Want to admit the nerdiest thing you do?

I just emailed those lyrics to three of our lawyers....the song HAD to have been written about one of our former co-workers. (But I don't think he was actually FIRST in his class at MIT.)

I look forward to helping my son with his calculus homework... ;)

One day, DS16 and I were sitting on the couch, pouring over his HS Calculus book and my old College Calculus book and we were giggling about something when DH walked in. He couldn't believe what "geeks" we were (are.) He still shakes his head over that sight.

I love that song! The whole thing pretty much describes DH and I to a T. We are the nerdiest couple out there. He was a nuclear physicist, currently a software engineer, loves comic books, animae, reads the Wall Street Journal every day, loves Star Wars and the Dragonlance books. I have a degree in historical musicology, tons of Medieval and Renaissance CDs, I used to play Balinese Gamelan, can tell you a million useless music facs, I don't like Renaissance festivals because they usually get the music wrong, I love Star Trek and the History Channel. Neither one of us drink, and I know different types of tea like some people know wine. We got our new HD TV this week and found out we love Discovery HD Theater. Yep, we're about as nerdy as you get.

I guess I am nerdy:

I got a perfect attendance award in high school for not missing any days for four years.

I met my DH at Rocky Horror-- it is pretty nerdy to dress up for a (then) 20 year old movie. I can recite that entire movie!

So far, I've made Dean's List every college semester.

I have stationary rims as well.

I'm a web designer/developer, so with the exception of Star Trek (never got into that), I'm white & nerdy all the way, bay-bee!

M.C. Escher, that's my favorite M.C.
Keep you're 40, I'll just have an Earl Grey tea
My rims never spin, to the contrary
You'll find that they're quite stationary

I'm a wiz at Minesweeper, I could play for days
Once you've see my sweet moves, you're gonna stay amazed
My fingers movin' so fast I'll set the place ablaze

I got myself a fanny pack

Whiter than sour cream

Only question I ever thought was hard
Was "Do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?"

Look at me I'm white and nerdy

Hey, the fanny pack is only for Disney :lmao: !

Let's see what else:

I love to write research papers and spend days in the library :rolleyes1

I love the Sims 2

I have been known to read and write Harry Potter fanfiction :sad2:

Love the history channel, TLC, Animal Planet, and Travel Channel :teacher:

I listen to talk radio and Disney soundtracks popcorn::

I treat my dog like a person and like to think of him as my "child" :confused3

I better stop now. I'm starting to sound really bad.... :upsidedow

Multi fandom RPG
Actually speaking a little Klingon
Comic books
Dark Angel,Firefly,X-Files
Anime cons(even working on a female version of Vash from Trigun and made my own Spike(Cowboy Bebop) and Dru costumes)

I am pretty straight lace and normal for the most part. However...I have been playing NERO a medieval LARP for almost 10 years now. Check it out. It's a lot of fun.

But besides that I am pretty normal.:thumbsup2

I played SOLAR for several years. *wave*

I own and understand Stephen Hawking's books AND dislike him personally. What a drama queen! :rotfl:

I own MZB, Anne McCaffrey, Asimov, Orson Scott Card, and trash novels... and keep them in the same bookcases with the Final Fantasy DVDs.

I own Star Trek movies on VHS.

I'm wearing a t-shirt that says, "Warning! I Speak Technobabble." And I have bought more from ThinkGeek. :thumbsup2

We have subscriptions to National Geographic and SysAdmin.

Wow, 90% of the things people listed here I have no clue what it is:confused3

Therefore, I stand by the fact that I am not a nerd - just look at my tag if you don't believe me ;)

I'll bite...

Stephen Hawking's in my library

I memorized Holy Grail really well
I can recite it right now and have you R-O-T-F-L-O-L

Only question I ever thought was hard
Was "Do I like Kirk or do I like Picard?"

In addition, when you turn on my TV, it will almost always be on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, or the Science Channel. I'm also addicted to variety word puzzle books - not just plain old crosswords or word searches, but crostics and the like. And I read Shakespeare for fun.

LOL, you win!

I'll answer too. I still play Nintendo.

Oh yeah- I'm such a nerd that after reading this thread, I had to go home on my lunch break to get my Straight Outta Lynwood cd. :lmao:

Not only do I have a library card, I also have an online account where you can request a book & pick it up at any library you want. I'm so proud of this.

Oh yeah, and my job is computer help desk. I'm a member of the pocket-protector brigade. :3dglasses

You are not alone. I hang out at the library:rolleyes1

My newest nerdy thing is I chat on line with a bunch of other nerds nearly every night, same time:sad2:

I'm going to Babelcon this weekend.

I'm obsessed with all things Buffy/Angel/Firefly.

I watch Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica religiously and will be watching Torchwood and Flash Gordon when they start.

I'm pretty sure I can come up with alot more things but I'll leave it alone for now. :)

I am wannabe neat freak. I have a little Monica Geller in me. I must have all of the dishes in the dishwasher grouped together properly. I have been known to rearrange if others load it.

Count me in on this.

I watch the National Geographic channel, Discovery and the History Channel. I am also obsessed with knowing all I can about pop trivia.
