Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Hi Michelle!!! :welcome:

Glad to have you as a Warrior!! :cheer2:

I just post as I do my training/workouts/stretching etc. It's too much for me to post weekly.
Someone else can probably give you more details.

Good work on the 3.5 miles. I will be traveling out to CA for the DL Half so the Warriros will be well represented!!.

Try the weekly run/walk thread, you'll get lots of help/tips/encouragement and the such over there.
If you do alot of walking, there is also a walkers thread (I'm a speed/racewalker).

Have a good day.

Hi Warriors! I know I have been MIA for a while. LTO and WTO, ugh. I did get out for a LR this weekend. I did 6.0 miles in 1:29. I am ready for the Minnie this weekend and can't wait to get double points for the race!

Michelle - Welcome!!!!! :goodvibes You can either post daily or weekly totals, whatever you prefer. It is nice to hear about progress and work outs when you have time. Plus, I've had a few times where I didnt' want ot work out, but didn't want to post the next day that I whimped out. Just a benefit fro keeping myself acocutable. That beign said, if you body is ever telling you that you need a break, PLEASE don't think any of us would think poorly of that. SOmetimes our bodies do need breaks and it's best to give it to them. If you woudl rather post your weekly totals, out weeks go from Saturday to Friday. Look forward to eharing more about you! BTW, teh beginning of teh thread ahs soem short bios on many of us.

GOsh I love you guys! Yes, taper madness is making me mushy, but I really do enjoy reading of everyone's pregress. I feel badly that I have not had time to give shout outs to everyont in a while. :flower3:

Cari - SO good to see you back on track! :cool1:

Jen - :rotfl: I'm sure GOofyBaby understood and I am so glad baby took one for teh team! ;)

Welcome Michele!!!

Hey guys! How is everyone?

Just reporting that I did 8 miles on Friday, 2 hrs, 15 min and on Wednesday, I did 3.4 miles on Friday--50 min.

Have a great week you guys!
Stacie

:cool1: HI Michele! Welcome to the Warriors!

Hi everyone, hope everyone had a greet weekend! I got in 2 hours on Saturday, but unfortunately, we didn't get to do the walk yesterday for March of Dimes. It was a very damp/cool and rainy morning, and DD just wasn't feeling herself - we were just afraid, if she was run down already - going out in that, our luck she would get sick for when I leave them to go down for the Minnie. So we're mailing in all our donations instead.

3 more sleeps, and I'm headed down for the Minnie :cool1: :cool1: !!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Nice work on the 10K. Did you sign up for Beach to Beacon? I will be there and we run about the same pace so it would be fun......

No...not doing the B to B...I am way too scared of that race (I am just doing my first one this coming Sunday!). I have no idea why I am such a chicken about it. I think I have impostor complex when it comes to running. I have only been running for just over 3 months and I keep feeling that eventually my body will catch on and say, "Wait a minute....we don't run....what are you thinking???" and I won't even be able to run a half a mile.

I have been on vacation (down to Cape Cod for April vacation week) so I did not post for a while, so here are my totals for the past week:

Tuesday 4/22 - 4 miles - 55 minutes (with warm up and cool down)
Thursday 4/24 - 3 miles - 33 minutes
Friday 4/25 - 3 miles - 45 minutes with strength training
Sunday 4/27 - 4 miles - 45 minutes with warm up
Monday (today) - 6 miles and 75 minutes with some ab work.

So I didn't run as long as I was scheduled to run while I was away, but I did get a run in on each of my scheduled days. So considering I was on vacation, I'll take it! :goodvibes

ok so i didn't last long not posting! Just checked my work emails so thought i'd check in with you guys and what did i find? A lovely new warrier- welcome michelle. I'm proud to be part of such a lovely team and i really hope you'll feel the same too. Can't wait to see where you're upto.

