HI Warriors.. the spreadsheet is kinda sad.:sad2: Are we in last place??

Warmup and down was 12min.

Take care all.

I am finally getting my miles back up a little. Nice work everyone. Got in a run of 6.23 miles today in 58 minutes. Then had to mow.:) It feels like summer here already. Yuck. Way to hot. Hope everyone is having a great week. Take Care.:cheer2: Go Warriors

2 mile Walk Strong, 30 minutes for me. I am off to Nashville tomorrow for the Country Music 1/2 Marathon. I've put in my time and I've done my miles, now all I have to do is cross the finish line!!! Thanks Warriors for the inspiration, I really appreciate it.

you've done brilliantly and it sounds like you really have put the effort in to train so you will dance your way through the 1/2. Good luck and think of your warrier roots to give you the edge!

Barbara - GOOD LUCK on your HALF!!! We know you can do it!!.
Remember, try to have som fun along the way and before you know it you will cross the finish line!!!:yay:

Barb - Good luck!!! ANd, most importantly, have fun!!!!! Tell your firends hi!

Tracy - Keep in mind that I am 2 weeks behind on entries, so it will get better. Hopefully, I'll get another week done duringlunch today!.

OK, 75 min of yoga last night. Today is a rest day.

Ok what a rubbish week considering it's the week before the minnie! I've only managed one straight run and it was very little- ahhh. I'm not feeling too worried tho as have read on here a number of times that it's better to not be injured and i have followed my plan to the letter until now.

Anyway, reason for this week poor performance was i have been having issues with my hip-knee area which my friend said was my IT band. I went for a sports massage today and he said that my IT band has been shortening from running and i need to stretch it out 3 times a day (showed me some to do). This was after 30mins of squishing it with fingers, thumbs, arm and then direct elbow pressure! He was amazed that i coped with the pain- he doesn't know warriers!!!! :rotfl:

So with advice and newly massaged leg i'm ok to hit the minnie and get back to plan on friday. Wahoo!

Hope everyone else is going to plan still- i don't care about the spreadsheet because we are the best team whatever that says!

Kate - Krista (Alladinsgirl, sp?) hs had many IT problems. PM her and see if she has anythign else to recommend. RIght now, I woudl say not to run until Minnie. If you can do some XT that doesn't hurt it, go for it. DO not agggrevate teh IT more, though. I had only 1 run in almost 2 weeks before teh 07 marathon because I was sick adn did quite well (except fro teh heat). Resolved some injuries I had been battling and the legs felt great. I was flying until the sun came out at mile 12. I know its hard not to worry, but try not to. :grouphug: and :wizard: .

Carrie,
I took a look at the spreadsheet and noticed that you were missing my last three totals. I went back through the post and here are my totals

Week Ending 4/4 - 41 miles - 7:45
Week Ending 4/11 - 47.4 miles - 8:40
Week Ending 4/17 - 28 miles - 4:40

Ken - It was probably just because I'm still not caught up, but thanks fo rmakint it easier on me! BTW, miss seeing you around here. Glad you can keep us posted on work outs, though!

Did 2 miles in 33 minutes on Tuesday night with another friend pushing her child in a stroller. Noticed that her child sits politely and watches the scenery, while Coach Harry chats constantly. ;)

Speaking of excited, Minnie's coming soon! That's a really good thing, since I'm worried I'll be pushing the limits of my WISH shirts and favorite shorts in another couple of weeks. My doctor told me that I'm officially fine to run the Minnie... okay, he said that once I explained that I'm not going for records and intend to chat and visit with WISHers the whole time during the race! And it's official, it's another BOY! Yep, I'm tired just thinking about it. :rolleyes1

Barb-
you go, Warrior! Just so you know, in my personal opinion, a trip report cannot be too long. I like all the details! No pressure though. Seriously, have a great time. You've put in the miles and you are ready!!

Kate- since the marathon, anything around 7 miles starts to hurt a bit for me. I don't think it's a real injury, but I'm not willing to risk it this close to the Minnie. I may or may not try for 8 this weekend. I took things slowly in the last couple of weeks before the Goofy and did fine. (OK, actually I was great in the half and had really annoying leg pain in the full-- but, I didn't know my leg was going to hurt until I was at the starting line of the full. I might have not shown up at all if I'd had that same pain the weekend before. And, since I'm rambling, I finally realized the new style of shoes I bought in November caused the pain... maybe check your shoes too).

Hey warriors. I have nothing to report today, but did want to stop in for a quick hello!

Smiley...I hope you are feeling better soon and get that pain worked out!

Jen...Another boy! Are you excited? Were you hoping for over the other? You have a boy and a girl now right?

Ohhh. The Minnie is getting close! I will be super excited after I get this 8 miler on Friday out of the way. 8 miles scares me! :goodvibes

Have a great day y'all!

Totals Spreadsheet

**Note: There are still about a week’s worth of entries I have not enters, so don’t panic if you are missing reported info**

Some things I missed teh first time around:

Becky - Yes, ChiRunning shoudl be better fro your knees. It's form makes it so you have minimum impact on any of your joints.

Roxy - SO glad you are working wiht the kid.s Very cool.

Warming Up/Mile 2 - Just wanted to let you know that it takes me 2 to 3 miles to warm up too. Unless something happened (heat?), my last miles of a LR feel much better than my first few.

No workouts are a failure! Getting off the couch ;) is a victory in iteself. Some workouts do provide more opportunities for learning, though. ;)

5.9 miles in 54 minutes.

Today I suffered from ROOD* syndrome.

*ROOD - Ran Out Of Daylight!!! ;) ;) ;)

Jim you're so funny!

I did 25mins stretches yesterday overall and the same today. So 50 more mins for me! I have been ok'd to run tomorrow so i'll attempt a 5 mile which i can easily cut to 3.4 if it's sore. I'm getting trapped runner's grouchy mood- how exciting :yay:

Kate, I know you are leaving soon to come over to the states, You sound very excited!!! I can't imagine traveling over on the plane and all your bottled up excitement trying to burst out. Try to relax alittle bit on the place ride if youcan and Ican't wait to meet ya!!

-Tracy

Aww tracy can't wait to meet you too! I don't know what's got into me- i'm usually excited but not quite this much. I just feel ready for a break and i actually think it's all this WISH stuff that i'm really lookin forward to!!! I hate flying so will be a little ball of nerves on the plane :headache: . I thought i'd get less excited as i got older :scared1: not happening. 3 sleeps to go
Go warriers go
