Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

FYI, only one of the plugs/USB chargers that are in the lamps in our room works so I'm having to use my big portable charger to charge by the bed.

Not a huge deal for us since we had a crap load of things to charge, we brought a power strip.

@Stewa646 - that's good to hear, but if the pillows suck call down and they can bring others. I did about a year of travel and stayed mostly at Marriott resorts and many times the pillows were pretty weak - but each time I called I'd get new ones and sometimes I'd swear they pull them right out of the plastic bag as if they were brand new.

How do I figure out what day I can book my trip: 5/15/2022-5/20/2022? I thought I had figured it out to be tomorrow but then the last three days when I checked to see if that's correct it looks like my checkout date can't go any further than 5/15 and doesn't seem to be moving day by day...so that means five more days or is randomish when they release the next block?

When I booked mine it was 50 weeks.

Been at the dolphin for three days now, and am loving 99% of it so far. The location, price, and hotel bar can't be be beat. I will say the 1% dislike is, these pillows might be some of the worst I've ever slept on 😂
My wife said the same thing, but I didnt mind. She uses a feather pillow at home, while I use foam so maybe that's it IDK.

Two quick questions for those staying there now/recently (or are in the know..):

Just verifying that unlike Disney resorts they are doing normal housekeeping(?)
Are they still not doing room service?

Thanks!

Sounds a lot like the room we were in at the Swan. We had one lamp that the plugs and usb did not work at all and one that the outlet was so loose, it barely held the plug. I notified the front desk and they basically said they could take the lamp out, but did not have one to replace it. They definitely need to get things replaced when they start breaking (especially since the only other plugs in the room are very inconvenient for night time charging of cell phones etc). As a result of our trip, I added a power strip to my list of must carry items!

They are not doing normal housekeeping. But they say you can request whatever service you want.

I asked for new towels and remove trash during our Swan stay a couple of weeks ago. After they missed two different appointment windows to do that (we were given to understand we couldn’t be in the room if they were coming in) I had to complain at the desk. Service was finally done the third time (and they did a full service, a very nice job).

Interesting -- I actually like the idea of making an appointment - that takes the guessing game out of when is a good (or bad) time to pop back in the room for a few minutes if needed mid-day... Of course that's probably a mess for housekeeping staff to keep up with, which is my guess as to why they missed your times a few times, but who knows. Anyway thanks for the info.

I hope they return to normal service...maybe tomorrow since I am checking in tomorrow? 8-)

Another question
If I choose to drive to a park (specifically the water parks) do I still have to pay for parking or does the parking fee at the Swan cover it? ( I know it’s a long shot but hoping)

Just staying at the S/D covers your parking at the parks, no need to have a S/D parking.

I’m having trouble linking my Swan Reserve reservation to MDE. It’s been a while since we visited, so I completely forget what the “trick” is (maybe adding a 0 somewhere?)
Can anyone help me out here? It seems the search function isn’t working properly on the boards, so I can’t find any previous posts. (“No results founds” for everything I searched for.) I also called the hotel directly and after holding for over 30 minutes somehow got a Marriott rep and not a Swolphin rep, so it was pointless.
Has anyone booked Swan Reserve and successfully linked the reservation to MDE?

I've called twice now and Disney can't fix the problem, they say they can't find the reservation.

Any suggestions?
The Swan Reserve is not yet ready for the Disney system. Someone else had this exact issue a few weeks ago. They spoke to the Swan & Dolphin in-house reservations and were told that it should be ready by June. But as @Gitefor posted above you can always call the Swan & Dolphin in-house reservations team to see exactly when they will actually be ready to push the Swan Reserve reservations to Disney's reservation system.

Dave

Wanted to share that I was able to link my Swan RESERVE Marriott confirmation in MDE for our November trip. I was previously unable to do so- so it seems Marriott must have pushed those reservations through now, as promised. Happy linking!!

Can anyone give me some tips on the deluxe king alcove with connecting double? Is it just two connecting rooms so that each room has its own bathroom?

Yes - two bathrooms - two hotel rooms that can be locked apart or opened up for one huge space. (via a normal adjoining door)

The alcove is a slightly bigger room than the standard room- I want to say it’s ~500 sq ft instead of 360 or 375 ish(?) if you call their ph num you can get in house (not central Marriott) reservations who know all the rooms quite well and can do a better job than I would. I will say I’ve stayed in an alcove with adjoining room. It was amazing - cost about the same as 1 GF/Poly/CR room. Also of note they only charge you one dreaded resort fee as opposed to two if you just booked two rooms. Another good option if you call them is to ask about parlor rooms. Those are 2 or 3 adjoining rooms. The center room is a huge living room with a bath and the attached one or two bedrooms each lock off and have their own baths. Sometimes the price is fairly similar. Oh- and a premium studio + connecting room is yet another good option to ask about.

In short I’d say call and ask them to price out and describe the differences.
