I'll admit to loving the Renaissance Faire and having to really stop myself from getting too enthusiastic about it ("God save the queen!" )

Other than making some nerdy music choices, I think that's about it!

In addition, when you turn on my TV, it will almost always be on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, or the Science Channel. I'm also addicted to variety word puzzle books - not just plain old crosswords or word searches, but crostics and the like. And I read Shakespeare for fun.

I'm with you on the Renn faires! DH and I have only been to one, but we didn't dress up for it. Too hot! However, we have gone to a local sci-fi convention and have dressed in medieval garb for it.

We stopped going a few years ago. But I can tell you that I have had a few people give me a weird look one time b/c I changed into my garb at work first, made a quick stop then headed straight to the convention to meet up with DH .

I think that's the nerdiest thing I can think of right now.

I'm a huge huge huge horror movie fan. I used to collect horror movie action figures (they are NOT dolls!) and something called Living Dead Dolls. They took up so much space in our bedroom that Joe was constantly . Even I realized how much space they were taking up so I sold them. A $500 investment over a couple of years fetched me $3000!

Still a big horror movie fan though. I buy them all the time on DVD. Particularly all the really gory bad ones from the 80's.

And yes, I've been known to go to horror conventions. I don't wear a costume though.

And I've been reading the same magazine for about 27 years now. Fangoria baby!

Nerdiness runs in my family though. My older brother is fascinated by dinosaurs, even as a 42 yr old man. He collects these ridiculously expensive museum quality miniature replicas. My younger brother is a King Arthur guy.

Looking at the three of us, you'd never know we were raving nerds.

Wow! Just went to their web site. They got a lot of guests! I've met a few of them over the years at I-Con. Missed Terry Brookes about a year or so ago b/c we were out of state at the time .

Peter David is very local here and actually lives in the next town over from us. Voltaire is kind of local (NYC) and he's been at I-Con every year. I love his song "The Vampires Club". DH has about two of his CD's.

Believe me, if you ever see my picture, you would be very surprised that I like some of this stuff! Does that qualify me as a "nerd" or a "sci-fi geek"?

ETA: Oh yeah! And I have a stuffed rat on my desk. It's Emile from Ratatouille. I also have a Bumble (from the claymation Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer) on my desk. My Dad got it for me b/c he knows how much I loooove Bumble (He found me hitting the tv with a tack hammer when I was 4 b/c Bumble was on the screen )

MechaCon is this weekend in Lafayette. All things Mecha and Japanese anima. several of the people I am the GM for are helping run the show. One of the guys is doing security, he has not decided if he will wear his "Dark Trouper" suit yet.
