Hello, all - just a quick note to synopize (sp?) my family's recent visit to the Hard Rock Hotel and its Club Concierge floor. We had reserved a pool-view room for our fourth visit to the hotel, but a very helpful employee at check in offered an upgrade to the concierge floor for an addition $30 per night - not something we'd ordinarily consider, but the spur of the moment, I decided "what the heck!" and accepted.

BEST $120 I'VE SPENT THIS YEAR! First, the special attention you get on the 7th floor is spectacular. The small team of very professional (and not unattractive!) concierges in the club lounge were dedicated to making sure we enjoyed our stay, had everything we needed, and had all the food and drink we wanted at our disposal. From making dining suggestions (we wanted to try some different, perhaps off-property restaurants) to calling for transportation to leaving welcoming notes and gifts in our rooms, we felt like royalty.

Speaking of food, we more than got our $30 per night back - generous continental breakfast (not your standard Holiday Inn fare,) great mid-day snacks, and fantastic "heavy ors d'vours" (or however you spell that ... it was dinner to me!) PLUS free beer, wine and soft drinks.

The best part - our daughter was disapointed on our first night there to return from the park after "cookie hour," but when we got back to the room from an evening swim, one of the concierges - Heather, we think - had delivered a HUGE plate of HUGE cookies with a note from Sponge Bob telling her it was "great to meet her today" ... dunno how they knew!

In short - spend the extra money. The service in the other Loew's Hotels is probably similar, but we're definitely going back to the 7th floor at HRH no matter what it costs!

Have fun :o)

How did you get an upgrade for 30.? We are goin in sept and i called and got a room rate of 125(entertainment card dis.) and when i asked how much the club level upgrade would be she said 300.00! Thats just do much- 175.0 extra is we would nver eat enough food to make up for that! Just wondering how you got that for only xtra 30?

I agree, for $30 for a family of four it's a steal, but for me it was $100 more for me and my son and I found it to be excessive and a huge waste of money. I would JUMP on it for your deal, though!

Like so many other things, my experience may have been dumb luck - I suspected that they were underbooked on the Club Floor when I got there and figured they could re-rent my Pool View room for more than I had reserved it for, and may an extra $120 off me to boot. I wasn't going to complain, though.

In retrospect, however, I may well have paid an extra $120 per night. We'd never get that much food out it, but the bigger room, the concierge service and the other perks (did I mention discounted bungalows at the pool, free gym access, and free DVDs and CDs in the club lounge?) make it a good investment in vacation memories, we think.

Next time, I may reserve another pool view and try to upgrade at check in. It's all in the timing!

best wishes!

I also got the club level at RPR for $30 a night over original cost for July 19-26th. I did one of those Universal pkgs. w/4th night free. It came with one free upgrade and I paid the extra to get club level. I'm pretty sure my 14 and 17 yr old sons will make good use of the snacks! And the idea of finding a cup of coffee anytime I want will be nice too!

No most club rooms are standard size but I believe they also have a few suites club level.

We stayed in a Kid's suite on Club level for $35 per night upgrade. More than worth it. I don't know about other types of suites on that floor.

Nan, what was your original room rate?

Anyone get a good price to upgrade when they had already booked at the Entertainment rate?

We'll be there in 9 days and I'd jump at the chance to upgrade for a good price. It'd have to be not too much more to upgrade because we're staying for 8 nights and that extra fee will add up. Right now we've got the Entertainment Rate for $125 per night. Anyone get upgraded to Club Level when they had booked the Entertainment Rate for $125?

We did not have the entertainment rate. I don't remember what our rate was for the Kid's suite, but it was during Holiday rate time and I am sure it wasn't a good rate! We had to go at that time for my daughter's 18th birthday so we had to pay more than we would have liked.

Loved the Club level, though!!

Hi All,
We were at HRH last week for two nights, and much to my great surprise when we checked in we had been upgraded to Club Level. I was so surprised and so excited. Now the really cool part, we were travelling with another family and the front desk person mentioned that they were on another floor, is that a problem? We said, well it would be nice if they were close by, so lo and behold they were upgraded to. It was awesome. Of course now I can only stay on that floor, they got me hooked.
I am a Loews First member but I had the entertainment rate.

Caren90 -

That's FANTASTIC. We'll be arriving on July 4th and also traveling with my sister and her family. We both got the entertainment rate of $125 and have requested adjoining or connecting rooms. I sincerely doubt I'll be able to get an upgrade to club level especially considering it's a holiday weekend and I'm sure they're sold out. Plus, I just never get that lucky! Maybe someone can send some magical pixie dust my way so that I could be upgraded!

Did you have the $125 per night Entertainment Rate? What was your rate after the upgrade? Thanks for your reply.

Barb

Barb,
I had the $125 Entertainment Rate for a standard room and my BIL had the $160 Entertainment rate for a deluxe room (they have three kids). The upgrade was FREE. I swear it is the only lucky thing that ever happened to me. It was apparently already done before we checked in.
When the woman at the front desk was checking for a room closer to us for my BIL, she asked if I had booked both rooms, I had, so I think they just added my Loews First # on to thier reservation and upgraded them too. It was GREAT!
Good Luck, I am pretty sure the hotel was sold out as well. That might be why we got it, they moved Loews members out of standard rooms to make room for other people? I don't know.

One more question. What time of day did you check in? I wonder if that will matter. I've got my fingers crossed. I can't believe you were upgraded for FREE. I'd willing pay to upgrade, as long as it's not too much more, since I'm staying there for eight nights and that will really add up. I'm a Leows member too, but only have the lowest (Blue I think) level card since this is my first stay at a Leows hotel. Who knows, maybe the stars will be in favor for me! I'll be sure to tell everyone if I am lucky enough to be upgraded! Thanks.

Let's try that again.....

Barb,
We arrived at about noon. I am also a blue Loews member, but I did stay at the HRH last August.

They can look up your past HRH stay and put it on your card, but each stay only counts as 1 room no matter how many rooms you have.
