We have decided to add on to our current DVC Points. Yippee! We currently own 350 pts at BCV with a September use year.....

What is the cost per point thru Disney at Saratoga Springs right now?
Are they running any good incentives or specials?
What is the minimum amount we can buy?
Should we try and get the same use year as our other DVC points?
What are Disney rates if we finance with them?

Hope someone can help.....

Thanks,

$98 - $8 incentive = $90 for Saratoga Springs. It is possible, with a September use year, that you may be offered '04 points as well -- if so, the price will be $98 - $5 = $93.

All other resorts are $92 with no incentives.

Obviously, those prices above are direct from Disney. You may be able to save money buying resale, but not if you are only buying a few points.

Nope. I think you might get the 2005 dues for nothing, but not sure if they are still offering that on add-ons.

25 points, 50 if you want to use Disney financing.

If you buy direct, I believe they will automatically give you the same use year.

Don't know, and I'd check with your guide to get the latest info on rates and terms. It's around 10%, but I don't know the exact rates.

If you purchase direct from Disney and you want a different Use Year month, then the minimum purchase is 150 points, and you get a new, separate membership number. If you purchase resale, you'll get whatever use year month the resale contract already has, and again it will be under a separate membership number.

Separate membership numbers must be managed separately. The points are not combined for making reservations, nor are they combined in regards to banking percentages.

Unless your current use year month is a problem for some reason, you're best to keep the same month.

Also, to get the SSR points at $90 you have to purchase at least 100 points. If you only get 25-99 points it would cost $98 per point. With a September UY, I'm not sure if they'd to the 2004 points, you'd definately have to ask your guide and do it pretty quick. The closer you get to September, the less likely they would do it. Oh, and the MN fees are prorated so you wouldn't have to pay all of 2005, but just a couple of months.

If this is true - and I have no reason to doubt it is - I'd sure take a long look at a good resale. You have plenty of BCV points to take advantage of the 11 month window there, so I think I'd be looking for a resale.

You'll have to pay closing on a resale, but those costs have been lowered somewhat on the smaller contracts. Plus, everything is negotiable in a resale anyway, so you may be able to get the seller to pay or split the closing costs.

You may want to call TTS or one of the other resellers and tell them specifically what you are looking for. They'll put you on a list and call you with new listings that meet your requirements, and they'll do that before they start advertising the new listing.

Good luck.
