Hey hey.
I'm going to reiterate a couple of things I know I've already said on facebook, but they're important!
Jim having read your race report, you did so well!!!! Can't believe your time and especially with all the nasty mean hills. You'll be back

Thanks for the reassurance froma fellow 'pacing moron'. That made me laugh! Huge congratulations on your home too, we love Celebration and will always visit at least once for a meal if we have a car. We did spot a cute little alligator in the lake though (I had to remind my parents that it wasn't great people were annoying the baby as it's parents might be somewhere near!).
Sarah I hope your first few days with Quinn Avery Rose have been wonderful. I saw that she is an 'easy baby', perhaps she's just refuelling

You're labour was fantastically quick, that just sounds like a dream!
So I'm back to racing!!!! Whooooooo. It's been a long time coming. 13 months to be fair. I was determined to run the 10k this morning and just hoped the niggles wouldn't reignite. We made a weekend of it and headed down to London yesterday in amazing conditions. Apparently I underestimated the temperature, it was 28oC today with absolutely clear skies. As the race didn't start until 10am it was already hot hot hot, but beautiful. The route was the end of the olympic marathon route and is around many of the main sights in London, which are all in the process of being 'spruced up' for our Jubilee celebrations next week so there was lots to see.
I was determined to keep my pace even and for once in my life not race off, so I monitored my watch really closely and achieved my first (tiny) negative split! Just over 27 minutes at 5k and 53:29 finish. The first 4k felt relatively easy and I was so overwhelmed by the surroundings, loved the support and even did a few high fives- all things that I completely ignored and actually resented when I did the London Marathon last year, because of the pain! So overall a success, only 2 and a half minutes over my 10k PB so I'm thrilled. Hubby finished 10 minutes after me with no training at all!!!!

He's paying for it now though
Thanks for putting up with all of my whining over the past year, I really value all of you