I woke this morning at 4am in disney's POFQ  (jetlag as expected) by 5.30am i was out doing a run around the resort in my long sleeve alert shirt. Well it was really early so i thought itd be chilly ha ha ha. Man it was humid! Ran 3.1 miles (28mins) with a knee strap that i bought from Walmart (love that place) which seemed a little better. The humidity seemed to ease off by 6am so hopefully sunday will be the same. We've been to AK this morning and my parents are currently wiped out in the room! Bless. Expecting some rain in a bit and cloudy tomorrow but the it's due to brighen up for the late part of the week. :goodvibes

Everyone's doing great- hope taper time isn't causing any grouchiness out there :rotfl: Can't wait to meet some of you on sat eek. Keep it going guys you're all amazing :woohoo:

:) Welcome Michelle:cheer2:

okay here we go after taking the weekend off. Plus the weather was nasty here. For today 9.05 mile run 1.26 and 1 hour of team fitness at the gym.
Hope everyone is well. Only two more weeks til Muddy Buddy in OrLando.:)

Good Luck to everyone going to the Minnie have safe travels and an awesome time.:cheer2:

Ok, I probably would have just waited until I had a little more to post, but I was just to excited not to. I went for my first swim tonight in preparation for my Tri! I did so much better than I thought I would. I was only able to swim for 30 minutes since I got kicked out by the aqua fitness class, but I was able to do 20 laps. (They only have a 1/2 size Olympic pool at my gym.) But still, if I have it figured out right, 26 laps equals the distance I have to swim in the tri. So for my first "tri" :lmao: I thought I did pretty good. (BTW, can we report swim and bike time?) Anyway, thanks for listening to me pat myself on the back.

Michelle - Way to go! That';s exactly what we're here for!!! BTW, Dh adn I are hoping to do our first tri in Jun. However, I only swam crawl stroke as needed to pass swim classes in elem school. I typically prefer to swin under water. :upsidedow So, I'm not usre how this will go.

Roxy - I keep frogetting to tell you how thrilled I am for you getting back so quickly and doing so well!!! :thumbsup2

Barb - can't wait until your back. I saw that you finished and some pix of teh race. OCngratulations! (And oyu were worried when you started back. ;) )

OK, I did 2.69 miles in 30 minutes last night. Decent pace, but yoga will feel awfully good tonight.

Today:

15 minute ocean swim. Have I mentioned how truly DIFFICULT this is for me?? And how SURPRISED I am?? This is a major weakness for me that I have got to conquer in the near future.

22 mile bike ride in 1:20. It was GREAT going with the wind. The other way, not so much.

5.5 mile run in 53:00

Total for the day: 27.5 miles. 2:28 total time (including the drown......... er, swimming)

Carrie - You can do it! I am doing this tri after what will have only been 6 weeks of training! But I decided that since I was already training for the DL 1/2 in August, and my DH had bought me a road bike for XT, I would only really need to start training on the swimming. Don't tell, but my 20 laps were not all the breaststroke...I did the the frog (?) and the side stroke...whatever it took to keep me going. So a least I know I can go the distance...however, how long it takes me to get there is another story!

Nothing to report for me today...it's a rest day. Tomorrow's another story!

Forgot my Garmi for my after work walk. UGH!!
I did about 3miles in 46 min. Wasn't going for speed or distance.

(sorry, just a fly by!)

Jim - COngrats on teh ocean swim! You rock!

Michelle - Thansk fro teh kind words. Still have a while before i can hit the water, though, as there's no nearby pool and it's a bit chilly yet. We have been biking a bit, though.

Did my 75 min of yoga last night. My body is feeling much better.

Ok, finally have my totals (so sorry Carrie!! :flower3: )

week of 4/13 = 26.59 miles 5hrs 7min

week of 4/20 = 19.2 miles 4hrs 46min

this week so far = 6.53 miles 1hr 36min

Can't wait for Minnie!!!:woohoo: :dance3:  :cool1: See ya there!!

Becky

Hey guys! I've got nothing to report...LTO since my 8 miler on Friday last week. I do hope to get something in today! BUT...the 5K and 15K for the Minnie will count as double!!! Yay!!!

Keep it Warriors! You're doing great!

Stacie

Does washing and waxing the car count for anything. Took about 1 hour and 12 minutes.

Nothing to report today. Spent the morning in the er having convulsions do a an allergic reaction to some numbing medicine at the dentist. All is well now. Boy was this a rough day. All is well now. I am going to try a short run tommorow. GO WARRIORS
