Want to attend the Michael Jackson memorial?

People have tried to make money from the dead since forEVER... this is just the beginning of the tackiness. :sad2:

Sounds like his dad planned the ceremony. I can see him walking around shouting "Programs, get your programs, just $35 folks".

We had our annual Barnum Festival parade here in Bridgeport CT on Sunday. Every year there are those guys who buy balloons and junk and sell them from grocery carts during the parade. Most of them had MJ T-shirts this year. This was the first year I have ever seen clothing being sold.
Guess they never made MJ balloons and blow up toys.

Sadly, I can see it too.

Well not any that were sold at circuses.

Not even if I was a fan. That place is going to be a nut house. What a mockery of a funeral

:sad2::sad2:

Who gets to keep the money? Who is organizing this memorial? IMO, the honorable thing to do is to donate 100% of the proceeds to MJ's favorite charity.

Not even if it were in my backyard and they paid me to attend. Money does not buy class. Charging to attend is beyond tacky.

I don't understand... why tickets and why only 11,000 people...

many famous people , even presidents have been laid out and people have respectfully lined up and passed by, paying their respects...

no need to create a circus atmosphere or make people feel excluded...or treat it like a commodity...

press conference on now...

at least it is a random drawing for tix... and no charge....

sounds like they are trying to keep it from becoming a circus.. no funeral procession... no outside screens....
I am sure many will show up outside anyway though...

i was just watching the press conference and its FREE! go to www.staplescenter.com and register to get you tickets they will give out to 8,000 people 2 tickets each.

yep - tacky doesn't begin to describe this event....

tickets, tee shirts, videos - this is how they're laying him to rest?

me, i'll just wait until the Official Michael Jackson Commemorative Funeral DVD/CD box set comes out. ;)

well i think many FANS would love to take a last look at him me included to bad im not back home :(

Last I read they haven't even confirmed that Michael's body would even be there.

I just wonder how Kathering stayed with Joe all these years knowing what kind of a person he is. I sincerely hope someone steps up for those kids so they don't have to be raised around that man.

When I heard it would cost, I thought about how the facility wouldn't be free, so maybe the charge might be nominal to cover its use. But $25 a head? Can this man even rest in peace without being exploited? (Yes, that's rhetorical.) I know his fans want their opportunity to say goodbye and all, but I'm getting a little tired of this whole thing being dragged out and seeing all this greed. This won't go away either once he's been laid to rest. They have to empty that 'vault' of music and there will be all the tell-all books, death investigations and rehashing and maybe some conspiracy theories, too. It's not gonna be pretty, but that Michael Jackson Gravy Train had a lot of passengers and they don't plan on disembarking anytime soon. Elvis has perennially been the top-earning dead celebrity and he will surely be knocked off that throne.
