Now, more questions. lol I'm doing the Cogate Healthy Habits event tomorrow at KMart...

I'm handing out coupons, no samples. It says there (should be) 300 coupon booklets in the kit. Now, the store report form questions... product beginning/ending inventory etc. Those refer to the actual store product right? So, I need to count up all the toothpaste, toothbrushes, dish soap and lady speed stick that match my upcs in the store?? I have a headache already. lol Also, when it asks if I sold out of product, is it asking if I sold out of say the colgate, palmolives, etc, or is this referring to if I handed out all the coupon booklets? I'm guessing product.

yes, you have it all correct.
I use the back of one of my papers. List all the products down in a column. Across the top, I put these titles: beginning inventory, ending inventory, sold, # I bought for sampling out, # left of sample product left over, # of sample products used. Also, sometimes, # of beginning coupons, # of ending coupons, # given out. I'll do the same with cups if used.

I only count what ever it is they ask...not everything I listed above. It just helps answer the questions.

PS....if the counting gets up into the 100's just estimate. lol Count how many in a row multiply by how many rows. That sort of thing. Don't go nuts counting each & every one. lol

New event: 9/2 Target -- Pepsi & Frito Lay

Again, I'm probably wrong, but I can't see a need for any sign for this event. Kids probably won't ask for cards and you have total control of everything. The perfume ladies at Macy's don't have a sign when they come at people.

With so many people who get migranes from scents, I'm sort of surprised they are doing this. I can't count the number of people who wanted unscented sunscreen when I did Coppertone.

You'll spray the scent on a card and give it to a customer along with a coupon. What I will do is hide the spray inside my table when I go on break, just so that kids don't get ahold of it. I'll keep the coupons in my apron and pull them out as needed.

This is a good event to start with IMO - you'll have something to do and people will appreciate coupons. Hopefully K-Mart runs sales in conjunction with promos like this too. If you get bored, just know that food makes time go faster, especially if people like it

I thought this sounded like a good one to start with, too. I figured I better get my feet wet a little before having mobs surrounding me for food! Actually, there have been no food events listed in my area since I got my packet. They must have been snatched up right before I got my info because I see them still available in outlying areas.

Another 3 product event tomorrow and this one is at Kmart; 2 varieties of Jones Soda, Wheat Thins, and 3 flavors of Wrigley gum.

Here’s the script for the gum. Try saying the three flavors and two-toned stick a few times. Like a tongue twister. It’s only a 4 hr. event, but it’ll take me that long to give my speech.

A few people out of politeness listened to what I had to say on all three products, but you could tell they were thinking “was the bite of Toaster Strudel really worth it”?

Just showed up here in the last hour and at all 10 local Target stores. Hours for the event are 11-3. Maybe I'm not on the "B" list for Target any longer. Looks like I'll be at Target Labor Day weekend. DH is having some minor surgery done Friday so we hadn't planned to do much that weekend anyways.

Around here we don't have any Super Targets. It seems that is where most of the demos are?

I find room close to me behind other products and I put it in a bag with the "hold for demo sign." I don't know if that's the right thing to do, but no one has questioned it.

Well I just got back from my first demo...

I loved it!!

I did the snack attack at Super Kmart. The manager was kinda a jerk but overall it went great.

I was set up at the end of the frozen food aisle. I just put my Jones in the freezer & it cooled fast. I only went thru 2 & 1/2 of the 12 packs.
I sold out of the veggie wheat thins. I had people irate with me because I wouldn't sell them my demo bag. I just told them to get a rain check at the front.
Everyone seemed to think the gum was little packets of stuff to put in water or energy gum?

I was a little nervous at first about getting things set up but it went off without a hitch thanks to all helpful tips from you great ladies!!

That's what the people at my Target have me do. (Without the sign--I just knot the bag).


Cancelling a few demos today. My DGS just can not adapt to me being gone on Sat. So I will try to work only the weekends he is gone to his mom's.

This topped them all - the Super Target I was at lost all power and did not have backup generators for the freezers/coolers. Thankfully it was only 45 minutes before the end of my shift. I ended up being there an extra 45 minutes. My MC card wouldn't work, supposedly because they were on a backup system. Cops all over when I left - I think they're still without power, what a mess!

For anyone in MN, this was in Frogtown on University Ave./St. Paul so you can imagine what happened when the power went out (BAD/crime area).
