If you move fast, you may be able to get one for a Western sailing!!
While hubby and I were on board the 5/25 Western, we checked with the onboard booking agent (we were having so much fun that we decided to book another one if a non-adjoining SPR was available for either of the 1/03 sailings). Unfortunately, there were no non-adjoiners, but an adjoiner WAS available for one of the dates. Can't remember for sure which date, but thought I'd let you all know. I highly recommend the Western...even tho' we haven't rebooked yet, I think we will be sailing in January again (we'll probably book it onboard in July). I just find it unbelievable that one of those rooms was still up for grabs!!

Barb...was it two adjoining rooms or just one room? Maybe I could upgrade the kids if it's our week! What are the rooms numbers if you know?

There was only one room available. I believe it was a "24," but can't remember if it was "55" or "50." It's certainly worth a phone call! I think it was on 1/8 but not entirely sure...that was our preferred date, although we were open to the second Jan. sailing too so the agent checked both dates.

Thanks Barb. We're the 1/04 Western, so probably wouldn't work. I wouldn't want to explain why one room got upgraded and not the other to the kids either! LOL There'd be a riot between boys and girls to see who got it! :earseek:

Oops, 1/4 is the date I mean (I get confused with numbers). Hopefully somebody else will be able to snare it if it's still available. I would have done it, but since it's just the two of us with no kids, we are more sensitive to the extra noise in an adjoiner. And there is usually a family next door in those rooms because of the pulldown bed. Of course, it doesn't matter as much if you have little "noise makers" of your own! I want to save some $$ because we have so many cruises already booked next year, plus a safari, but I should probably just bite the bullet and see if good old, quiet 5650 is available. It was perfect on the 5/25 cruise...almost no hallway noise whatsoever. The SPRs tend to get some traffic noise because of being the first rooms in the hallway.

Hi Barb & Tony,

We are sailing on the January 18th Western Cruise and this time we're bringing the kids again.

I'd love to see the two of you again. We chose that week because in MA the kids get Martin Luther King day off and the next day off. So we're only pulling the kids out of school for 3 days.

We have a category 4 because we have 5 in our party but I was surprised to hear they had secret porthole rooms available because I checked into them months ago thinking it would be cheaper to have two adjoining rooms instead of a category 4 and they said they were all sold out.

Well anxious to hear what week you choose. I'm also so excited about the Western cruise. It sounds like you had a great time. I love reading all the trip reports out there. Still trying to figure out what to do at all the stops. I think we are going with your suggestion on Xcaret in Cozumel but are still toying with the idea on renting a vehicle and touring the island.

Take care!!!

Stacey
