Walmart classifies customers into three groups

What Walmart Category are you

  • brand aspirationals -people with low incomes who are obsessed with names like KitchenAid

  • price-sensitive affluents - wealthier shoppers who love deals

  • value-price shoppers - who like low prices and cannot afford much more

  • I shop at Targer

Our Wal-Mart is clean and friendly and I shop there by choice. I also shop at Target and the mall and wherever. I'm not affluent but not poor so I don't know where I fit.

I shop at both Target and Wal-Mart. They both carry the personal items I need at a comparable price so it just depends on where I feel like going.

I don't like Walmart! I am a Target gal! However, we did go to Walmart today since my DS is going camping with boyscouts tomorrow and we needed a few things. It just reminded me why I like Target better, but Wally has a better camping section! We needed one of those bags you put your things in so they don't get wet. I asked one of the workers there and he looked at me like I am from Mars! Then, he slowly said..."Ummmm...I have worked here for 15 years and have never heard of such a thing". Ummm...ok...found them myself about 3 minutes later!

ETA...after I typed this, I thought of something...our Wally World is only a few years old, he couldn't have worked there for more than 15 years!

Walmart is relativly new in the New England area . Probably why they are still clean and new looking. I shop online.

I shop at WalMart for very few things. Cheap fabric and sewing patterns, mostly.

Everything else I'd rather go elsewhere. Our local Walmart is usually pretty filthy and the employees make me go :scratchin; :scared:

I only step into Walmart as a very last resort. I love Target and shop there every week. I realize that I could save a few dollars each trip by shopping at Walmart, but it just isn't worth it to me.

We have two Walmarts within 5-7 miles of where I live. The one closest to us has little to no competition, it stays dirty, and the employees un-friendly, and doesn't always have a lot of stock. The one farther from us is a completely different story. Target is right down the street as is Sam's club. Their bathrooms are not only very clean but they just remodeled them and decorated them. They hung fake flowers and curtain material around the mirrors and it smells nice in there. The baby department is huge and offers a better variety of things than other Walmarts I have been to. Everything seems to be kept very clean and tidy and stocked. The employees are nicer too.

So I really think it has to do with management...if the managers are motivated and can motivate the employees, the store looks nicer.

My job takes me into every Walmart within a 200 mile radius of my house. I can tell you that they reeeeeally vary from store to store on how clean, bright, friendly and all around pleasant they are. I was in a store not too long ago where the front restrooms were inspected every ten minutes.
The store closest to my house is a pit of disgust though. Bleh. It's mostly Meijer for me, although I do find myself spending money at Walmart, but only because I'm in them all the time.
I'm considering buying our new television at Walmart because it's 50 bucks cheaper there than anywhere else. I'm no fool. Ok, well, sometimes... :lmao:

I've said this on Walmart bashing threads before that go on and on about the conditions of the stores and the attitudes of the employees.. Any chain store can suffer the same issues - depending on the management.. It's not exclusive to Walmart..

I totally agree - I used to shop at a Super Walmart when we lived in Alabama, and it was always spotless, and the employees, for the most part, were friendly.

But around here, I have yet to walk into one that isn't nasty, with employees to match the appearance of the store.
