We just returned from 3 days on the Wonder. We were in room 8030 (the Walt Disney Suite). We're putting together a trip report but if anyone has any questions about the room we'll be happy to answer them.

WOW! Can't wait for your report.

We have cruised in that very room (11/2000) and in only 17 days we will be in the Walt suite on the Magic for a 7 day cruise. My question for you is , now that you have stayed in a category 1 suite, can you ever be happy in any other category room ?

Are you actualy in the room that much to where you need a room that big.......for my family and I we have 4 people in oour family and we only need a little room because we only spend like 6 hours in it(sleeping)

How far in advance did you book that suite? I have been trying for more than a year and a half constantly and have never been successful

We only booked the suite last spring. I think for the 3 day cruises it's alot easier to get than for the 7 day cruises.

Was it worth the money? My mother in law gave us the trip as a gift and she came with us. I'm fairly sure she would say it was totally worth the extra money. If I listed the tangible reasons it would sound ridiculous but the truth is that just being in that room was magical. Every time I took a shower in that huge walk in shower I felt like royalty. Except for dinners we always ate in the room. Room service would bring it in and set it up at the dining room table and we'd eat there. The verandah was heavenly. We'd spend hours out there after the kids were asleep. One evening I fell asleep in the lounge chair on the verandah while my DH and MIL were at the other end of the verandah chatting and having drinks.

Honestly, I don't think you can justify the extra cost except by saying that it was a once in a lifetime experience of living in absolute and total luxury. We spend the rest of our lives living in the city of Buffalo in a poor area where my husband is pastor of a small church. The suite had more square footage than our home. Money is always tight and it's doubtful we could even afford an inside stateroom on a Disney cruise without assistance from our family. So for us we felt like we had stepped into another world for a few days.

I'd say if you are looking for a once in a lifetime experience and you can swing the extra money - DO IT! Of course no one really NEEDS that much room. There probably is no way to justify the cost versus any tangible benefits...BUT THE ROOM IS DIVINE!!!!

Good for you, reveric! Whether it's actually worth the money or not is not really the point. You've got a great attitude, and I'm glad that you really enjoyed the cruise. Look at it this way, you can't attach a trailer to your hurse, so you may as well enjoy it and get some great memories!

Erin :D

I think it is great that everybody enjoys the cruise, no matter what cat you are in. But for me I would rather go on a 7 day cruise and spend less then a higher cat for only a 3 day cruise.

Markey - I couldn't agree more! I'd take a 7 day cruise in Cat 12 over a 3 day in Cat 1 any day.

However - if you ever win the lottery or just come into a huge inheritance from a long lost relative, you really must try the suites and then write us a long, detailed trip report!

Your comments about the suite and the extra cost etc. showed me that you and your family are 1st class people and you would be so in a category 1 suite as well as in a category 12 room. Although the suite is beyond description, being on that amazing ship with your family makes the cruise magical and the room really doesn't matter that much.

Howie dear Howie! I agree wholeheartedly! I love first class people - in whatever cabin they stay in! I am so used to the types that say "he spilled a glass of wine and DCL didn't offer me a free cruise", or expect DCL to police their kids at the pool. It is refreshing to hear from a family that not only appreciated what they got, but didn't ask for or expect MORE! You bet I would LOVE to stay in the Walt Disney Suite. The budget won't handle it. But I am still excited and anxious to go. I tried for the WD Suite for over a year, and was never able to secure it regardless of price. I am envious, but glad that a family that DESERVES it got it!! Here's to the POSITIVE people - and not those with an axe to grind or the want something for nothing types!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would rather be with my family in a category 27 room (deck - minus 2 , room with an oar) than be in a category 1 suite alone. The best part of the cruise is sharing it with those that you love !!!!
