Want to attend the Michael Jackson memorial?

What they SHOULD do to avoid ticket scalpers etc. is to nix the ticket thing altogether and let the first 11,000 in the door then close the door. Once they have allowed the 11,000 in that's it..no leaving and coming back in, if you leave you're out for good and you miss the funeral, period.

Have an entrace for the public and an entrace for those who have recieved an invitation (typically celebrities funerals are by invitation only).

There are so many people out there who are going to try to make money off of these tickets it's pathetic.:sad2:

They need to figure out a way to make it impossible for money to be made on this event. Give MJ some respect.

Can you just imagine the pandemonium that would cause??? First 11,000 in the door would cause a scene that the L.A. police couldn't handle. Better to receive an email the day before saying you have 2 tickets - not enough time to scalp them.

I think it would be fun to go, but I will not be going. The weather is unbearably hot right now here in Texas and I am sure it is the same in California right now.

Not enough time to scalp them? All it's going to take is the first 11,000 people to walk in, get the tickets in hand, turn RIGHT BACK ROUND outside and sell them to the person waving the most amount of cash.

This is an opportunity for people to make A LOT of money here folks...it's going to get crazy no matter WHAT this family tries to do as far as the public is concerned.

only people with tickets will be allowed to be in the area of staples center its gonna be closed aroun five blocks!

I'm sure LAPD is trying to avoid a replay of the crowds that occurred after the Laker win. They are actually blocking off streets around the area and the ticketed ppl will have wristbands. Letting an unlimited number of ppl into the area on the off chance that they get in would be a nightmare for public safety. The LAPD representative was pretty adament about telling people they would not get in without a ticket and if you don't have a ticket, watch it live on tv.

And some people will try to make money no matter how they decided to allow public access and no matter where the venue. :sad2:

im glad they are at least doing it for free, how incredibly tacky to even think about charging to attend a funeral. it makes me a bit ill to be honest.
