cheat sheet is on page 438. I just copied it last week:)
Thank you much!

Target does offdates?! :scared1: RUNNING TO SEE WHAT I CAN BOOK!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Bummer, only 1 Target with an offdate & its far. BUT, they give you TONS of dates to run it on. I'm going to be watching those labor day weekend events that are still sitting around for alot of Targets. I could do some cleaning up on those the following week!!

Thanks for the info B!!!!! Woohoo!
I wonder if its time to start expanding what I'm willing to drive again for all these offdates. I've got car repair bills to pay for now on top of that kitchen re-do.

Hey everyone. I think we'll be having a new DIS member & new member to this thread soon. :thumbsup2 A few months back, I met a super nice lady doing demos at a store far from me. And a bit far for her. But she lives in an area with a store that often goes uncovered. I gave her a referral card & she's joining MC too. It turns out she's a former Disney Cast Member. Cool, huh?

She just called me for the link to our thread here & I've emailed it to her. She's experienced at demos with Sunflower & other companies. And she's a GOOD demo lady, not like the ones we share stories off & cringe about. lol

Not sure what name she'll be signing up with, but keep an eye out for her.

WELCOME!!!!

Oh what a day to being a demo. My dog was sprayed in the face by a skunk last night  and she still stinks and the downstairs of the house stinks. I’ve used tomato juice, peroxide/basking soda/dish soap mix and vinegar. I’m going to have to leave her in the laundry room while I’m gone today. I'm leaving the windows open and bowls of vinegar around the house and have sprayed with Lysol spray. You can even smell the odor when you drive into the garage. Ihave a headache :headache: from the smell so maybe getting some fresh WM air will be good.

We used shampoo from our pet supply store specifically for skunks. Works like a charm, no smell at all. Also my pop-pop used the spray from there when he trapped a skunk then put the trap in his minivan.

Thanks for the info! This happened last night at 11:00 and no place was open that would sell the skunk shampoo and they don’t open until 9:00 this morning and I need to leave here by 10:15 to get to my demo. I’ll see what the situation is when I get home. I need to go to the store and get a new collar as it has the odor too. Plus, I have this same demo again tomorrow. Thankfully my girls are at band camp this week and won’t have to deal with it while I’m working these two days and hopefully the smell will be gone by the time we bring them home Saturday.

I decided to book 2 offdates for next week to help pay for those car repairs. I ended up with 2 Kmart's within my 40 mile radius that I haven't been to yet. Not sure how the towns are either. Should be interested. Both are for the Scotts Extra Soft toilet paper & Airwick Freshmatic. Boring! Luckily they are only 4 hrs each. 12-4pm.

That will make 18 different stores I've been to.

YIPEE!!!! They finally sent me an email. Now I am all nervous for the interview -- I cannot belive that I typed that -- I am 40 yrs old and have a "real" job this is supposed to be for fun!!!

What kind of questions do they ask???

Dear Heidi,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Consumer Connector! We were not able to reach you today for a phone interview. Please contact us via email so we can set up an interview time and answer any questions you may have...

The Consumer Connector position offers part-time, flexible employment with great pay. Daily pay averages $75 or can be as high at $100 (5 hours)! Job responsibilities include promoting brand awareness in local and national retailers by sampling, brochure/coupon distribution, and/or product demonstration.

Thank you again for your interest in joining our team!

Question for anyone who lives in the states with the $10 raise.
Have you had any problems with your pay amounts recently? I've got 2 emails going with Daniel where I'm questionning their math for amount paid. This problem is new & never happened before. It seems they have missed the $10 raise on 2 events. That's the only explanation I can come up with. If you do 3 identical events, you would expect them to all pay the same with the exception of the on-date rate.

I've even consulted the SPI rate sheet to be sure. They should adjust the sheet to reflect the $10 raise. I think that's where the error comes into play.

So, anyone else? They must have someone in payroll that's new & can't add. :confused3

I just got one of those Airwick Freshmatics and it's scaring the h*ll out of me! It sprays out this hissing sound and and it sounds like a cat ready to attack.

That's pretty cool about 18 stores - I don't know how you do it with the traffic, but maybe it's not so bad near you.
